  1. just watch out for the big boats, they'll swamp you.
  2. this is the kind of info i was looking for. only been to loz a couple a times, never to fish. always like to know where to keep an eye open and where i can relax. we would really like to live on table rock, but it's toooo far away from the kids and grands, can't g overy long without seeing the grandkids. thanks again.
  3. wow, thanks guys. maybe we should expand our looking.
  4. This is still in the VERY VERY early stages. My wife and I MIGHT be moving to the Gravois Mills area if we can find a place we like. it would be late this year or next. Question is, is that area of the lake quiet (no monster boat types)? Fishing ok up there? we're both retired and need to get out of this house anyway (problem with stairs), so maybe finish our time at the lake. Not ready to talk to a realtor yet. Thanks for any response.
  5. i really like the idea i see on some tournaments on tv. an official rides in each boat, weighs and records each fish and then releases it.
  6. thanks. i guess it takes time to learn the shorthand LOL
  7. I've heard it a lot. where or what is "the big M"?
  8. I've been riding motorcycles for many years, drove school buses, concrete trucks, over the road 18 wheelers. spent 20 years working in hospitals in radiology and the OR. Been hit 3 times on the bike, rear ended on the bus. cut off several times in the trucks, and had to deal with Dr's with NO common sense. take those same people, put them in a boat,,,,, and there you have it. 1st rule of motorcycling, EVERBODY is out to kill you! guess it applies to boating too.
  9. I'm happy with my 20 ft landau toon with my 90 horse force. it's what i can afford, and you may beat to the fishing spot, but you won't have more fun.
  10. this will be my 2nd year to go to shore acres. we like it. pretty flat, nice pool, playground, dock. also have adjoining cabins. don't know if thats the are your looking for though, don't know the lake that well. http://shoreacres.us/

  12. 1. can someone point me toward a line that works well on a spinner rig? mostly crappie. everything i buy set up a memory. 2. how do you store your rods and reels away from the water? something portable i can carry them back and forth. something like 4 rods. thanks. garyg.

  19. spent the day fishing for crappie. ( no love. tried indian creek caught 4 very small about 12-14 ft deep in 20-25 ft water on minnows. surface temp 88 deg. water still waaaaaayy up.
  20. my favorite was several years ago at mark twain. guy in front of us backed his huge (looked like 25 ft long) glittery bass boat. did a great job unloading, tied off, parked the truck. came down to find his boat full of water. forgot the plug. buddy and i were laughing along with him when we noticed i had done the same thing. my boat was filling up. still funny to this day.
