  1. Fresh broccoli often comes with a heavy blue rubber band that is about 3/8" wide. I save them when I come across them. Since I mostly fish warm water now I don't carry much leader.
  2. Thanks. Going to the doc today to see how the bones doing. I hope I'll need the arm at the end of the month.
  3. The pumps here are marked as such' Ethanol did put Heat out of business didn't it? Like getting a free treatment in every tank.
  4. I hear that! It appears we have 4 or 5" of snow on probably a little less than 1/2" of mostly sleet.
  5. Well you made me look. All gasoline offered for sale at retail stations within the state must contain 10% ethanol (E10). This requirement is waived only if a distributor is unable to purchase ethanol or ethanol-blended gasoline at the same or lower price as unblended gasoline. Premium gasoline is exempt from this requirement. It is a good question regarding why we have to burn it and a state like yours that is a heavy producer doesn't? Better lobbying here I suppose?
  6. If the weather cooperated, the Missouri would be a nice trip that could be combined with some history.
  7. It still hasn't materialized here. We've had just enough to cover the ground. So far the anticipation has been worse than the storm. The forecast here is 3-6" of snow tonight. I haven't noticed any real bad wind, but the thunderstorms passed a little south of us.
  8. Not very often fortunately. In '12 we were fishing in T shirts most of the end of February and March.
  9. I assumed he meant wipers.
  10. I've never seen it. It's the high octane premium. I believe by law that is the only grade exempted.
  11. LRF is it heavily treed where you are at?
  12. Our best luck has always been on top, but conditions have to be right.
  13. Great, we have a severe thunderstorm warning with quarter size hail. Where's spring?
  14. I might just do that. It's not like I'm doing anything else with it. At least with with kayaks and canoes if you break a paddle new ones won't break you.
  15. I woke up too what appears to be a very small amount of ice with <1/4" of sleet on top. I haven't had anything since I got up, about 6 AM.
  16. After running my 4 stroke for 3 years on non ethanol and having no problems I started running it on ethanol. After 2 $700 carb rebuilds it has sat for the last 5 years. I haven't run it on non ethanol again because it wasn't available after the last rebuild. This is a carburetor Merc with about 50 hours on it.
  17. I'll trade you ice for snow.
  18. It's like have a couple of hogs in your yard. They root for food.
  19. All of the Conoco's on the east side do and I suspect the ones west do also.
  20. I'm worried about the ice forecast. I've become real fond of electricity over the years.
  21. Untouched by human hands.
  22. I wonder if the kayak boom has affected canoe sales enough to affect the supply side?
  23. That has been my rule for a long time and I haven't broken it in 30 years. When I transferred to OR from Laclede county we were lost as far as where to look. We got a hold of a real estate agent agent and went from there. We were bringing horses and that made a big difference, but in central OR it wasn't hard to find a lot of places with some horse facilities, especially in fairly dense housing. The agent showed us several places, but I just couldn't get excited about them and that frustrated her. She finally ask what the problem was and I simply said I was thing of something a little more isolated. My wife piped up and said "He wants someplace where he can pee off the deck!". We bought the next place she took us too.
  24. Yup, but finding something less than the common chunk rock is paramount.
