  1. For the money and action I like the Zoom swimming fluke juniors on 1/8 oz heads as long as the hooks are big enough. if not increase head size to get the right hook. I also prefer braid 50 to 65 lb test
  2. I totally understand on the unfamiliar after dark. you mentioned you were staying in the KC area. One doesn't have to venture far in that area to get on them day or night.
  3. The night fishing is just about perfect that time of year!
  4. I meant to comment to Hazbin and my thumb was to quick. you are spot on about the nujig. I have committed to fishing only the nujig this last many months and the result for me is that I don't carry any other jig now. It will do anything I ask of it. I have even been able to fish the same jig for several trips without losing it because of its ability to be so weedless. Great colors to choose from too. Their swimming jig is a great bait also.
  5. Glad you are back at it Bo. I miss those reports.
  6. Glad you got to go Bo. Just tell your doctor it was "therapy". Good report
  7. Thanks for the update on H Hwy. I knew it was supposed to be considered okay. But had to ask. Thanks for the input on the other ramps. I had to rebuild my motor and I'm getting ready to run it this weekend. Just checking it out
  8. So have you launched at H Hwy ramp since the shutdown? I wanted to go down there but didn't want to find it blocked off
  9. Awesome day Sprint. Good job...
  10. Campbell point ramp is like the Diamond City ramp. Each side of the ramp has big shot rock for your launching pleasure also. Dumb idea especially when the lake is at or above 916 which is the New normal. Hard on trailers, tires and props. In the past under higher water levels launching there wasn't a big deal however that isn't the case today.
  11. Suppose we can get a 5 dollar refund off of our annual launch tax oh I mean "pass" every time we launch while the park is "shutdown"? Just a thought
  12. Considering the entire lake project was funded by taxpayer money and continually supported by the same over time. Then they gouge us with the launch fees and so we purchase an annual pass to avoid having to stop at the shack on our way to fish and add more cost to our already paid for launch ramp. Press forward to this fiasco and they want to block the ramp of our choice when we want to fish when we have the opportunity. I am not staying home, I'm going fishing. Sorry for ranting, I'm just fed up with it
  13. The slip sinker trick above the nujig really does work. I have learned this from Bo and always do this when trying to achieve a faster fall rate or looking for deeper depths. It will save you lots of lost fish throwing the jig. Make sure you have something like a hollow bead between the sinker and the line tie on the jig to protect the knot. You can go on you tube and type in Nutech Lures or Nujig to see some other ways to improve your fishing and catching ratios
  14. On the losing jigs topic, I have to agree that you do need to retie often however there is a jig being made in Cassville, mo that has changed the way I jig fish completely. I have fished with the same head for multiple trips. The Nujig by Nutech lures will fish through just about anything you throw it into. From buck bushes to deep trees, if you get it caught in a fork of a limb, just take your time and it will nearly always shake free unlike most conventional jigs that roll over and hang....be ready you might get it taken away from you by a big fish in the mean time. It may cost a little more than homemade but, you will fish them a long time...Just my two cents worth.
