I have Cara's, Low Riders and Bucco's and I can't tell much difference to be honest with you. If I'm flipping a jig or baits into brush i'll have all 3 on my boat and it doesn't make a rats difference to me which one I grab I think they are ALL 3 great rods. I think the Bucco's might just be the best rod value in all of fishing. Just my 2 Cents.

here is about all I tie anymore. 1)sculpin ginger 2)sculpin peach 3)sculpin amber 4)black and olive 5)white there are others I tie some and try like sculpin purple, sculpin wine, white and burnt orange etc but day in and day out those 5 colors produce for me each and every trip and cover about any range of water conditions I think I will face. on the peach, and amber I like an orange head. I used to tie all kinds of off the wall color patterns that looked "cool" but these 5 pretty much cover me in any situation I think I might be in.

is it a regular winch or a toro winch?

May give some jig fishing a shot around short creek some night if its not to foggy. Would prefer to fish the jogs straight if they will bite it that way.

off topic a little........if one was going to fish from fall creek to cooper creek after dark what would be a good bait Phil? will they see or pick up on a jig in the dark good enough to fish it?
-
I saw he's working one a 3 step version that I think would be awesome. Like I said it's a solid made product and they have good service and I know alot of people like their ladders. It just wasn't for me I would of been turtle bait if I had relied on it without trying it.

I've been watching this thread and trying to decide if I wanted to write or not. Guess I will. Several years ago I fe6l out of a Ranger bass boat and if I had been alone probably wouldn't have gotten back in. I have a Tracker now and I decided I needed a ladder cause I fish alone a lot. I'm on BassBoatCentral quite a bit and a lot of guys there suggested the All Aboard Ladder. It seemed really attractive because it mounts using the engine bolts that are already on the boat so no drilling into the boat. Well I put it on and a couple months went by and a couple weeks ago it was hot so I decided to try it out. Well I was in 10 feet of water and let me tell you there was no way in hell I was getting back in the boat with that thing. I tried everything, so my brother to his delight had to tow me to shallow water (he videoed the whole thing making fun of me). Once in water that I could touch the bottom I could get in then. It's a very well made product so I'm not bashing it and I'm guessing if you weren't as fat as I am you might be able to make it work. BUT it sure opened my eyes when I couldn't get back in with nothing on but a swimsuit and a life jacket. what would of happened if I had coveralls on and the water was 45 degrees? So last week I bought a 4 step telescoping ladder that goes down into the water almost 4 feet. It's not the prettiest thing in the world but I got back in the boat in about 10 seconds with very little effort this past weekend using it. I'm confident now if I go in I'll be able to get out. Just wanted to share my experience, I'm not bashing the All Aboard but I'm asking you to seriously consider how good of shape your in before you buy one and also if you do buy one you better practice with it. For me I didn't mind putting a couple holes in my boat for safety's sake! I'm going to attach the one I bought, it was only about $82 on Amazon I believe and it's extremely sturdy. I have no dog in this fight other than my experience I thought I would share.

No no that's not necessary

ok okay it was May 31st's one cast from this year. in the last 30 seconds I come from being in the trophy area in my tracker, you can't see me wave but if you listen as they cut to the picture of Duane you can hear my motor go from 34 smoking miles an hour to zero and I whip the boat around to the left......it catches Phil's attention and he says "kids are having fun".......which was way better than "than dumb $$$ in that red tracker was waving at me and almost tboned a family........... ahahahahha
-
I'm not saying cause it was one of the most embarrassing moments of my life.

i'm gonna throw a small funny in on this topic. when I was there on vacation I was going by Phils.....I watch the one cast everyday. Well as i'm going by I see Phil doing the one cast on the dock. I know all my buddies at home watch also so I start waving at the camera and watching him while i'm on plane.......sure as heck I look up and i'm about to Tbone another dang boat. It wasn't to close but it sure embarrassed me. I got the whole thing on camera on my boat also. It wasn't that close really but it's kinda funny now that i'm waving at Phil's one cast trying to have my boys back home see me and then almost whamo.....

Are the buoy's at Scotties no wake from the dock to the buoy or are they no wake clear across the lake? They are already almost all the way there though but was curious?

Lilley's Lake Taneycomo fishing report, June 4
Travis Swift replied to Phil Lilley's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
I'll tell you what I felt like I had the run from fall creek to the cable down pretty dang good last year. I ran it this past week and I'm not lying there is a "pucker factor" in about 3 spots this year that I didn't worry about much last year..... the narrows, just past KOA and the island before the cable. Now Phil and Ducky run it all the time so it's no issue for them but for a guy there a couple weeks a year it's pretty darn scary stuff to be honest. -
I ran/idled etc all the way from below the landing to get into clearer water yesterday up in the trophy area. Dinged my prop up a little to but my oh my was it worth it. Had multiple fish from 16 to 19 inches on white jigs. One of the best days I've ever had up there actually.
-
We got another good one this morning. I'm assuming they dumped some of thr broad stock in this weekend.
-
Caught a 22 1/2 inch rainbow (my biggest ever) yesterday on my 2nd cast of the trip. Trout magnet under a float with 2 pound test. Caught it below the landing. Released healthy as can be to fight another day. Still got a week to go. Caught a few at the landing this morning on jigs. Not getting to serious about fishing till Tuesday after the crowds clear out then I hope to fish the trophy area quite a bit.
-
I hope they run 4 units this week so I can get to the cable:)
-
congrats that is a beautiful giant fish!!!

That's a great report and great pictures. Thanks for sharing and congrats on a great week! Taney is a special special place!

I'm a big falcon fan as well as I have around 20 of them. I have caras, bucco micro, regular bucco, Jason Christie and original models. For around $100 the buccos are absolutely awesome rods to me. I love my Caras as well but they are double the price. I continue to buy both models depending on my needs in rod. You can buy used ones on Texas Fishing Forum and Bass Boat Central as well. Sometimes some awesome deals if your willing to wait and then fast on the trigger when you see something you really want.

if you tried the zman 4 inch finesse worm cut down a little it would be a much smaller diameter than the zinker z therefore may work better. I pour my own ned heads to, I could maybe pour some with a smaller hook for you guys to try if that would help
-
trout hollow had a tournament this weekend so that was probably some of the reason for so much boat traffic.

there's quite a few stocker rainbows that take bait a little to deep and die and you talk about an easy quick meal for a monster sized brown. I'm also in agreement with Phil that lower end is a tad warmer for the monster browns, it's wider, they don't have to fight the current as much plus they also have small sunfish and other small fish to eat down there as well. I really want to throw a swimbait down there for big browns, problem is when you only get 15 or so days on that lake a year it's hard to give us a day of jig fishing to try for that 1 giant bite. Now onto that bass comment......I've ALWAYS wondered if there were some 10 pound or bigger bass down there eating rainbows, they do it everywhere else in the country that have small rainbows why wouldn't they there? I have a buddy that has a dock down below branson and he swears every year there are a couple 8 to 10 pound bass under his dock for a week or two a year and he's from Texas so he knows what big bass look like.
