  1. Yeah I'm in. I'll do some mini hoppers if that's OK.
  2. What kind of Bluegill flies you looking for? I'll get in.
  3. Where would be a good place to stay if I tried to make a couple days of this?
  4. I've been checked 3 times in the last couple years, at 3 different places (Stockton, Capps creek and Spring river). The agent that checked me at Spring river came out of the woods along the bank quite a ways from any public access. Startled me when I heard a voice from the other side of the river behind me, thought I was the only one out there so I paddled over and said "where the heck did you come from?" He was nice enough, but seemed disappointed that I had a valid license. It doesn't bother me a bit to get checked, it's actually kinda nice to see at least some enforcement out there, and I've got absolutely nothing to hide. The ones at Stockton (2 agents at the boat ramp) got in the boat after we pulled it out and counted the fish in both livewells.
  5. Looks like I'm gonna be doing more fishing on Sundays this fall. Pathetic.
  6. It'd be difficult to come up with enough tags to make a meal.
  7. I bought a pair of Columbia Drainmaker II's this spring and I'll buy another pair when these wear out. Perfect for my purposes (kayak/wade fishing). Very good wet traction and quick drying.
  8. Guess so.... It's just the book I have. Free if you want it.

    Howdy!

Welcome to the forum. I can't top ^^^^that.
  10. You're thinking of that Al fellow. Ted wasn't a very nice guy at all, Florida put him out of our misery many years ago.
  11. Yeah thanks. I've got his cell # and will definitely meet up with him for some fishing when I get back over there. We talked about that a little bit right after he found it, and he is definitely one of the quality people! Don't know how many pointers I'll be able to give, I just got back into the flyfishing thing last year after quite a hiatus...but I'll sure offer any assistance I can.
  12. Tragic. http://www.connectmidmissouri.com/news/story.aspx?id=1066673#.U7niimK9KK0
  13. Someday. I hope.
  14. If they released 'em they'd just die of embarrassment as soon as they got back around their trout buddies anyway. Great pics Phil, had to be a fun time out with the kids!
  15. If you're ever down in this area ness (Joplin/Carthage), you'd be more than welcome to take my Cuda 12 for a test paddle.
  16. I've got 2 of them and haven't had any issues yet, I just really like the weight (lack of) and feel of them. One is a little over a year old and the other is new this year but it's been used quite a bit. However, I'll keep an eye on that joint now. Thanks.
  17. Thanks!
  18. For the pescador I use a 230cm paddle (I'm 5'11"), Bending Branches makes a "Whisper" model that's a great paddle for about 50 bucks.
  19. Dont know what kind of budget you've got for a yak, but the Perception Pescador 12 (Around 499.00 at Ozark Mountain Trading Co. and Academy) is a pretty darn good boat for the money. It's the same boat as the 2008 Wilderness Systems Tarpon (Perception and Wilderness Systems are both owned by the same parent company). I got one last year and really like it, but I had a moment of insanity this spring and got a Jackson Cuda, which is a fantastic boat but more than double the money of the Pescador. IMO, if you're looking for recreation mixed with a bit of fishing in the warmer months, a sit on top is the way to go.
  20. Took Ham's advice and sent him a Bass Pro gift card and a small box of flies I tied, he seemed pleased with that. Got the rod in the mail yesterday, still can't believe I got it back...
  21. Do many of you use this knot? If so, how has it worked for you? I think I'm going to try it out.
  22. Someone posted this link on another forum the other day, some good stuff on classic flies. http://traditionalflies.com/index.php?flies
  23. It was, and I apparently am. Today anyway.
  24. That would be a good one too Justin, but his family owns a cabin up by River of Life so that's where he stays. He said he knew you guys, his name's Tyler. Not to worry, youll have to put up with me and my coworkers again this year.... (and anybody else I meet that wants a recommendation on where to camp)
