Havn't been down there this week, but last week didn't matter much on the Lindley side. black/chart, orange/chart, chart, white, glow...

Not sure how much things have changed in last 3 years, or what size system your pxing, but $15,000 is more than triple what we have in ours.

Listed on KC craigslist but it's located in Pittsburg, MO. Very clean boat that cranks and runs great. Taking to Whites Marine to confirm hours next week, but 160 +/- is close. https://kansascity.craigslist.org/boa/6218173298.html

That would be a big pump to run off an inverter and 2 batteries. I have a 1/4 hp (I think) submersible that runs to my power washer. I've power washed two boats and entire dock over a couple hour period and run batteries down bout 10% on a sunny day. They would be back to 100% pretty quick. http://www.stealth1charging.com/ This is the one I have. It's awesome. Least that's what the literature says.

We put in solar on our two well dock. 140w panel and I can't remember how many amp/hours storage in the two batteries, but the guy who sold it to us said we could use both lifts 20+ times on a sunny day and never get into the batteries. Not sure if that's true, but we've lifted boats a bunch of times in one day and batteries were full at end of day. Don't do anything heavy duty with it but it runs filet knife, lights, pump for power washer...with no issues. We've had it for three years and couldn't be happier. Company that put it in was Power Source Solar in Springfield. Not cheap, but peace of mind when you have 6 kids swimming around dock. There's a company that makes a boat charger that you can plug directly into a lead from the solar batteries and it will charge your boat batteries also. Can't remember name of company, but I have one of their chargers sitting in garage waiting until I get motivated enough to find someone to install. I'm not going to attempt as I'm electrically inept.

Well I've been catching the heck out of crappie. Hard to brag though when it takes 50 fish for 2 keepers. I know we had a tremendous hatch two years ago, but where did all the keeps go that I was catching last year? Maybe I'll take up bass fishing until they grow up, or maybe I need to get out of my zip code on the Lindley side.

Hey Quillback...you're nothin but a high finned carpsucker. Ozark angler hooks state-record quillback MDC congratulates Timothy Keene on breaking the pole-and-line state record by catching a 5-pound, 13-ounce quillback on Bull Shoals Lake. OZARK, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) reports that Timothy Keene of Ozark became the most recent record-breaking angler in Missouri when he hooked a quillback on Bull Shoals Lake in Taney County using a rod and reel. The new “pole and line” record quillback caught by Keene on June 26 weighed 5 pounds, 13 ounces. It broke the previous state-record of 2 pounds, 12 ounces. Keene and a fishing buddy were using red and purple-colored spoons trying to catch walleye when he hooked the state-record quillback. “The quillback put up a pretty good fight. I fought it for at least four minutes until I got it in the boat,” Keene said. Keene said once he got it in the boat he didn’t really know what type of fish it was, but his fishing buddy did. “I’m pretty new at fishing so I don’t know all the fish species, but my fishing buddy knew we had a really nice size quillback,” he said. “After some quick research, we were confident we had a new state-record fish.” Keene says he still can’t believe he has a Missouri state record, which was confirmed by MDC staff using a certified scale at Shepherd of the Hills Hatchery. “I can’t believe it! This is an event I would have never dreamed of,” he said. The quillback fish is a part of the sucker family. It is deeper-bodied than most suckers, leading to a carp-like appearance. It can be distinguished from carp by the lack of barbels around the mouth. Keene is unsure if he is going to mount the fish or not. Missouri state-record fish are recognized in two categories: pole-and-line and alternative methods. Alternative methods include: throwlines, trotlines, limb lines, bank lines, jug lines, spearfishing, snagging, snaring, gigging, grabbing, archery, and atlatl.

Step 1. How's she look? Not that we cull many...

Am amazed at the number of 5-7" crappie in the lake. Lost count yesterday, but estimate caught 40+ crappie, only 3 keepers. Jigs in 6 to 10' of water pretty much anywhere that looked fishy.

MOPan Will it go from 3500 to 50 or will you step it down gradually? I've been thinking that running 3500 for several weeks that a bunch of fish could have moved up the river. Was thinking of putting yak in below the dam on Sunday, if flow is reasonable. Just noticed that forecast to bring it down to 1500 Wed/Thurs...

Thanks wrench, I'll do the fuel line and bulb thing. If that doesn't fix it, I'll take it to shop. Stuff tends to get jacked up when I take a cowling off. -
Once I get it cranked it fires right up everytime and runs like a top. After it sits a week or two its a bear. Maybe bulb? I prime the bulb but it never gets super hard, just kinda mushy. Is there a manual choke on this thing? Haven't run the starter battery dead yet...but I've tried. Any help appreciated.

I realize this is an old thread, but wanted to add observation about river levels on May 29. Went exploring looking for a put in on the river, went to D and Burns. Gauge was running around 350 cfs, didn't actually get on the river, but water looked excellent for a nice float.

Thanks for the link, that's one I didn't have.

MOPAN Barring any major rain events, how long you think we'll keep releasing 3500? Is there anyplace to access real time outflow information? I have the 3 day lakes forecast, and the corp daily report, but was looking for something more in line with the usgs water data info. Would be neat if outflow was one of parameters available on the usgs report. Thanks

With the recent rains, grass growing plenty good at the lake shack. With all the lawn mowin, weed pullin, pork belly smoking, and beer drinking, only managed to fish about an hour each Saturday and Sunday. Big boat is a 30 yd swim/boat from the bank so went back to basics and sculled 10' jon boat around the cove. Two 1/8 oz underspins with chartreuse grubs lasted me thru the weekend. Caught 11 bass, 2 good ones, 3 crappie, one drum, and one channel cat. They're all still swimming, uncharacteristically even the crappie. Most in 3-5' of water. Caught the crappie fishing inside the flooded forest flipping to trees, caught bass between new and old bank. Surprising how much water has cleared over past week. Estimate 3' visibility, water has a tea tint to it, wondering if it's tanins from all the leaves at the bottom. Not sure at water temp, but at one time 6 kids were jumping off the dock, so estimate low 70's?

MOPanfisher Surprised the river still running as high as it is. Best guess as to crest? Any plans to start dumping water? Always appreciate your input.

Between river and creek they're dumping 40,000 into the lake this morning. Lake up almost 10' over last couple of days, currently 455. How high we going?

Maybe the b&r medium would do the trick for him.

Spoke to a couple guys putting in at state park, said there was a decent stick bait / wart bite. Rock snot fairly thick this spring on the Lindley side.

Lake coming up. Fished a couple of hours and caught 12 with 6 keepers. They're starting to come up, '7 to 10' down tight to wood. Red sparkle jig with matching nibble. Is it just me, but when I use a nibble it has to match the bait. As in black/chartreuse gets a chartreuse nibble, red or pink jig get a red nibble. Now you know reason I don't fish blue jigs. On an off topic note. KC star did fishing write up couple of Sundays ago and had Pomme #1 for MO crappie fishing. I don't have much point of reference, but when I think MO crappie, Pomme wouldn't be lake I'd first think of.

Troll. Straight up.

Thanks Al. Poly works. I don't know squat about synthetic canoe materials, that's why I stated "or similar". Looking to spend $3-400 max. There's some old town discovery in St Joe, AR for $295, but dont want to drive all the way down there. Likely they were rentals.

Looking for an inexpensive canoe, in decent condition, the kids can use to fish and paddle around in the cove... or as far as ambition will take them. Preferably near Pomme.
