  1. When you borrow trillions and then make the bulk of it available to only 15% of the work force you have no business calling yourself president. Executive order 13502
  2. The most likely culprit is the various stream changes that man has heaped on the watersheds. The Kentuckies have always had access, they just needed favorable conditions. They're pretty healthy in TR comparatively, but I don't know if they were stocked. They seem to have larger strains in some areas, likes smallies.
  3. I think the subject is much broader than we realize and almost impossible to answer. Most only need to look at their lawn to see one.
  4. I'm too lazy to look right now, but I believe wheat would make the list.
  5. The Wullf Triangle Taper is the ultimate roll casting line.
  6. Trap them, but use an insecticide to keep the grubs killed off.
  7. I didn't think of that, it was Bush's fault.
  8. Jack whether to go a full weight or half would really depend on your needs. If you are contemplating buying a fast rod and believe it will work better for you if it's slowed down you might want to wait until you put in some practice time. Not all manufacturers agree on rod speeds and they can vary. Fast rods test me in the spring, but I generally can catch up to them by June and I have lines I can fall back on if necessary.
  9. Missouri moved for the money, not the fans. They made some good runs in an above average conference, but never consistently. They also recruit too heavily in Texas where they get mostly what the schools in TX and OK don't want. The Mizzou administration doesn't put that much emphasis on sports, except for the money they can bring in. If you thought Mizzou would do better the first year in the SEC after a mediocre one in the Big 12, you don't understand college football. They got what is probably the best receiver to come out of high school in a very long time and they had best find a QB and an offense to take advantage of it. A lot of very successful teams have wrapped an offense around a star receiver, but with an above average QB and receiving corp.
  10. Don't think I ever heard Charley mention them. Charley moved to Bennett from eastern Laclede county and went to school at the School of the Ozarks.
  11. It was called a Speed Spinner and they were made using a snap swivel and a blade, gold was the only color that I knew of. Black and yellow marabous were very popular also. The Adams and the Royal Coachmen were used and most nymphs were nothing more than fur balls of black or brown dubbing.
  12. 9' 6 weight would be my choice. If you had given more options I would have said a 7 weight BVK would be my choice. Fall and winter Taney and any smallie fishing would be covered from woolybuggars to articulates. My new favorite rod is a 9 1/2' 7 wt BVK. It's a great rod for the money, tight loops and good accuracy and it will handle an 8 when needed.
  13. In my experience there is a little advantage in landing fish with a shorter rod, but if you're fishing an indicator a longer rod will give you a quicker response and better mending. A 4 wt is probably a good choice considering fly size and fish size in the parks. Over the years I've used everything from a 9' 6wt down to a 7 1/2' 4wt. I don't go very often anymore, but the 7 1/2' 4wt is my choice now and for Taney in the summer., I don't use indicators and will go dry if feasible.
  14. Beyond reasanable doubt. If the judge doesn't make that clear they'll overturn it. When you have to change a law in 2012 to have a trial, something ain't right. A cop knows the ropes, but it should work against him.
  15. I have a 9 1/2' BVK 7wt and it's the sweetest rod I have. I don't have a Sage, but I do have some older Scott's and Orvis to compare to.
  16. While I suspect he's guilty a knew how to cover up, its still an opinion. They had no evidence that there was a crime!
  17. If I bring them home I like to smoke them. Timing is critical though and you can't treat them like other meat.
  18. This is right next door to Prosperine. Prosperine is remote and not really where you want to camp. http://www.mountaincreekcanoes.com/
  19. I had to smile at this one. When I was a kid the elders always said a real hunter could shoot a squirrels eye and tried. Shotguns for them were frown on. Most wild meat is good, but many are greasy. I've eaten coon and possum also, but not too keen on the possum because they are very greasy and scavenges first class. Groundhog is good as long as it's cooked or BBQ so that the fat can drain. Muskrat, at least young ones are exceptional, probably better than rabbit.
  20. Nice! I wore the blue also.
  21. Well in the picture it doesn't appear that the jaw would line up with back of the eye, it doesn't appear to have the common body shape of a Neosho and it would certainly be a monster if it was. I don't know, but I do know that there has been a big push to stock lake smallmouths in Grand and it wouldn't be the first time that some fishermen took matters into their own hands.
  22. We are getting the wrap around now, but it isn't heavy here.
  23. I think it would be very hard or impossible for a Neosho to remain recognizable outside of their range. That may even hold true for their native range. Maybe some took exception with the OK DW and took matters into their own hands? http://www.tulsaworld.com/sportsextra/article.aspx?subjectid=25&articleid=20120506_25_B13_CUTLIN144325
  24. I spent my youth near a river in North Missouri and while it never ran clear, it did run clean most of the time and it had pockets of other fish besides what most expected.
  25. I think Al might have divulge this flow in a post several years ago, but I ain't saying what I remember.
