You been in the shallows as long as I have known you Wrench. And I know no one any better at it. But right now if I could I would be chasing suspended bass in my area over deep channel banks in the evening when they rise to feed on shad. That does not mean on the surface it is often shad schools 10 ft deep are better is where the feeding is going on. That has paid off very well for me when I could locate a school holding in a area of deeper water. A lot of larger bass sispend all summer. Only thing about it s hat it does not last long time. Maybe 1/2 hour at the most. But as far as bass being shallow all summer you guys better believe it. And you can get very very close to them without spooking them as well. You just got to be a bit careful. I got two 7 ft rods one with a heavy jg on it and another with a heavy drop shot on it. when I started doing this I was shocked how close it could get at times. Rght now I do not think it's paying off as well assome other techniques. But fish find comfort and cover Unser a dock even if there is no brush under it. I guess it is just they are where you find them.

Ever see a hummingbird nest ? We had one here in the house for about 20 yrs. Do not know where it is currently. They are very very good at building a nest. They build them out of spider webs then stick litchen on the outside for camo. The inside of the nest is about the size of your four finger. A spider webs wrapped around a branch as they do over and over make a almost indestructible nest and the lichen camo is something very hard to see. I remember one in a tree just off our deck that went through a terrible storm with no problem. Your really lucky to ever see one. For the most part they nest high up in trees. I see them at times collecting spider web for nest from the rafters in my dock in the spring. if you want to see one up close sit down in a chair with a red baseball hat on around a feeder and you might eve inches from your face. We have done that several times. The grand kids love it.

You can get both side of the story off the internet and in the case of legislation actually find out what was in the bill and who put amendments into it. That can be very revealng when it comes to who is helping who. That is better than trusting some talking head is saying or if he even cares if it is rumor or the unbiased truth. Talking heads or not free people they are the slaves of the networks views. I believe the networks or the greatest source of division alone between people in this country.. Mopanfilsher-- there were 12 black delegates at the Republican convention is what was reporded from the floor. While there were many at the Democrate convention. I do not know if that is true or not. Maybe you want to check it out. but the appearance of it does not seem to support any contention that the Democrate were dividing anyone. I also seen people wearing turbans and Moslems in the democratic deligate crowds. I seen of those neither of those in the the republican delegates.Maybe we need to look that up as well. Maybe we would get a better idea of who and what was acceptable

I think the attackers just knew how and the value of faints They did it several times of attack before they did the actual assault. Well Al I agree but I have also noted that most political conversation on this forum are infiltrated by race issues I THINK. You see the Clintons were leaders in civil rights. So it goes without saying she is tight with Obama and therefore is worthy of any and all the scorn these people can muster. Both she and Obama should be praise for how well they handled all he allegations thrown at them. I am for giving her a chance if she is elected. Trump has been nothing but crazy talking. There is one little thing different about LOZ the temperature under docks I'd several degrees cooler on LOZ and even that varies in any given place and time. That is one reason the flippers a d pitchers will beat the casters most days. Thay work the cooler water. Not to sure how this will play on your reports

Your dad was right Mitch it just takes many many years. My father went down in the coal mines at 5 or 6 yrs old because they were under the control of a company stone. That is what I would expect Wrench if I was getting out. But the ones they got in the tournament were shallower than that. They were up at 44MM. The ones my son got off my dock were between 2-4 am. They were all very concentrate along one very dark side of the dock.

I have not left the dock but my son caught 4 keepers Saturday night off my dock. I know the guys around Laurie have all been catching bass. A friend got a 6 1/2 pounder Sunday before last at 11am in 10ft of water. He won a tournament with that one and 3 other keepers.

As I see it there are two classes in this country. The upper and those the upper want to keep the rest in the lower. The lower is getting tired of it. Some of the stuff I have seen both sides expressing sounds civil war like. If we continue on this course we're going to see it.

If you want to just crappie fish under light it is pretty good after the bars close. Between 1-4 In the morning you can catch enough keeper crappie to feed several people at a fish. Fry. If you want to keep them and clean them. In ther right places it is a steady d heavy 3 hrs or more. The key is bring in masses of shad to your area and using them for bait.

Docks to me are sort of like a giant Lilly pad. The wter they recovering is surprisingly cooler thn tht round it even in very hot Wether. Even in shallow water. It is amazing how close you can get to hose fish under dock without poking them.

I think you were just in the right place at the right time. The fronts of those deep docs certainly is the right place at this time of he year. Catch a little bit of shade on the edge and it could even help more. I think if it was me I would work the entire dock area up close no matter what the depth keeping your cast as close to the dock as possible. Sometimes you can just go right up against the dock and let the bait just spool straight down. I do this all the time. Also use very slower sinking plastic worms as well.

Do not go so far as to think all you need is the right light and viola your going to really clean up. Because I will not happen.

No But I sure wish I could of been out on the water in the milder periods. IT is impossible to keep me off the water in a rain.

If you are talking bass. I have a way of catch them with plastics a lot like wrench is discribing. I have a favored place that is a deep channel bank. In the summer bass suspend out there at 20ft or more most of the time. But in mid evening they will rise and feed on shad that are in mid depth schools. You would never know they were doing it unless you catch them at it on a depth finder. Find a place like that and patrol it with a depth finder. If you see them rising throw a slow sinking plastic worm out there and just let it sink. It is also important to get there at the right time since the feed may not last a long time. You might find places like this anytime however by just watching the depth finder for the classic large fish pattern under smaller fish.
