The thing about zebra mussles is. they attach themselves to things with the sharp edges of the shell sticking out. I am just sitting here with my 410 waiting to kill a Armaldillo. My 7th this year just in my immeadiate area alone. Back 7-8 years ago never seen one in my life. They were a animal of areas with a warmer average normal temperatures. Most people arounf here refer to them as vermin. Amd that they are. But the worst vermin on the plant is the human animal. The distruction of all these other vermin. pales by what we do to the planet and each other.

Well we have threats from outside, but you young people on here better pay close attention to what is going on INSIDE the country. Like I said to many people feel de franchised. I may not be here to see it but I fear for my children and grand children. Your very close to loosing it all in this nation and most people do not see it. It is better to stick your head in the sand and say The good old USA will be fine no matter. But you might want to review some history. The people I called de franchised number far far to many. All they need is some kind of leadership and they are going to rise up and your going to have a very bloody civil war. I think the government is thinking the same thing. I think that it is a good part of the reasoning behind arming police with the things they are arming them with. Its has been done in the past by other goverments.

I was not going to post on this thing anymore but. seen this. There is a lot more to patriotism than just talking about it. I would venture to say at least 90% of you have never faced real poverty or discrimination in any form. Those people that try to make a difference in these situations are true patriots because that is where our problems are in this country.

Let me see where to begin. None of you know me and for the most part I do not want to know any of you. Let me start with this. I do not use the internet much and this site was the first one I have used in years. But you might say I was a internet troll. I used to frequent many chat rooms. with different names of teens and other young people.( who's parents allow them to subject themselves to the dangers of those places) and also Went into several senior rooms. let me explain to you the two easiest things to do on the internet are to make a young girl feel like a grown woman and to make a old woman feel like a young girl. That was not my purpose my purpose was to help catch those people pray on these women and girls. And I have aided in catching of a few mostly stalkers. In the days before good policing and laws to back it up I belonged to a organization call Cyber Angels. The organization had direct contact with law enforcement all the way up to the Secret Service and Interpol. That doe not mean me. I reported and those above me took it up. As far as LOZ goes. Well it is my home and I do bot like people insinuating it is a some sort of polluted mud hole. I will let the tournament results speak for themselves. A lot of you think that crystal clear water in Table Rock means it is about pollution free. Well A lot of you have no ides how septic systems work and the way it moves through the ground and effects ground water. I can guarantee you sewage will move a whole lot further than the 300 ft buffer you have down their and the Corp of Engineers knows it. Study about it before you talk about it. I been fishing for over 65 years I have seen more changes. I do not like some of those things. Tournament fishing i do not like. I do not think that really belongs in fishing. Lures and tackle is another area. I grew up with someone who was a pool shark. there were people who wanted to play him for money that he referred to as fish. " I must say I think that applies widely in here. I Got to wonder how many of your over spend on fishing tackle to the point of your family having to make sacrifices. I recently mentioned to someone about something I noticed in a Tackle repair shop I go into go into set on a stool and talk fishing. You know I cannot remember the last time I have seen one of the old round Garcia among several( at times) reels setting on the back counter waiting far parts and to be repaired. I have sen the insides of a lot of these things. Tiny teeth on plastic gears. They are hard and expensive to repair. NOT BETTER by not means. Sure there easy to cast when you lack the ability to learn to cast. And that applies to rods as well. A $25 dollar Cherrywood rod will compare with some highly tooted rods as far as sensitivity and weight are concerned. Then we have lures. A lot of this new stuff coming out is a sales gimmick. I would not know these things about tackle if I would not have lived through that period myself. If I attack something on here it is because I do not like to see people hooked like the fish. If you use one type of lure and throughly understand it you can do very well for yourself. I think many of you are doing nothing more than looking for some miracle. Or trying to keep up with the Jone's . Well there is NOT ONE. Now to you Mr Trophy fisherman. You made post like you were one fine trapper as recall you trapped a 35 lb coon etc. But Could not trap a simple skunk and had to be told the the difference between the face of a Raccoon an Opossum( that one was shocking to me) to see from a trapper hobbyist or not. People in my area will pay me to rid them of vermin if I would accept it. I say that because I shoot a lot of Armadillos right now. Of course shooting does not seem like your thing either since you missed a target at point blank range with a 20 gauge if I recall with 4's in it. Then there is the garbage in the yard. I do not know of anyone living rural that does not have better sense than to put something like that into secure containers at all times. Now about my manhood. I am a veteran. I spent 6 1/2 year in the Navy. I spent several years of that on the flight deck of -a WW II carrier that was flying modern jets ( WW II carriers were to small and never meant to carry aircraft of that size and speed) and while not like a grunt in VN it certainly was no place for the faint of heart. I have skipped around and over more hung ordnance including a 1000 lb bomb that was came of during landing than I can count. I have fought several big gas fires one of them as a hot papa. That time on the flight deck cost me my hearing. Do you have any idea what something like that can do to your future and the struggle you will face in society. I doubt it. I have fought for the rights of disabled people. I have lobbied the state senate and house and served on board of some of the handicap organizations. I have also supervised a unit of 65 people. If you were kidding none of it seemed that way to me. To me you looked like so idiot. And your a bit to full of the BS for me. This is the end for me on this forum. I have no motivation to stay on here.

I have watched this whole thread and to me your either shooting bull are your the worse varmint trapper I ever heard of. Yeah I know you say you trapped a 35 lb raccoon . I want to see a picture of it. I know what a coon that weighed about 30 lbs looked like that one was shot. in a swamps in southern Ga. coon that size could not get his head in your traps. You do not impress me with any of your trapping pictures. If you do not like what I said report it to Lilly.

I am not bashing you I just telling you a truth. If you kept garbage out of the yard you would not have as many critter problems.

I have caught a couple in a box trap around here. One for Oklaterre complex. I used the old blanket cover technique. there does not seem to be many around here. Trophy Fiah R------ You just better get a gun and shoot it or hire a trapper because I have never seen a worse demonstration of attempted trapping or Vermin control in my entire life.

I agree with Gavin. It is sounds like a problem with a part floating around were your reel shaft enters the gear housing. It gets out of line making you reel hard to turn. Then goes back in line and reels fine. that is why it comes and goes. The housing itself might be messed up. Spending money to have it fixed might not help for just a short while if at all.

Wrench... you could get charged with that very easy. Depends on the question of the investigating officer and your answer. Because of the word knowingly. The sheriff rides down this road and never gives these kids 10 yrs old running up and down the county road on golf carts a second glance. Sometimes 5 or 6 kids piled on there.

r There is no waterway connection between LOZ and Pomme. So if they are in Pomme they have gotten there by other means like boats outboard motor intakes and live well tubing that are places very hard to clean. They can get in there and live for days. They do not travel in a shell form anyway. They travel in a minuet larva form. And last but not least the is in LOZ the population is almost non existent at this time.

There arw many more fishermen on the rivers today who probably kill more smallmouth than is known by poor handling. Same thing happens on lakes. Then there is a lot of environmental impact from floater boaters and everyone in and his brother. There are so many problems with are so many problems with our lakes and streams it is hard to address them all.

Anytime I see kids being towed around on water toys and their head and bodies are being jerked. every with way. I wonder what kind of problems those kids are going to have in the future. with all the wakes it is very rough.

Still fisher that just shows how regional the rain has been. My son lives in O Fallon near 40 they. have gotten there share. My daughter lives in Hermann and they. have gotten soaked most of the summer.

In places Wayne. here at LOZ it has been dry. That applies to most of the region as well.

Yes Mitch I can guarantee you it is something with with farms ,livestock in the water shed and cabins along the bank. You could maybe make a long list of what something is.

Mitch it is pretty common to he nipped by bluegill swimming around docks. I was told they are after something on your skin or dry skin. The interesting thing I found was the reaction of the other fish throughout the the fight. I really expected to se some spooking. The other thing I noticed was when the fish hit. I am convinced it was because of aggravation.

There is Luck. Like the old saying about education though there is the 3 R's of fishing. RIGHT PLACE RIGHT TIME and RIGHT WAY. In spite of all the help you ( and hinderance as well ) can get from a a graft. If you do not have the three R 's down that is all you got is luck.

Goggle-eyed. Have you ever stopped by that big rummage sale they have in Versailles every week ?? I have sen some pretty. fine tackle in there a time or two. There is sooooo much stuff every week I got to wonder where it is all coming from. Some of those. peopl I think are there week after week. On another subject. Have you seen the pictures of the headon that killed those 4 people on new hwy 5 bridge. I think that dump teuck was a 10 ton job. The pickup was completely smashed and unrecognizable from being sandwitched between the boat and the truck. There is also burn marks on the bridge retaining wall. I have seen a car hit buy a train and dragged under some box cars and it was not much worse that that pickup they were driving. You could not tell what kind of vehicle it was.

What I was told the next morning was that they just cut it off. I did not get to see the boats thEy had been pulled out.
