  16. There are wake boats and thunder boats on Stockton too. People have different ideas about what's fun. It's great that we have so many opportunities. I wish my neighbors didn't like those noisy four wheelers but guess what. Not my call.

They're in a fence row. I mow right up to them. Stickers are enough, no need to add chiggers and ticks.

I have seldom seen blackberries loaded on the vine like this year. They are not huge, but they are LOADED. Just now getting red. So it will be a few days.

I cook on a Komado Joe all the time. Not a junior. Precise temp on the one I have. For a long time,
  21. I grew up in Nevada. Fished a few strip pits along the way. Rich Hill has good blue gill fishing too.
  22. Probably Saturday. We've got crappie and a few walleye and white bass too. Actually kind of enjoyed it - the no time pressure helps and so did the new knife. Set up a nice high table in the shade, got out the hose and went to town. Honest to gosh about halfway through I took a break and put the knife in the freezer.
  23. There were some humpies in there but nothing like that copper nose you took a picture of.
  24. We put somewhere around a hundred nice bluegill in the boat today. Slow start but it got better about 4:00. Found them close to the bottom in 12 to 20 feet of water where there was shade and around docks. Crickets and a piece of night crawler. Long Creek around Big Cedar but it should work anywhere. I'll be tired of cleaning fish by the time that job is done.

    What's Cooking?

My beloved grandmother always served strawberry short cake with a layer of berries and juice first, split the cake and put a layer of berries and juice in the middle, with the top of the cake also spread with berries and juice. Then came half and half or in my really younger days, cream from the top of the jar. Short cake is definitely best wet. With the crunchy bits to remind you what a good cook she was.
