Hey guys and gals. It's been awhile since I've been out. Been so busy with work and chansing those whitetail around on my free time. Spent the most part of Monday double checking my boat and after a couple trips to Walmart and O'Reillys me and cooper hit the water around 3pm. Launched the ol champ at cape fair ran towards wholly didn't wanna go to far not knowing how the old fuel would burn. Caught 3 non keepers on a A-rig and managed 3 more non keepers on a wiggle wart crawdad color. The arig fish seemed to be in trees 30ft of water. The wiggle wart fish were really shallow. The fish seemed to be really scattered. We caught 6 fish and we're off the water around 530. Just another great opportunity to spend a afternoon with my oldest boy doing what we love to do. So I know this isn't a deer hunting form but wanted to share a proud daddy moment from the 2015 youth rifle season. I Spend most of my time knowing cooper had a great opportunity to harvest his first deer this year. Since he is now big enough to handle a deer rifle safely and by himself. So opening day of youth rifle season we went got settled into out double bull blind. ( me my dad and cooper it was a full blind lol) Set up over looking a harvested soybean field. The night before cooper went back though the trail camera pictures for the 100th time saying " daddy he's on my hit list and him O and him lol" I said " son you harvest anything you want" well he made me write this hit lit of bucks names and said " I'm bringing it with me in the blind in the morning lol". "When the sun finally came up cooper" said seemed like it took forever lol. I looked over to my left and seen a good buck working his way in. At this time I looked back to my right and cooper wad already on the gun. I said " cooper what are you doing?" He said " daddy does right here" I said " are you going to take one?" Cooper " yep" click there goes the safety. I've got a clear shot... BOOOOOOM. He made a absolutely perfect shot and she dropped in her tracks. I felt bad if there was any other youth hunters for a square mile from our set up. I say our blind was rocking high fives even some tears. The excitement that my son showed I couldnt keep it in. This kid works his butt of with me and my dad checking camera's and understands what I means to have a opportunity to harvest and provide food for his family. So when I say this was by far one of the best times I'v had ever I mean it. To top it off my dad was with us. God sure is great. Hopefully the pictures doesn't offend anybody. If so I aploize in advance. That smile says it all. Thanks guys look forward to reading a sharing what I learn this year on our beautiful lake.

That little ol white bass faught like a champ tho like they always do lol. I think your right and I'm lucky to have 2 wonderful beautiful boys o yeah and a wife that understand's what it means to mean to teach them both the heritage of fishing. -

SmithvilleSteve that's awesome. It's funny about your son would fish by the ramp as you would load your boat my son does the same thing. It takes me doing some bribing to get him away so we can leave lol. The outdoors and this lake we love has kept me out of alot of trouble as a young man. I'm really hoping the same works for both my boys. Thanks guys for all the amazing comments and glad everyone has enjoyed our trip. -
Bo I sent u a pm. Thank u sir

Thank you uncle B. -
I fished up there sat. I had a really hard time. Threw a buzzbait crank and jig. Caught one keeper on a buzzbait. But I've heard it's a day to day bite. Did catch shorts on the flat side of the river channel on a dd22. Also caught some fish under the bridge at bridge port using a wacky worm and my son caught some on a spoon. Not alot but hope it helps

Alittle late but had to brag :)..So my oldest cooper turned 7 this week. He's been bugging me about tournament fishing for years. I always said " when you turn 7 you can go with daddy." Well the time has come we gave him 10 different things we could do. All was kids things example going to the tulsa aquatic center. The last thing was fishing the fish tales tournament out of kimberling city. We'll without hesitation he smiled and said "duh daddy we are fishing." Proud daddy moment. So we got up super early and on the way to mill creek he said "daddy I'm the hippest birthday boy in the world this morning". Got there we launched the boat and headed to port of kimberling. Got there and got signed up. Talked to some really nice guys and heard all kinds of awesome storys about there first tournament experience while cooper sit there starie eyed. I could tell he was eating this up. Time to let out we were boat 38 a moment I'll never forget he took his camo champion hat off his head and said "daddy let's do this". Smiling the whole time the look on his face I can't explain it. He was hooked. Got to the james river stopped at our first stop nothing. Then we got to our second stop he was throwing a jig I was throwing a top water. I caught one keeper he helped me net it. He said "daddy only 3 more keeper bites". Like he's been doing this 10 years lol. We'll we ran around catching short fish all day he also caught his first white bass. This was a another daddy son moment I WILL NEVER FORGET. Got back to the weight in and of course I was going to let him weight his first keeper in a torney in. The guy on the stage pulled him up and asked several question he passed with flying colors. Guy did u catch this keeper? Cooper nope daddy. Guy did you help daddy net it? Cooper yep. Guy what did your daddy catch it on? Looks at me smiled and said a spinnerbait lol. I'm truly a lucky man and very blessed. Please take time to shake and man or women in uniform and please teach C&R.

Awesome report and great job. I was debating on fishing friday night but think I'm going to give it a try. Thanks merc for all the grest night reports. I really appreciate it.

Sounds like to me we don't have to worry about people like this catching to many keeper fish. A blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile.

People blocking ramps at Cape Fair
Codywskeeter1521 replied to Sore Thumbs's topic in Table Rock Lake
No your not wrong. I use the other ramp when the water is high and park to the right over there. I have noticed the same thing when I'm down there. Can't fix stupid and how people think only for themselves. The world is full of these people. -
Thanks for the report. Really appreciate the info on that side of the lake.

Thanks ham!

July 28th. Viney Creek to Shell Knob Report
Codywskeeter1521 replied to Bill Babler's topic in Table Rock Lake
Dang good day really. That's flat catching the smallies. Thanks for the report. Do u think the k's were around and just not biting or do u think they did some moving? -
Seems like if you can find them down here you can catch good numbers. The james river arm has Givin me fits this year. I was down there too from 4pm to about 6pm. I threw cranks on the old bank line picked up 3 keepers. Man I just have a hard time fishing that rig. I need to spend more time doing it and committing to it.
