  1. mass animal and fish kills are happening around the globe seems to be getting more common and more extreme to me http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/record-north-pacific-toxic-algae-bloom-alaska-california-fisheries/51723812
  2. large feathered treble will add resistance but not so big it kills the action
  3. wouldn't call myself a wakebait expert but sometimes a little tight wiggle works better than a big wide wobble and sometimes it doesn't silent can be better than noisy too
  4. probably a better idea to go to Stockton, lol 88 degrees and miles of dying vegetation along the shoreline makes it extra tough at Bull
  5. not jig heads, but I 've done spinnerbait heads with no problems using the same
  6. I'm a seasonal worker, I get laid off in the Fall then the fish better look out !!
  7. heard bass fishing was decent after dark with this full moon the guys are still catching a few catfish now and then on limb lines I wish I knew more but that's it I'm anxious to get out there and try some topwaters! 3 jobs currently,if I ever get a full day away from work to take the boat out I'll be posting reports again good luck Spooner73
  8. it was a cheap pflueger rod, paid $10 for it used
  9. 2 weeks ago they were really biting at Bull Shoals caught a couple hundred fishing off the bank cleaned 18, none had eggs in them
  10. I've been trying to paint some lately. 105 in the shop with fans running was about too much for me. the humidity was awful, paint wasn't spraying or drying properly it's hard to paint on the details with sweat dripping from your nose, lol glad that humidity has finally moved on,
  11. fly rod...well my fly rod was broken by a 20+ lb gar back in May haha fish was way too big for that rod, dont know what i was thinking trying to catch it, i put WAY too much stress on the blank it was fun for about 3 minutes though!
  12. anybody remember, or are using Navman fish finders? I have a Fish4600 they are mostly unheard of among fresh water anglers. the best electronics I've ever used. i bought it from a marine store in New Zealand, had it shipped to the US I've had it about 7 years now, and have yet to see another black/blue fish finder on someone's boat, and probably won't since they were discontinued when the technology was bought by another co. a few years ago, and then recently marketed to inshore freshwater anglers as something "new" my latest toy is a wireless sonar fish finder that runs off an app on my smartphone/tablet using wifi imo the days of connecting cables and other wires will soon be obsolete
  13. i was at a marina the other day and they had 30+ pair of sunglasses , not a 1 fit my big azz head, lol when my monster dogs are lost or broken i'll prob try champ's Zane glasses.
  14. Caught a gill the other day and it had the same kind of chunk missing . i've seen it several times on bass and panfish over the years
  15. somebody once told me "don't stare at those screens too much, or you might miss out on a great day of bass fishing because you weren't paying attention"
  16. this knowledge and intuition about bass fishing is something that is earned by fishing many bodies of water over an extended period of time, years, decades. Not just one body of water. You'll have to have one hell of a memory bank upstairs to be able to remember it all,lol
  17. WHATEVER YOU DO! do not grind half the lip off of a big fat free to make it a shallower diver
  18. knowledge and intuition, absolutely!
  19. yes, walleye seem to really like them trolling, have yet to land a bass on one if i'm crankin for bass now, it's usually a dt-16 or 20
  20. the catfish bite has been decent on limb lines
  21. so very true, excellent post
  22. two 4lber's flippin', love it!!
  23. 692.01 with this lake dropping it should really help the bass fishing situation it has in the past! the best topwater bite I've ever had on Bull was in late July/early August of 2013 during the draw down the lake wasn't this high then, but the lake dropping was the key to that bite
  24. 692.23 down from 692.63 nice..let's keep it going that direction
  25. the bigger one's are just being fat and lazy plenty of shade and fish fry to eat all a bass has to do to is roll over and open her mouth if she's hungry
