  1. My brother in law caught a nice 20" small jaw this past Saturday on a green pumpkin tube. We were fishing in the KC area. We always catch some good smallies in the KC area, so whatever is in that part of the lake they sure like it.
  2. I think I'll stick with the wart, especially at 2 warts for the price of one of these. I do like some of the colors, and the design of the bait. Please report any results after you guys put them to work on the Rock.
  3. I am with you basscat. All we can do is vote the sorry s.o.b. democrats out when the time comes. This country is falling apart under Obama, and the liberal democrats. Surely the people with any intelligence at all know now that voting for him was a huge mistake, other than the people who are on the government tit. The US is rapidly becoming a socialist country under this idiot. I could rant forever on this subject, but the government shutdown is just another example of how screwed up things are.
  4. x2 on the Rogers Cabela's, and the Branson BPS. The fishing dept. at the Branson BPS is a joke. Chris, the fishing Manager at Cabela's does a great job keeping the fishing dept. neat and orderly. You do have to watch the prices on some items, but they are about right on most items.
  5. I with you on this motorman. None of these Zinker Z colors work on the Ned. What is a Ned rig anyway? Thanks for the heads up on the sale Quill.
  6. Good report Quill.
  7. I too like the lighter rods for cranking. It is enough work to sling a large hard pulling crank all day, so the lighter the rod the better. Currently using a 7' abu veritas winch, which is really light, but balances good with the lews reel. Also has a nice soft tip to keep them hooked up. I use a 7' BPS medium action cranking stick for smaller baits, and like it, but it is heaver. Good luck making the right decision.
  8. Good report Duck. What depth were you fishing the drop shot? What type of structure was the best? Were you fishing the spinner bait shallow? Thanks.
  9. Sounds like an issue with the head unit and not the transducer. Did you contact the manufacturer of fish finder?
  10. Great report, and glad you caught some good fish. Thanks for including the pic's from your sonar. I am sure you had a smile on your face when you saw active fish chowing down on shad!
  11. Thank you both for the information provided. I hope that everyone who lives over there is okay, and that it stops raining to give us a chance to dry out.
  12. I am watching the weather very close today, as I plan to leave Rogers about 5:00 pm. What would you advise as far as route? If the bridge is open, and the roads are not damaged, I will take 187 over the bridge to connect to hwy 23. How do you check the status of the beaver bridge? Thanks for your help Duck!
  13. It beats watching it rain at work. The rain will stop soon.
  14. Great read Phil. Thanks for posting it on the forum. I have met Bill on several occasions, and stayed with he and Becky at the lodge. He and Becky are great people, and very up lifting to visit with them. Their lodge is a grand place, they do a great job of hosting guests, and making them feel special. I have never been out fishing with Bill, but I do have plans to go with him soon. He is a credit to our sport of fishing, and does everything he can to educate anglers on the ways of catching fish on the Rock. I read his post very carefully because the information he provides is the most up to date and accurate information you can get. Thanks Bill for all that you do.
  15. I use that route to get to the rock all the time, and am headed over there Friday after work. So the Beaver bridge is damaged, and closed?
  16. Thanks Bill and RPS, great information for summer time.
  17. I am with you on this Quill. I don't spend money on fireworks, so buying some more tackle would be good. I wasn't aware of this company.
  18. Phil, I agree with Bill. Your video was very good, but the other guys were hard to watch. Look forward to more good clips from you, thanks for your contribution to the forum.
  19. Bill, we look forward to hearing about your new pattern if it pans out. Thanks for the report Quill, and I wish everyone a very good Independence Day Holiday! Stay safe if you go out on the lake.
  20. Good report Flyman. Fishing the attractors is a very good idea, we should all pay more attention to them, and fish them more often. Everyone fishes the grub in the spring, but it will put em in the boat at other times also.
  21. Appreciate the info. I don't have any walleye baits, but it sounds like a drop shot with a night crawler would do the job. Good Luck
  22. Sounds like the bite up the James is going good. This is the only report I have read that mentions the depth of the thermocline. I will watch out for the crazies on the 4th, but hopefully they will not be out as early as I will.
  23. Thanks for posting the vid Quill. This will work on the Rock in the right location.
  24. Thanks for the report RPS. What lures were you using to catch the bass deep, and what type of structure?
  25. I have been hitting docks with deep water under them (the deep portion being at least 35') after the sun gets high in the sky. Hit the shady side with a spoon, shaky head or jig. This can be very productive if you can locate the right docks. Several other threads recently from Mr. Babler and Champ have mentioned this. Good Luck.
