We fished all day in price branch. Stayed in the upper third running mostly square bills and ended up with 10 keepers with a 4 lber in the mix. We were pretty happy with that. Saw the same trees several times but kept hammering them and it paid off.

Bo, I was in the very upper end of Big Creek Friday night and believe it or not a boat pulling 2 kids on a tube made a big circle up there while on plane and headed back downstream. I am talking 2 to 3 feet of water in the middle of the creek where they ran thru, absolutely crazy. So shallow there that I had to idle only with the motor trimmed up to exit the area. Their boat actually mudded up the middle of the creek in the process. I had a jet ski up there too! People just don't have any sense at all

Great explanation on how to care for the fish. One thing we started using a few years ago was when we caught the deeper fish or even a fish that seemed stressed in the livewell was to add the weight clips to their belly fins to hold them upright in the livewell for awhile. Doing that along with cooler water and the bubbler system seems to work really well. I have found that once they have been held upright for awhile that they will be fine also. I know that we need to be vigilant about taking care of them.

I think you have a great point and unfortunately Bill is correct too. The summer tournament fishing does take a toll on our fish population. I like what Joe and the gang at Mill Creek have done with the lower fish limit but, there still begs a question. Should we take even more desperate measures during these months. As far as my boat, I bring fresh water from home in my livewell, put some ice in it to cool it and also treat the water and as Bo stated run a bubbler too and I don't seem to have any fish mortality however with that being said...if I cool these fish down and then release them back into 80+ degrees surface water, whats to say that that alone won't stress them to the point that they don't survive? I'm just speaking from a point of reality, it also won't be popular either but, still true. I would be interested what anyone else has to say on this. Jay

Bo, the Campbell Point shindig was pretty humbling last night. You would have smoked everyone. 12 lbs won with a little over 6 in the money. Had 27 boats. BB was 3.31. We were in 5th with a little over 7 lbs in 3 fish, one 6 fish limit was weighed in. Tough

Yes, it has...we know that what we are putting together will work, we are doing the finishing stages of design which mostly is working on reduction of costs to produce our idea. Sorry if anyone was offended of me sort of hijacking this thread for gain...it just kind of seemed to fit the conversation. I was reading along thinking wow, I know we can help reduce the problem. Bill, What if there was a way that boat dock owners (fisherman and ski enthusiasts) could safely store all their equipment on their dock when they were ready to leave it without fear of having it stolen or vandalized. I am talking about fishing tackle, electronics, ski's, etc., the stuff that isn't tied down to their boat. I am curious to hear what everyone would first think of that capability and second what they would expect to pay or feel that it was worth paying for. My partner and I have a plan being drawn up as I speak of a way to know that your equipment will be there when you return to use it. Without going into much detail at this point, we are still waiting on some attorney work and things before we announce anything yet but, being dock owners ourselves we know that this problem isn't going away anytime soon and feel we can help resolve it. As I stated earlier I would be curious what how everyone would embrace that idea and what price people would be willing to pay to have that insurance. Jay

My preference is just plain old green mono for my night time spinnerbait fishing, usually 20 lb test. No blacklight as many times the boat is fairly close to the bank and don't want to advertise to the fish that I'm there. I keep the troller down low and slow constantly moving with minimal movement and noise in the boat to help in that. This way I can feel fish my way along, this is just what works for me. The mono allows a little more stretch on the hook set if I get on the bite a little too quickly and I am just not very good with floro. I have a tendency to break it. Again just my experience, hope its a help.

Champ, I won't argue with you, the War Eagle is a great bait too. I carry them all the time and use them, my point was that Black Widow (for me) allows me to slow down some and I can fish that thru more junk than the War Eagle which takes me back to more like the old ways, the way I learned how to spinnerbait fish. With the ability to change the jig head and skirt color with ease, the Black Widow is a real handy bait to use. Most of the time I keep a War Eagle on one rod and a Black Widow on the deck when I'm fishing the spinnerbait. All this talk about it makes me want to go throw one tonight! Ha Ha

. This is spot on info. The Black Widow by Nutech does exactly as you have stated. My dad made his own single spin spinnerbaits for years with a similar design and they were always big fish baits. (The lunker board at Campbell point proved that in the 70's). Bo's design is much better than those old handmade ones my dad made and its already been stated that they will almost never break or tear up. IF you are even halfway serious about catching them on a spinnerbait after dark you need a Black Widow tied on.

Bo, I remember that happening to you. Absolute nonsense today. During the big bass derby in may this year I was knocked off my feet by a guy in one of the big boats. Funny thing was that was at the Blue hole on Kings River.

Had the same fun experience last Saturday in the Indians with the camp kids. Took my wife fishing and was fishing near the camp cove. At one time 6 jet skis and 2 ski boats loaded with who knows how many came blasting out of the cove one after another. It was chaotic at best. They all started in the back of the cove, of course way behind the no-wake bouys and raced out into the main water area and did circles and you name it. It was crazy and just plain stupid. We picked the best time and got out of there, loaded the boat and went home. It is terrible, just terrible. Bull Shoals is sounding good to me

Wonderful topic..I had the great fortune of fishing with my dad in the early days of table rock. Spent many days and nights in the old richline and had the opportunity to dip lots of fish for him. I don't know if that made me a better fisherman but I got real good with the dip net. He taught me so much about fishing and how to love the outdoors. I so appreciate his time with me and today he and I still go some but can always catch a few no matter where we are. I have been able to take my son to the same spots that my dad and I fished when I was little and have been successful in doing that. I don't think that I have been able to teach my son as much on dip netting as my dad did me but it has been great. I am so fortunate to have had the chance to do what I have been blessed to do. Thanks Dad for taking me, teaching me and loving me.

Thanks Alex, I assumed that was why you used the 15 floro. I will give that a try and is an interesting thought. I have read where others are using higher pound test floro for the same reasons but, just hadn't broke down and tried it. Thanks for the insight

Alex, in your opinion. Do you like the 15 floro because just pure invisibility or easier depth control or easier castability? Or other reasons?

Yeah I hear there aren't any fish in schooner anymore so there isn't any need in going in there. Fisher has the same problems
