  4. I wear fishing shirts almost every day. Went shopping for more today. Academy has their store brand in huge selection of colors and sizes for about a third of what BPS wants for their store brand. Just FYI. Don't work for either place.
  5. I'm thinking about my list and wonder if I should classify Guardians of the Galaxy as one of my chick flicks. The only other chick flicks I have are Steel Magnolias and From Dusk 'til Dawn.
  6. We need to make it five westerns, five comedies, five drama, five sci-fi, five gangster, five love stories, five chick flicks, five cartoons and five Cheech and Chong. Much more reasonable limit.
  7. Gavin: 1. Is it true that H&R Block hires streetcorner people to do taxes for their clientele? 2. Can you figure out a way I can deduct the money I spend on ethanol as a medical expense? I read somewhere that wine is good for me. It should be deductible.
  8. I had a pig snoot sandwich when I worked in STL. Went across the river to get it. A deep fried hard thing that was unmistakably what it was. Served between two slices of white bread with what was probably Maull's barbecue sauce. It was not good in any way. Texture, flavor or ambience of the lovely spot where it was served. I never figured out if that was what they sold to honkeys from across the river as a form of revenge or whether some people actually like that sort of thing. Troubles me at night sometimes yet today thinking about that.

    I dearly love etoufee. Crayfish being my personal favorite. Yours looks really nice. Very really nice. It's not supposed to be soup.

    Asparagus and gouda omelet with half an avocado and some salsa verde. Backyard eggs of course. Feel sorry for people who have to eat store eggs.

    Tonight we got home late from grandson's baseball season opener. I made a cheeseburger. Toasted buttered bun, Iowa ground beef and Colby jack. Browned that burger, melted the cheese, got out four big leaves of spinach, three dill pickle slices and Heinz 57. And a Coors. It worked. Oh and they won. He threw out one guy stealing second and one guy who had a passed ball on strike three. And some offense. Good day.

    My grandmother, who mostly raised me, was a professional caterer. Which no doubt got me the job as waiter in the fine dining room at the local finishing school for young women from good families. Some day when you want know all of the ins and outs of setting a proper table and serving and clearing dinner, let me know. But I warn you. It will take a while.

    My grandson was in the house this summer and after I took him on a bike ride and puked him (not me-!) he was in the fridge looking for something to drink and got out the nearly empty jar of spicy bread and butter pickles. Drank the juice right on down and gave it his blessing in a good south Arkansas accent as "some good drinkin' right there".

    I'm braising short ribs, onions, carrots and celery in red wine tomorrow. To be served over mashed red potatoes with some asparagus on the side.

  23. It's probably just me but I prefer XX Amber to either Newcastle or Modelo Negro. But after all give me a good German or Dutch brown beer and I will probably like it. Or a Porter or anything brown and malty.

    Oh yeah food. Chili melding now to be accompanied by grilled cheese sandwich. Having trouble deciding between pepper jack or gouda. Dang it.

    I had that crud for three weeks. Finally gave it to lovie who only had it for two. But she was a way better chill person than me - had to take steaming hot bath in the middle of the night with me to put in the smelly salts and dry her off. And they say women are tough. We're finally well again. That crap was no fun. Many naps involved. Zyrtec now is it for us Thankfully
