  1. Well you can have the rugby, but I've not missed many OU games in the last 50+ years. I will admit I have questioned why a few years. I'm comfortable with them of of late. There have been some disapointments, but that's to be expected. I doubt few thought they would beat Bama last year and I doubt many Bama fans had any thoughts of a loss. Thay's college football. There are some unproven areas this year, the unstoppable running backs, the red zone line that can push, and of course can Knight play every game like he's facing Bama. Boomer Sooner!
  2. Some animals dig and some don't. If it's really small I wouldn't rule out a ground squirrel or a young groundhog. I know skunks will dig, but they seem to like to do it inside or under. Like barns or porches.
  3. I haven't heard, was he wearing a brace?
  4. I don't seem to understand the process? I have 2 feeders, seperated in order to keep one from guarding both. I never have more than 2 on a feeder and most that activity is chasing one another. I have one on the end of my long covered porch and it is visited by a hen, she tries to run me off when I use that end to exit!
  5. I really hated to see it. I think Bradford had the tools to be an outstanding pro QB and to go down again anytime is tough, but preseason seems expecially hard. I do think he's done. It would appear they can't bring that kmee back to normal and I would imagine that will be the final diagnoses.
  6. And frogs would fly if the had wings! I think maybe the type of land they drain might have a little more to do with that. I think the competition for food mght be a somewhat bigger threat to the fisheries environment.

I don't think he will ever play. OU won't lose, he's not on scholorship, but practicing with the team. I suspect OU sees a value in other players seeing his moves, while he stays in shape and learns more football offense. I think he'll go the first day most likely, but the bottom line is that he has fallen back and is more subject to supply and demand then he would have been.
  8. Rush to the White is too far period in a day and a half. It's an interesting trip if there is enough water, too much to miss on a quick trip. We did it in '08 with a starting temp of 104 and low water, never again, it's too far to walk in 3 days!
  9. Would that become a bow ornament? Looks like fun.
  10. It's pretty much both, but they do tend to stay in their own environment.
  11. Sticky subject and the use of Public lands leaves much to be desired. Most of these public lands are managed by the BLM and leftover from the federal governmnets efforts to give them away through homesteading. The real contraversial issue is the change from manageing them for what economic value they can provide to manage them as vast conservation and recreation areas. Many western states have tremendous amounts public land, Oregon is around 67% and this can cause a real burden on counties trying to make ends meet from a stingy federal stipend. The end of most logging was a serious blow to the economies and lifestyles in many areas of the west. I would have to know more in order to really have a solid opinion.
  12. My tomatoes are probably the best I've had in awhile. I know they'll quit during this coming heat wave, but I'll see them through it because they are new varieties for me. When I was living in OK I generaly planted Big Boys and they quit in late July and the pick up again in September and produce into early November sometimes.
  13. I got all of that from a cousin who was an MDC approved rescuer. I don't remeber all of what she told me, but nightcrawlers, small pieces of hamburger, insects, apple, things like broccoli, etc. Apparently there are two things worng with lettuce, it's mostly water and it has few vitamins and nutrients.
  14. Yeah if you ever fished Fort Cobb in the 60's or Ketstone in the 70's you could use well rope and get away with it.
  15. I haven't laid one in awhile, but if I ran to deep water I tied a smaller weight, enough to hold the line down, in the middle and if it wasn't very deep a small bottle or something coming off it. It was more of a reminder to other s than any thing else. Today I would use a piece of poodle noodle. I didn't pull my line unless I wasn't going to be back for several weeks, but I did pull the hooks. I never ran my lines very deep, I depended more on the fish coming shallow during the night.
  16. I think you can still buy 18" chicken wire, should deter Peter R.
  17. That's probably true, the asshat that owns the gas company in Lebanon has bought up much of that land all the way to Orla at HH and V. You can put in athe bridge there. MODOT built a new bridge before they took the and that property is on the east side of the new bridge.
  18. It seems isolated doesn't it?
  19. Some interesting facts. There are two species in the Ozardks, Three Toed and Ornate. Lettuce is a bad diet for them. In my neck of the woods they cross the road during spring looking for mate and are very seldom hit M-F, but when the tourist come in late in their season on weekends they aren't so lucky. If it gets cold they dig into the dirt and leaf mulch.
  20. If you use clips you are just using a small portion of the lake, no more than a boat anchored or a dock.
  21. I've fished high quality 6# and 8#, it doen't get much higher than P-line, for many decades on the Rock. Unless you're using a rod with little tip or a reel with a poor drag I don't see a need for much else for that kind of fishing. I personally prefer the P-line Original that has a smaller than avergae diameter and seems just as strong as any of its kin.
  22. Hmmm. That is sure differnet from my experince. I don't think I ever had channel cat in a regular cafe/restaurant that wasn't cornmeal dipped and that is thin. Can't speak for one serving that Asian stuff. If they don't gurantee me it's farm raised cat from here, they ain't serving it to me. Technically only American catfish can be sold as just catfish in this country, but I suppose no one is checking every food place.
  23. It's pretty easy to set a trotline that is safe to leave and easy to warn any trollers away from it. If anyone ignores either there should be no sympahthy.
  24. This one is easy once you have the claws. These were the first ones and I do add a highlight now. The Clawdad
