  1. I always assumed it was a genetic defect in a small percentage of the population. I guess it could be an injury though, it just seems like these fish can grow and survive with the others which leads me to think genetics. Oh fisheries biologist where art thou?
  2. This thread is going against everything ive ever known about walleye. Thanks for totally confusing me lol. Suspended walleye. Hard aggressive bites.

    hot

When its this hot the most productive method is a jig n crawler. You put on a life jacket. Tie it to ur boat. Hop in the lake and go fishin. have ur buddy run the electric motor. Also the gap between ur chest and the life jacket make a good beer older and a rod holder. Go get em.
  4. A 20$ popper that needs replacement hooks and split rings. It barely floats and is a nightmare to cast. Sounds like really great buy to me!
  5. You can see every spot I fish except 2 from the kcity bridge. The other 2 are within a mile of it.
  6. All bickering aside.....thats a huge buck in your profile picture. Now back to the pitchforks!
  7. I still wouldnt call that heavily pressured water...4-5 boats per point, every point...then a few others in the cove fishing unproductive water cuz they cant squeeze in= heavy pressure. You fishing another point by yourself waiting for someone to leave yours doesnt. seems like there is a lot of excuse making going on here...
  8. Not much, shad raps work just fine. Flicker shads produce better for me, and they are half the cost.
  9. troll flicker shads....coves, main lake, points, rivers/creeks anywhere there is water. Youd prolly even catch a few draggin em behind ur truck on the highway on the way to the lake.
  10. Pressured is totally relative.....I would consider a 100 acre lake that sees 2 dozen bass fisherman every day from march through november to be pressured (twice that on the weekends). The same lake seeing as many meat fisherman keeping any fish they catch regardless of size or creel, or having to wait in line behind 3 or 4 other boats to fish the productive areas is what i would consider pressured. You guys complain when another boat gets within 200 yards of you, heaven forbid the jet skis and other runabouts (like they dont have a right to be there lol). How about 6 or 7 boats in a 200 yard stretch....so ya...i wouldnt consider table rock all that pressured. Too many boats in your area? Gotta "take a number" Go to another area! Or.....take ur number and go in and catch the fish the others left behind.
  11. but bass are so much easier to catch!!! Yes we can all voice our opinions, thats why this forum is fun!
  12. LOL at table rock being a highly pressured lake! Table rock gets a lot of bass fisherman per year, but its 45000 acres for crying out loud. ALso the majority just C/R anyway. There are very large fish and in large numbers in much more pressured waters. Youll prolly catch bigger fish, not by blaming meat fisherman for your own inadequacies, but by practicing.
  13. Our family has fished kimberling city...the same few points and docks every august since 1977. We have kept every legal fish that we have pulled out of there, making for some very large stringers over the years.....oddly enough, they are still there, on those same points, and the fishing is the same. Riddle me this?
  14. You must have a really weak stomach, have you seen a dr about that?

    Boat Size

Happy os or southwinds both up lake a bit and can get outta the wind.
  16. Flicker shads get me mostly crappie n walleye. But plenty of bass catfish and drum.
  17. Sorry rick....i guess its better to just not post ur report. Thanks everyone else for defeating the purpose of this website.
  18. Hehehe

    REALLY?

Yes precisely, actually IDK exactly what they earn...but i do know that an entry level chemist will make about 35k a year, I cant imagine a biologist of the same education level makes much more than that. Sounds like someone has a bone to pick with fisheries biologists. Got an F in science class or something? There are far worse people making way more money than fisheries biologists.
  20. what he said....ive had the same braid on my spinning gear for a few years now, it doesnt even need to be changed.. Its 100% without issue for me. I think guys use too small of spinning reels in general. In my opinion there is no use for a spinning reel smaller than a size 30. Ultralight spinning reels coil line up like a phone cord. I do run 4lb mono on my crappie rods which are 6ft 6inch light power silverhawks...but even those I pair with a size 30 supreme. With the mono i only put a little bit of line on at a time and re spool once a week, after that it goes straight to crap.

    REALLY?

highly paid? Lost me on that one....bachelors level biology degree = 15$/hr Id say if they were in it for the money they would have picked something besides science.
  22. big fan of a weightless wacky worm.
  23. Betcha you were tired of fish guts at the end of all that knife work!
  24. On medium light or light power spinning gear I like 4lb mono but for my medium and med heavy power stuff I use 10/2 braid and 6lb fluoro leader. Ive never once been able to spool fluoro on a spinning realn
  25. You have more trouble with braid than flouro on a spinning reel?
