  1. That is true RPS, but I think my biggest complaint is in the number of applications. I realize that there would probably be a riot if people knew the true percentage of their contributions.
  2. We don't prioritize as a nation. We fall into the gloom and doom of global warming while ignoring chemicals in our water supply, pandemic threats, overuse of fertilizer, the consequences of a global warming, no matter the cause, that is out of our control and the list goes on.
  3. No, my mistake it should have read "as far back as i can remember that you don't tax when there is no intent to make a profit" The point is just because people group to work toward common government goals they shouldn't be deliberately excluded. I don't care what side they are on this is immoral at least and more criminal in reality. You can beat around the bush all you want, but no mater how hard you lawyer for them, you need to realize all but one have admitted guilt on the part of the IRS. I'm sure eventually we'll have a McDougal solution to it all and Lerner can get her bonuses.
  4. I suppose nothing if you support a government who operates in a vacuum in which they pick and choose what the subjects hear and see. It isn't on the taxpayers dollar and I don't know why you assume it is? It has been a standard as far back as i can remember that you don't tax when there is intent to make a profit, hence the term non-profit. This was unethical and low ball politics reminiscent of Chicago, who would have thought.
  5. I don't know Chief. When I lived there in the 60's and 70's the Ozarks had better roads, but NW Missouri's roads were about the same. Maybe its a local mentality about what's acceptable?
  6. That's true Ollie. I have often wondered how much money some vehicles bring the state over their lifetime. We do have some questionable taxes, no tax if it's heated at home, but if it is cooked by a guy in a paper hat, it's taxed. Oregon has no sales tax and hard surfaced roads. When I first went out there it was easy to see the difference, it was in income tax, when we came back home 13 years later the difference had disappeared.
  7. There is no way to dance around the fact that the IRS did indeed target, unethically, the Tea Party, I mean after all they even admit to it! There is no difference in a Tea Party organization helping a candidate that they feel will help enrich the lives of those who support them then there is in the unions push candidates they feel will give them an advantage. In fact any laws the Tea Party helps enact will be available to all, not true of special regulations for certain union members.
  8. I'm sure you'll pick up some valuable tips from the TR forum. There are some guides around who don't have a problem sharing information, not to mention some skilled individuals.
  9. Good time for bigger fish.
  10. Same here.
  11. I think a 16 or 14 X 36 would work ok for the river most of the time. While it's not a perfect rule of thumb, you get stability from the bottom width and load capacity from the length. The wider the bottom the shallower it will run generally, but it's not a perfect formula because they also weigh a little more.
  12. So Vogels daughter sold it? Can't remember her name for sure, Jennifer?
  13. There is on the west side.
  14. The water was over the bridge Monday, but back to normal yesterday morning. It rained hard yesterday afternoon, but when we ran to OO this morning it looked normal. The branch never stays up long. Vegetation is the worse enemy. The wooly's should work fine, especially with the speed spinners.
  15. Gravel bar threw you huh? I should mention Vogels was a good place to stay, not sure about the present.
  16. I would be throwing mini jigs under a float. John Deer, white, or yellow. The trick is to keep it in the bottom 1 foot. I've never done that well hopping jigs after thd first hour, at least compered to drifting a mini.
  17. That was kind of what I was thinking.
  18. Why would you not use the 18/60 to snag from?
  19. I cut my snagging teeth in a 16" wooden jon with 2 or 3 people. I think as always it depends on who the passengers are. If a person puts in at the Ferry you won't likely hit rough water, so I would think a 16' jon with 42" or 48" bottom would be alright.
  20. Well Jack Solyndra might be a better example. I wasn't aware that Blackwater was a government contractor, so can't comment. I thought you were a union member, sorry about that. I'm not anti union, but I do think they should stand on they're own. The 13502 is an insult in light of the Bacon-Davis act.
  21. Zero here in Rockaway. I watched it on radar for awhile and the storm built over an area from what appeared to be Reed Springs to north of Springfield. The unusual thing was that it didn't appear to move, but was stalled over the area.
  22. I can see where you would feel that way comrade Jack, you work in a regimented atmosphere. You promise to bend over and behave and you get all the taxpayers gravy. Executive order 13502 guaranteed that union members would get most of the stimulus.
  23. Actually left 12 years ago. Got homesick I've spent most of my life in this general area. I liked OR, but didn't like the cold. I fished the Deschutes quite a bit from the reservation to the mouth. The salmon fly hatch at Maupin is awesome if you catch it right. The John Day is special.
  24. The radar does show that line developing west of us, but not moving.
  25. You might not want to risk leaving a vehicle at Tiff.
