How does the law not protect the resource?

Geeze people find a reason to gripe about anything.. If you feel for them on it's hard to breath out of water.. Why catch them in the first place.. If you catch them they are out of water. I don't think a pic or the carpet is going to hurt them if it's a short amount time. Hooks do more damage than that... Should we ban hooks? Man caught a good limit and took a picture.. find something else to complain about.

You can't tell me the show he did with KVD was not fun to watch. The under water camera of the small mouth hitting the A-Rig was one of the best! The Sun fish show from yesterday was pretty cool as well. Like I said to each their own.. Of course they are going to push products that's the name of the game. You can watch a lot of fishing reports for TR and get the same thing in regards to people pushing products.

What Gear Ratio .. reel wise have you found works best?

Man people are quick to throw stones.. I think both shows are great shows and are a change from what the traditional fishing shows have been like. The bring energy and also a lot of tips. I guess to each their own.. but one thing is for certain they must be doing something right because they have a successful fishing show and are getting to do it for a living with big time sponsors. Would have liked to have seen more than just drop shot n but this was a show tailored to his kids which very glad to see someone showing a good example of what being a father is like on TV. Don't see that much these days..

Crankbait Bite is always fun especially when the Big Gals are bite n. 7.4 Caught today and man thought I would never get that fish in.

I need some direction on teaching my son to fish and to keep him interested in the sport. Maybe I am over thinking this but I just wanted to here some advice from others. I did not have a Dad that taught me how to fish... Not trying to make excuses just the card life handed to me. Everything I have learned fishing and hunting has been on my own and something I did not start until after High School. So it's hard for me sometimes to pass on to my son because at his age I was not learning. The hunting part no problems.. but the fishing part can be tough and I don't want to make it boring when the fish are not biting. I fish Table Rock and he goes with me and I try to make it fun and teach him something each time we go. I also take him creek fishing and it seems to be paying off. He is ate up with fishing right now and I don't want to lose this chance. I currently have him fishing with a spinning reel/rod setup but his birthday is coming up and he will be 13. He wants to start using a bait caster. What setup should I get him... 6'6 with a Lew's is what I was thinking but whats the best technique to start a youngster out with? I have put him on the top water bite and he is throwing a popper and casting wise he is very good... but nothing with a baitcaster setup yet. I know how to fish but still learning everyday but it really has hit me hard on wanting to be able to teach my son and give him something I never had. I am not too proud to ask for advice...
