  1. Thanks. Sounds like it's about ready to break loose.
  2. The Diamond City main ramp is open. The campground ramp is closed.
  3. Great report on smallmouth and spots from Barry Stokes and Stacy King on Table Rock. The Southwest Outdoors report airs weekly on fox and is also available online at this link: http://southwestoutdoorsreport.com
  4. Not 660 all summer. Bull Shoals was almost at 668 in mid August. It's now at about where it should be for the new minimum flow. Here's a web site that reports the lake levels daily. http://bullshoals.uslakes.info/Level.asp
  5. Thanks for the report...time to get out there.
  6. You might try Diamond City, AR. Several cabins and motels that are reasonable. Also gas stations and stores nearby. info on the this website...http://thelakeshoredistricts.com/Attraction_Map.html
  7. The Rigid Industries LED Lights pro you saw is probably pre-fishing for the PAA tournament coming up this week-end. Tournament starts Thursday morning out of the State Park.
  8. Because we need a lot more water in Bull Shoals....we are only 13 ft. high now.
  9. Saw this article on Wired to Fish on Rodney Ply's world record. It also has a link to an ABC news story. http://www.wired2fish.com/angler-sues-igfa-after-denying-world-record-status/
  10. Saw this interesting article on Wired to Fish....good looking screen shots and information. http://www.wired2fish.com/using-sonar-to-keep-bass-interested/
  11. We are only fishing early in morning....5am to 9am. Still picking up a few bass shallow early in 8-10fow. The better fish are on the steep chunk rock banks at 12 to 20fow. The bite has slowed to about half what it was a couple of weeks ago. At least for me. I think it's time to move out to the deep points and humps.
  12. Thanks for posting this. I am looking forward to learning more about what I am seeing on my lowrance.
  13. Great report and very good advice. I fish Bull Shoals most of the time and will take you advice on looking for humps and timber....Thanks!
  14. If you're into doing it yourself the Ambassadeur web site has the diagrams for all reels complete with parts lists. I still use a 5000 and 5000D almost daily...or everytime I go fishing they're still great for heaving worming and A rigs. The two of them have racked up about 80 years of cranking with no problems. I clean them, lube them up and keep on cranking.
  15. Thanks....will try that tomorrow morning.
  16. My wife and I had a great two hours this morning in East Sugarloaf. We pulled into a point with flooded bushes and before I could get the trolling motor down, my wife had a nice largemouth on.....I thought here goes that first cast jinx. I flipped into the bushes and wham...another nice largemouth. Got in the water about 7am and by 8:30 we had caught and released 22 bass. They were a good mix of largemouth, spots and two really nice smallmouth. About half of them were keepers. This was one of our best outings on Bull shoals in sometime. The fishing has been good all week but it was great today. We intended to troll for Walleye, but just couldn't leave that kind of action. We caught them on watermelon candy and green pumpkin worms. Tried topwater, but just lookers and no takers. One gentleman coming into the ramp just ahead of us had a nice limit of Walleye....topped by a 23 incher.
  17. My wife and I caught a limit of hybird strippers on 3" spoons a couple of days ago on Bull Shoals. Painted white on one side. Seems to be the combination they want. I order my spoons from Barlow's to save a few bucks. They also work on schooling bass.
  18. Thanks for the great report. The whites and hybrids are also biting in about 20fw. My wife and I caught a limit of hybrids in about 30 minutes a couple of days ago in West Sugarloaf. You are so right about the boaters. I try to stay off the lake on the weekends for that reason. I had to dodge a couple of jetskiers and water skiers yesterday morning, but the fishing is good. Thanks again.
  19. Hi, Glad you're coming to Diamond City. Check with Adrian at Lakeside Resort/Katies Cafe (Last resort before you reach the lake-Yellow building on the right as your are coming in to launch). Adrian usually has the latest info on where the fish are and what to catch them on. He also has live bait and tackle. You can reach him by phone at 870-422-2668. Hope this helps. I haven't fished for walleye this year, but the bass fishing is really good right now. Good Luck!!!!!
  20. It also makes for good fishing in the middle and lower lake. Water up in the bushes just right for a weightless worm.
  21. Thanks for the good reports. Encouraging news.
  22. Thanks for the good reports. Looking forward to getting out there.
  23. The gulls must have eaten a lot of shad. I was in West Sugarloaf Tuesday....fished most of it and saw only 4 dead shad. I also live on West Sugarloaf and have been wondering where the gulls are this year. Nothing like the shad kill year before last.
  24. My 2007 Mercury outboard manual says it's ok to burn ethanol, but a Mercury dealer and repair shop owner down the street from me says to burn 92 octane...so I am still confused. I am taking the dealers advice and using 92 octane with Mercury brand booster and additives hoping that an ounce of prevention still works.
  25. Great article.....thanks for posting the link.
