Talked to the MDC fisheries guys on 10-18 they had several nets set for 3 day's around the lake, crappie numbers were very good and a lot of crappie were caught, example of one net directly across form Nemo ramp was approx 70 in three day's , I fished all day the 18th and got 1- 10" and 1 - 6" guess the net fishing is a lot better.
Was wondering about the Larry R Gale access and the Brown Bend access on the west side of LOZ. Mostly what the water conditions are and if it is friendly to glass boats.
Finally retired and moved to MO sure hope to enjoy all the state has to offer Iowa born and raised, Bow hunting deer and fishing are my hobbies, will be exploring the lakes around Weaubleau as much as possible.
Good reading on Crappie reports Wife and I were at the lake Tues first time at lake seems like a nice place mostly ran around to see the lake fished some and found a bunch of fish feeding in a cove they were coming up from the bottom and hitting i think minnows the bird screen was just loaded with streaks coming up from the bottom never got a bite tried several things but did have a good time checking out the lake will be fishing it a lot during the week just need to find where we can get minnows up until the freeze comes.
Haven't fished the Rock for years and planning a vacation this month. when we were there about ( 25) yrs ago there was NO sceeters ( biting bugs) out at nite is this still the case? i have read that there arn't any around the lake at nite, we lived in Tulsa for nine years and i fished mostly at nite and never got bit, sure hope this is still the case.
