darn those look clean! Do you have to register your boat if you add a trolling motor? I am assuming you will have to have some additional lighting as well if you do.

I am in! How much for a seat in HW's jetboat? I have a trailer and could help shuttle the kayaks/canoes to and from if needed. I have planned many April trips and saw a lot of them cancelled due to heavy rain and high water but I am down for whatever.

I imagine it's much like a car or truck. It can be done but not without being a huge PITA.

I bought a used trailer without a title to haul my kayaks and I just registered it as a homemade trailer and it was easy peasy. All I had to do was get it inspected.

I think you should get a painting of Bob Ross painting a painting of Al Agnew painting Bob Ross. Just made my brain sore thinking about this scenario.

GD math...corrected

I love it too! I don't know why I don't buy line in bulk. I still buy 250yds at a time! I am convinced my daughter thinks I am a moron for spending .10 a yard on line but the heart wants what the heart wants, right?

I have a pair of Hestra Gore-tex mittens that are perfect for really cold weather fishing. They are for legit mountain climbing but they certainly do the trick when cold water fishing. They even have handcuffs so I can quickly slide them on and off without losing them if I need to do something bare handed. I also have tried the Hot Hands taped to the inside of my wrist and that seem to help a bit if you are wearing lighter more form fitting gloves. I have been thinking about a fishing rod with a built in heater in the grip. With every turn of the reel, it would power the small hand warmer in the rod. I mean this really isn't a bad idea, right?

I figured that was the secret to your success so I have one of my own already

I have to tip my hat to @MOsmallies and @Fish24/7. Mosmallies left some tackle on my doorstep last week and got me started with a new box, lures, and terminal tackle and Fish24 /7 offered to send me some as well. I am truly humbled by the generosity fellas.

I floated from Riddle Bridge to Boiling Spring in one day last October but it would have been a much better two day overnight-er. It is scenic and pretty peaceful in the fall, we didn't see one boat last year when we went. Fishing was decent but we had to blow through a lot of water just to finish before it was pitch black. If you need some more details on a shuttle, feel free to PM me.

I have been watching FB Marketplace (and Craigslist) like a hawk and set alerts to notify me of anything with the keywords tackle, lures, bait, fishing, etc. Like @MOsmallies said, I am sure all of that crap means nothing to them and they are probably clueless about the real value of all that gear. The thought of it getting pawned for $20 bucks makes me flipping angry.

Thanks, you are certainly right about that. Having a kid certainly changes the way you look at things too. While I am pissed this happened, I care about their safety above and beyond any fishing gear or other things that were taken. I may never get anything back but I can certainly make sure it doesn't happen again.

I am interested to see what pops up on mine. I honestly hope these bastards come back for more. If my cameras don't catch them, I will.

It is awful, you start to realize all of the stuff you have put in your tackle box over the years. My new long needle nose pliers...gone. New bottle of line conditioner.....gone. Spools of fishing line....gone. Gopro mounts....gone. Stuff that wasn't expensive but that you completely forgot about! I didn't notice until last night but they also got my Costas which were hanging from my mirror. They did leave my Yeti cup that was in my cupholder so there's that I guess.....
-
I just ordered two Nest cams for the front and back of my house. Hopefully they work because those suckers are expensive!
-
This is my first time, I always though it would never happen to me. Over time I will replace all of this stuff but it still doesn't give you back your piece of mind.
-
I remain somewhat hopeful. I wouldn't know where to start fencing all of that tackle!

Since I know many of you on here pay attention to fishing gear that goes up for sale, I figured I would throw this out there..... Some time between 6pm yesterday and 7am today, my car was broken into. Initially I thought all they did was take some money I had in my console but when I opened the back of my Jeep, I noticed they stole all of my tackle bags and boxes. I had just made some plans to take my kayak out on Wednesday and had started packing my car for the trip to the river earlier that day. I had a Spiderwire tackle bag, 2 Bass Mafia bait coffins, a couple waterproof Plano boxes, and a Browning binder filled to the gills with soft plastics. Like most of you on here, I have spent a lifetime accumulating all this tackle and had quite a lot invested in everything. I am thankful I took all my rods and reels in to re-spool so they didn't get pinched along with everything else, but if anyone spots someone selling a bunch of higher end tackle, please give me a shout. I know the police have better things to do so I am trying to do what I can. Lock your monkey dodo up fellas. These bums will take whatever. Guess it is time for some security cams!

I know some kayak guys who like them a lot. I am too big of a klutz to have my smart phone out on the water to look at the screen all day. Not to mention, it must be a huge drain on your batter having your bluetooth and screen on when you are actively looking for fish. @Gavin I have seen some people adapt the kayak mounts to john boats and you cannot beat them for portability. Here is a decent DIY one with a Pelican case as a battery holder/GPS/FF mounted on top. Not sure if you have a good flat space to mount, but an idea like this could / should work with some creativity.

Can someone please measure this against a canoe paddle for reference?

I used one of those old school foggers, I am pretty sure this wasn't the intended use but I did it anyway! I went back out where I was stung by 8-10 of them and just set the fogger right next to the hole. After seeing 30-40 fly out and die, I realized that I was pretty lucky that I only got stung by what I did. It feels like a hot ember just lands on your skin when they bite you.....it's the worst.
