  1. Only after we stole the land they had lived on for over 10,000 years. But it wasn't just Oklahoma we/ our forefathers stole North America from them and what would happen if something like that was to happen in our society today?
  2. Great report Bill. Wish I had gas money to put my boat on the water. These DANG bills keep coming in and since injured my back two years ago I haven't had my boat on the lake but twice. Yes I am bumming but I try to keep a smile on my face.
  3. Are you the Ned head maker known as Dave?

  4. Are you the "Dave" that is the maker and king of the Ned head jig? I am trying to find the man who has the mold for the Ned heads.. Thanks,Scott.

  6. 86 Phantom Green , V63 Natural green craw, or v47 brown craw are the bet IMHO.
  7. I would like to have some of your old warts and especially any with a clear bill. V86 ,V63, V54 or watermelon red I would pay dearly for any of the above colors.
  8. Any 6'8"-7' med action baitcasters. looking for a new jerkbait rod or two.
  9. Maybe we could get MDC to put a $1.00 bounty on every gar brought to a comercial marina, dead or alive.
  10. Thats my go to color when using jerks to catch fish, unless the sky is bright and sunny then i have to have something a little lighter in color and more flash. Great bait tho. Super pics of some of TRL finest fish. That spot is a tank.
  11. Was your better fish caught on the 10" worm or shaky head? Possibly the creature bait? How deep was the better fish? Nice bag and congrats on your trip Unimog.
  12. Best i have caught was an 8-12 caught in 1998 Aunts creek on 4" salt craw in Junebug color in about 4' of water and it was around 10:00 PM. how is that for detailed memory. cant tell you what i ate for lunch yesterday tho....lol
  13. Thanks for the info. I agree with you Jason, fish are scattered in depth and I believe most are done spawning on TR. Sounds like you have had some quality fish as well. Any on single spin? I use to catch some big ones at night on a black single spin with a pork frog trailer in blue or black. I believe the night bite will just get better in the weeks to come.
  14. I pour my own shaky heads for myself and a few friends. I came across some lead at the right price and will pour you some cheaper than most stores sell them for. I use Mustad hooks and can make 1/16 oz. thru 5/8 oz. I also can paint the heads with a powder coated paint that is very tough. I use a spring style bait holder that attaches to the hook before it is poured and holds your favorite Plastics great. Or if you prefer I can leave the bait holder off which I recommend if using the Z-man elastic plastics. Call for pricing on large orders, 3 dozen or more. Otherwise they sell for $8.00 a dozen unpainted and $12 a dozen for painted heads. Call Scott at 417-827-6987 leave a message if I can't answer and I will return your call same day if possible.
  15. Has anyone had a recent night fishing trip with five bass over 15lbs.? I fished two different night last weekend and caught several bass, mixed bag of small mouth and large mouth but nothing big. Best one was under three lbs. Will it get better in the month of June? Will the better fish stay out deep or pull up shallow on points to feed? Does anyone catch big fish on single spins anymore? I haven't spent much time on the water at night the last few years but I used to really sack some good fish at night and some up shallow. Please post any info you will share.
  16. I have spent the last three weekends on TR and I have to say that last weekend, which was Memorial weekend I fished the mouth of the James area to KC area and I have never seen as many big pleasure boats and off shore big boats. I really wish I had went to Stockton. I know the main lake up there can get rough due to wind but it can't hold a candle to TR as far as party boats, jet skies and house boats. Btw where are the surfacing whites at? I fished from 7:00 pm until midnight and back out at 6:00 am til 11:00 am. Best fishing for numbers was at night but bigger fish in mornings. All caught on jigs, shaky heads and plastics in 10'-20' of water. Best fish was a 3.7 lb LM caught at 10:00 am don't think we had more than 5 K's all weekend. Most was LM and Small Jaws. Average trip we would boat 15-20 bass per outing. Not the best but I have seen worse.
  17. Can we agree that some like to crappie fish, others prefer catfishing,i love bass fishing. Point is i have a passion for fishing. I know nothing about Muskie or Northern Pike....But i would love to learn more and catch one once in awhile. I would even go as far as to trade a bass fishing trip for a muskie fishing trip. There is nothing wrong with learning something new. I admitt i will keep a few fish in the winter months to eat but i will turn loose 10:1 for every fish i eat. So any of you muskie fishermen want to learn a little maybe from an avid bass fisherman in trade for a muskie fishing trip? Give me a shout and we will plan it.
  18. I guess you fished around the main lake? Water looks clear is why i say that. I have been told that the spinnerbait and buzz is working up in the river arms pretty good for 2-3lb bass. Love that wart bite. Good report 9lb.
  19. Or you can buy a higher quality reel and tune it and keep it lubed and use the correct size line and correct wighted baits made for your rod and reel and dont ever cast into the wind and that backlash stuff wont happen nearly as often. Buy Lews is my best advise. Chew tobacco, chew tobacco,SPIT
  20. Great report. I have been wanting to go on an afternoon -night trip down on Tanle Rock and will either fish Aunts or down towards the dam. I like Aunts at night so unless i hear different i will go there.
  21. These all have the stamp "wiggle wart" under the bills. i have many others, these are the rougher ones. I have some of the original red label still sealed in original box. Yes they are higher but heck they are like 40 years old and never been opened.
  22. In reply to your post on the warts ..I have over 60 pre rapala warts and i was looking for some of my rough ones to have painted, needless to say before i spent $ to have them painted i wanted to test run them to make sure they "hunt" correctly aka track side to side but overall an even side to side track.. So i took a dozen or so to the lake and i had a couple that ran off to one side and after a closer look i could see that the tying ring was bent or on an angle...so i started bending the wire loop that the split ring goes on in the opposite direction. If it runs to the right bend it to the left just 1-2 degrees at a time and cast and retrive and "TUNE" your cranks not just warts but any crank will sometimes get out of tune. I have never seen one that couldn't be tuned to run like new or better tho. Key is bend very little at a time and repeat until it "hunts" straight back to the boat. BTW warts work better at a slow retreve most of the time..5:4-1 gears or so . Give them a try when the water gets below 60 degrees and hold on. Good luck and tune tune tune. Words of the day: you can tune a piano but you can't tune a fish...<*((((=<
  23. Best i can do is $10 for a couple of them. Call me if you want to talk about it where and when.
  24. Some old warts for i am willing to sell as the wart bite is just starting to get going.
