Wrench if your post was directed towards me. I am talking about over the history of fishing. Buzz bait have not been around that long. I have no doubt they will preform. I just cannt use them anymore. Never did that much anyway. Had a friend died a couple years back was real big on buzz baits. He would beat my but real good with them all the time. Of course we were in his boat and he was up front running along about 10 ft off the bank casting ahead. Not what I like to do. But in my boat he would loose against a plastic worm or jig.

i agree. I have been at this 70 yrs. My point is you will find out more by yourself. I do question the stuff about fishimg some pattern from the other day. .You cannot rely on them. As most will do. Two words of wisdom I Live by are fish are where you find them and what ever works for you. For me that is jigs and plastic worms for the most part. A book could be written about everything you can do with these two lures. In short you do not have to buy into the stuff that some certain lure and color catches all the fish because somebody had a good day. But someone else might been out there had a even better day with something else.

A jig has caught more lunker bass than anything else except maybe a plastic worm. I think spinner baits are pretty far down the list. Lunkers are not really up to chasing thing by here nature though they might. But that only answers with what. It does not answer the where and were sides of the triangle.

They are silersides Wrench. They have really came on like gang buster this past year. i have tried netting them when fishing night under light. Crappie seem to hate them. They were about 90% at least of the schools of bait fish in my dock under light.

That is a might big question. One that your only going to learn by a awful lot of fishing experience. You see some guys like to fish deep like me otjer guys never go beyond 10ft. Then there is weathef, seasonal patterns and many otger aspects to numerous to mention. You just got to get out there due it. There really are no shortcuts. Fish are where you find them. I go along with Mitch on this. I understand peole like Babler are in bussiness down there. That is really the underlying reason this forum functions. I will not tell you anything about LOZ as for as specifics go. I rarely even discuss technique.

Big basx are hunting not fishing. It also takes lot of perservierance. You can also forget the reaction bite with lunkers for the most part except diring the spawn. Its all about being in the right place at the right time with the right presentation. Your going to have for more failures than sucessful outings.

Here on LOZ I regard fishing for catfsih as a poor mans salt water experience. I use spoons and 10 lb test line. Sort of hunt them you might say. Have caught blues to 49lbs doing this. More that I can count over 10. It is a really satisfying thing to do on a light bait casribg outfit.

Best thing is to keep a positive outlook. Do not assume the worst.

Wrench----- The he-- with all this. I have to get up about 5 for my treatment and looked out that window at that flat lake with soft warm rain coming down and I really wanted to go. I cant , but I sure hope you did. I bet there were more some dandy bass eating baits around there.

Yeah I know about woodpeckers and Oriales. But somemale is going to take over that feeder. He will then perch himself nearby and raise the dickens with any other hummer that goes near it. It is really a futal attempt since they lead him away and get to the feeder anyway. That goes on all summer. Then later they share pretty well. They are a tuff little bird. Below is a picture of one of our ant feeder protectors. I can make one in about 10 minutes. IT is nothing more than a turn buckel and a cheap plastic cup. You bore a hole in the center of the cup put sealer on both sides and put the washers in the sealer on both sides then tighen it down and put your water in there they will last for many years.

I counted 9 last evening all fussing about a skngle feeder on the corner of the house when there are 2 other feeders as well not far away.

Mark--Wrench is not anti handicapped. I have known him a long time and I have what is a life limiting handicap. He is one of the few people in this community that accepts me for what I am. Around here in areas due to poverty you find a lot of truly depressed people and a lot of people that do not even try to improve themselves and prefer the dole. It is the same situation you will find in black communities. I think wrench is saying a lot of people are using the drugs as a excuse. That is what i believe his point is. I got a Yamaha 115 4 stroke,though it calls itself mercury. Thre time trouble with fuel system. You got achoice burn only E91 or put about 1 oz per gal of sea foam in the gas. E87 will clog those tiny intake jets very fast. I did nether. In the future I will. Other than that engine is 16 yrs old and starts fast as my car and runs real good now.
