  1. Worms on the bottom no doubt. You can also buy grabbing hooks to use in clear water.
  2. Until the grand kids start showing up anyway.
  3. Sure they weren't buffalo's? If they were indeed Drum they will pick up slow moving bottom lures.
  4. I started out with a 94. They are nice and light, but now I don't think they have the accuracy to be versatile.
  5. I don't know where it came from, maybe from me, but it's nothing more than a light olive thread body with a cream hackle tail and cream hackle collar in size 18. It's just a general mayfly leaning toward a PMD. It's always been a pretty good producer for me for hatchery fish. The BS fish have always seemed susceptible to size 18 dries that resemble patterns, but don't copy. A bastard Adams, with nothing more than some brown and grizzly bookending a thread body can also work, but not as well for me as the Celery. EHC or G gnat. I think size is more important than color at times because I believe there are a number fish who will "taste" anything that looks buggy.

    Chiefs

No doubt it will take a bad game for the Chiefs to steal one away from Denver, but Reid seems to have this team really believing and because of that surprises are possible. I think the bigger threat now is with them getting cocky and losing a game they should win.
  7. You have a Paypal account? You always say you're broke.
  8. Show us the foam cuts for his guy Ronnie.
  9. A much better idea is to throw 95 cents worth of nickels into the yard and tell them they will get a bonus if they find the dollars worth of nickles in the yard.
  10. Absolutely! There are more than enough games in the season to adjust the schedules to even up the competition in the stretch. It would be nice to see the last 1/3 heavy on division games.

    Chiefs

Well beating Manning is always a tall order, but the Bronco defense doesn't seem to be as strong as it was. I'm not seeing all the negatives for Smith that some are, even manning can't pass with a 300# DL's breath in his face. Avery stepped up big in the last game and if he continues the safeties will have to back off of Bowe. Smith did the heavy lifting in getting SF to the big dance. The OL will hopefully get over the injuries and the rookie will improve, which will make a big difference. If you've watched close you've noticed that Fisher has had his problems. he has the talent and will come around I'm sure, but sooner rather than later would help Smith considerably.
  12. If all else fails the celery fly or the olive EHC will generally get them.
  13. Some variation there Ronnie, single foam, double, legs, do you have favorites?
  14. Personally from watching the game for many decades, I wouldn't look for a lot from the Razorbacks for a few years. They probably have a big hole in their recruits and that will drag them down, great coach or not. Once the team reflects a lot of the coach things will change, and you hope for a lot better. Arkansas isn't alone in this, many other teams have pulled in new coaches after a few years of bad recruiting and suffered the same way. There are just to many good teams in the general area that recruits can fall off on and still be close.
  15. That is the way it was designed to be fished originally, or so they say?
  16. Too late. We were there Saturday for our annual get together and the younger crowd wanted to float the river. The outfitter wouldn't put them on because of the flow and the level.
  17. I've done the commons that way in the past. Fillet them and then cut into chunks. Take the chunks and give them about 30 minutes in some cool smoke and the pressure cook them. They are great that way.
  18. No, fished Thurs & Fri some. It rained hard up there, but nothing rose. We had a family get together at Pomme on Saturday and came back Sunday. I didn't notice any hoppers. I'm sure there are a few. There are more then the usual number of small fish it seems.

    Chiefs

Well after the match up between Leonard's Love and the Broncho's, do the Chiefs have a better chance then first thought? The Raiders put points on them and defense has been a big part of the Broncho's strength. ???
  20. I've heard that from several sources.
  21. Good stuff Ronnie. When I was out west and fishing the John Day a lot there was only one top water action, and that was dead. It didn't matter what you threw, fly or lure, if it moved it wouldn't be hit. It also had to land within 2' of the bank.
  22. Fishing was slow except for some of the prime spots, outlet comes to mind. Moss was cut, but not much was coming down??? Saw some dry fly action up toward Holland, but no hoppers. I doubt that would matter though, there has to be a first one to hit the water. Crowd was light during the week and you could actually move up and down the stream. Even above Holland, above the Whistle and at the outlet it was possible to get in.
  23. Ed should know. I made a trip with my old friend Ed in the 80's and it wasn't his first trip. It is a fun trip, maybe not in the caliber of the west or or the northwest, but can't be beat for distance and and pure fishing fun. My son and I both have come up with 23# in 2 trips we made.
  24. I ws wondering if they were running any water also? Were you still fishing?
  25. Interesting Joe. It's skinnier in spots than I would have thought.
