For an old guy, he handled himself far better by just waving at the press and pretending not to hear. He had poise and never um, seemed deranged, except for when he listened to Nancy’s horoscopes. He would never stoop to Twittering to attack and counterattack over his own insecurities. And did Reagan have this turnover in his own cabinet ? Trickle down, was that his? Deregulation, not all bad. Maybe went too far. Environmental policy, not good. I give him points for being a leader and a uniter with charisma, and with class he was a real president. Didn’t agree with most of his policies, but trying to throw Mitch the lemming a bone. It’s not always about party.

I actually liked Reagan. George H, and grew to like George W even though they were somewhat feckless, at least they had class. I'm reading a great book on Bob Dole at the moment who I admire. George Will is another great conservative who I like.

Ok I’m the resident “libtard” de jour here and this is the goofiest idea I’ve ever heard of. I feel badly enough for our police officers, the rotten 1% making the rest of them look bad, who are out there literally putting their posterior on the line everyday. But this is irresponsible and dangerous. Goes WAY over the line. Let those communities who want to defund— try out that little experiment. I think this movement is really just a play to weaken some of these old guard police officers unions who are unwilling to accept any kind of modest change, such as body cameras. Not a bad thing.

Just read where the Louisville Metro PD has implemented this now too in response to Breonna Taylor incident. Seems like a step in the right direction. Sure like it better than thoughts and prayers and empty speeches.

That Candace chick is an attention troll wannabe. Where she gets it wrong is when she says people are trying to make George Floyd a "hero". I don't think thats the case at all. No one is out there promoting George Floyd's resume. What the F is she talking about? People are rightfully upset about Floyd because 3 police officers committed murder in in broad daylight and in a pretty gruesome manner -- 8 minutes with a knee on his neck while he was handcuffed, facedown, and begging for his life. Let me repeat that. Police officers committed murder. Thats upside down, isn't it? They are not judge, jury, and executioner. The Michael Brown deal was an entirely different situation. Brown had just committed an act of thuggery (shoving the shop owner as he stole from the store and walked out). Then he disobeyed and attacked the police officer, and by all accounts of the investigation, went for the officers gun. It was unfortunate all the way around. The police made terrible mistakes by letting his corpse lay in the street for hours on end and were not very forthcoming with information. That led to a lot of mistrust and understandable outrage which was naturally fanned by the media. Hindsight, I don't think anyone can look back and say Michael Brown was a hero, or officer Wilson was a hero, but the end result is pretty ugly stain . . . a culture of open racism was prevalent in that police station, and an 18 year old unarmed black man was killed. Hard stop. And then you have all these other more recent incidents. Ahmed Arbery, gunned down by racist vigilantes while going for a jog. The gal in Louisville. and a couple more. People are fed up. Nothing has been done. If I were a cop, I would want a body cam on me. Every time I go into a situation, that camera turns on and records. The technology is there. It doesn't cost a fortune. Why hasn't this been done?

Bingo! And if you remember, Mad Dog Mattis was a radical and concerning selection at the outset of this administration . Now we know that he is possibly one the “adults in the room”. Another clue as to how far off the ledge we are.
