  1. I know a couple guys who chase "birds" all winter on BS. (Loons are always around feeding fish ) Good eye fishingaddiction !
  2. Good catch Rick!

  4. appreciate the info. as always, thanks buddy
  5. WT 49 653.72 9AM-4PM Theodosia Arm still, cloudy, patchy fog Armed with 3 spinning rods and one tackle box with swimming minnows and some homemade jigheads in it I was hoping to get a few crappie for supper, but these kentucky bass drove me nuts all day! Was lots of fun, but I never caught any crappie Sat. I fished brush, docks, and bluffs. Caught nothing but short and keeper spots everywhere I fished. I started my day fishing brush piles in 10-40' could only catch spotted bass ,but some were 2+lbs. Casting under docks caught the most short fish, but the cables running off the docks had some bigger bass on them. Picked up a few more by vertically jigging the bluffs around shad in 15-35'. over deeper water. Total of 41 fish, ALL spotted bass, the most spots I had ever caught in one day. 13 of those were keepers ,all of them caught on swimming minnows on 1/8 oz weedless heads. Best colors were smoke silver, firecracker, and blue thunder. All fish were put back. Went home and ate leftover stew, lol
  6. thanks for the report Brian, nice to have you back !
  7. man i love baked walleye !! would rather eat that than a Tbone thanks for posting this up
  8. my game plan was pretty much a gamble, it would either happen or it wouldn't while i was there. my only concern was if they had already munched before i got my chance. waiting for fish to move up and feed can be a strain on thee brain, glad i had slacker radio ty everyone for the replies
  9. agreed, as slow as i was presenting those lures it was painful for me,lol
  10. Zman shroom heads are not worth the money imo if your on a tight budget (me) and can't spend say $6 for 5 heads make your own snag proof ned head/crappie jigs with a jig hook, a pinch on sinker , glue ,and a piece of wire i can make 50 snag free, double guard, "shroom" style jigs for less than $20
  11. stuff like this really burns me...they better have had a darn good reason for killing it, public safety, i'm not buying that one, and then they pose for a picture like it's a big buck or something. mountain lions might become extinct at the rate people are killing them
  12. WT 49-50 653.55 very clear water skies were overcast early then partly sunny calm early then light and variable wind time - 7am - noon depth/location - 5 - 35' on a bluff between Pontiac and Theodosia presentation - slow, deadsticked baits - 3" susp. jerkbait, Ned, hair jigs. Started with the jerkbait and about ten minutes into it I was holding the first fish of the day, a 14" kentucky. The only jb fish of the day. Then I went w/o even a bite for the next hour or so. Going back and forth between the jb ,jig and Need. I was seeing several deep suspended arches on the screen below the boat as I worked the bluff. Bite finally turned on w/ the little worm. Fun for about 30 minutes. Got 4 more keepers and a few shorts, all kentuckys, then it got REALLY slow again. Sticking with the 3" jb Ned ,jig. for the next 2 1/2 hrs. got me 2 more bites there. One missed fish, then many many casts later a short 13" lmb bit the Ned. First largemouth of the day. I think it was around 11:30 now ,and I had been fishing the same bluff since 7am. The sun was peeking out now, and I noticed the deep suspended fish I had been seeing on my screen all morning ,, were now gone. Very next cast to the bluff a bigger lmb ate it. The last 15 minutes of my morning I caught 5 more long and chunky lmb .Come noon time the bite stopped just as quick as it started. I had to leave at noon, so it worked out pretty good. Everything was put back. http://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b512/wakywurms/decbass142_zps30fa3e61.jpg http://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b512/wakywurms/decbass14_zps96bc92c0.jpg

  20. very informative, thank you
  21. you know I just went to try out a modified rogue, just wanted to see what it did, and it did it !
  22. smear a little on the hooks first that's all you need be careful though, some scents will eat the paint off a lure !!
  23. not bad QB, sounds like maybe your bass were looking for a "slow riser" jb instead of a "dead stick" ? slow risers can make followers eat man if you're not using scents on your hard baits you should be...
