  1. There was a place about half way that would let you launch for a fee, but someone else will have to give you that info if it still exists. You can launch on FF where it runs tight to the creek and at the DD bridge. They are catching some whites but it has been spotty, probably because of the light getting deep now.
  2. Buy good thin wire hooks and you won't have to cross their eyes. I don't use a special rod and don't know anyone personally that does on rivers.
  3. verizon. I haven''t found a place in Missouri and northern AR I can't get coverage, with the exception of parts of the Buffalo.
  4. I guess what I'm wondering is that if it is welded to the seat support it could be torched off the plate, the post cut and rewelded to your specs.
  5. I've seen jig color make a difference more than once. I don't know that the head is as important as the tail however.
  6. Not me! I think it is a resource that should be tapped. The fact that it is hard to process to eat should have absoulutly no bearing on the sporting qualities they bring. After all C & R is getting to be the norm. Did it come out of local public waters?
  7. 73 posts and we still don't know what the best size is? This is getting awfully complicated.
  8. Zoom Finess in ugly colors. I don't think the T rig is the best way to go on a flow. A Slider head works better IMO.
  9. Are you talking about the post itself? What brand and how does it attach to the seat?
  10. Unbelievable! I wonder what they would say if someone on private land was shooting across 65?
  11. Actually Richy you may be able to launch at the Slough now. The water has dropped and I'm guessing, but the channel might be exposed now. If I go down today I'll post the conditions.
  12. There is no way that you can go upstream, against the grain so to speak, in a jet boat and not cause riparian damage. It is what it is. If pollution is bad, construction to close is bad, and mining gravel in the stream bed is bad, you can't ignore the waves undercutting the banks by coming from a direction counter to what is normal.
  13. I believe that is illeagal and I would call the MDC and the sheriff. I'm going from memory, but I believe it ties in with no shooting across a road, I.E a public access.
  14. The old "divers" story on LOZ goaes back to at least the 50's, and probably beyond. A fish that big has to eat and can't expend a lot of energy to do it. I think a big fishes chances are much better in a river where they can approach from behind so if the big rivers don't produce fish that size I'm thinking LOZ won't.
  15. I thought that was GayHAWKS KC? Given the fact that they represent the Big VII I'll have to wish them well.
  16. Good job!
  17. Well if you left out the equiptment then I would revert to what I did as a youngster and go with a flyrod and some poppers, streamers and a few wet fles. I suspect it would still work today because the fish are still bombarded with lures in our lakes, but seldom see fly fishing lures. My streamers wouldn't be weighted much and my wets would have some color on some.
  18. Interesting finish. Both schools have a long history of BB dominance. I wouldn't count KU out, thety play up in big games.
  19. The hiway 160 location is Beaver Creek and it wouldn't be a bad place or you could put in at the Beaver Creek COE and head upstream. The entrance to the Kissee Mills Rec area is on the left and you'll see it as you approch the bridge, about half way across the flat area. I wouldn't want to run from River Run to the pothole. Swan wouldn't be a bad place and there's a ramp at the mouth or yu can get to the water fairly easy at the east end of the park on Swan. If you're going to spend some time go to Beaver, if not then Swan would be the better choice.
  20. I wish they would pull some off of BS.
  21. That lake can handle it, but there are others that probably can't and I know the river fish can't.
  22. Do the temperates have access to the upper NFOW?
  23. There are lots of materials to use for bugger bodies. Besides peacock, ostrich and floss both come to mind. Ostrich has some nice movement and floss stays vibrant and easy to dress up with wire or tisel
