  1. Headed down tuesday afternoon to check out the creek and hopefully it rains again so i can maybe wet a line without spookingthe whole creek
  2. Me too. I have been swamped at work and spend all my day off trying catch up enough at home to.keep me out of trouble . Probably head down monday if possible
  3. Remember if you are fishing in crane creek to be careful to not over-fight the fish. Also try to fish during the cooler parts of day to make it less stressful on them. Early morning and late evening are the best and fish are typically more active at these time as well. Another thing is watch where you step as stepping on a cottonmouth tends to ruin your day. The upper end dries up pretty bad and concentrates fish into big holes and makes them easily spooked so be stealthier than usual. The middle and lower ends get low but not nearly as bad. Where drab colors and stay out of the water if possible. The big ones spook quick and spook all the others. Have fun!

  5. I was down there this spring and they sounded the horn and no water came out at all for an hour after. . . Who knows why.
  6. Taking dad again to bennett. Got him a nine foot clearwater and hoping he can fool a trout or two. Tied us up some flies . Hope the crowd has thinned a bit
  7. Its in good shape as long as we don't get a massive rain in the next day or two. It clears up pretty quick so good luck. Higher water is better down there anyway.
  8. The lower section seems to have changed considerably since last year. Ill have to check it out again. Nice video mr walker. Keep wandering.
  9. Phil posted a video of bank fishing while two units were running using scuds and floats on fly rod. you just need to walk down past the outlets by the mdc boat launch and cruise along the bank. Look up phils video its very informational if youre after trout in higher flows.
  10. Dad caught what he thought was a great smalie. It was pulling and changing direction raising and dropping. Got it to the surface and it was a hub cap.
  11. Lived there growing up and would see rises from time to time. Especially below Bennett springs. Good work !
  12. Disagree on cottonmouths not being in springfed watersheds . They are at crane and all over the niangua around Bennett. The creek that runs in right there where they saw said snake is a warmer creek anyway so it s definitely a possibility. I've personally never seen cottonmouths at roaring though.
  13. I've seen this happen during earlier part of day then right before dark they turn on fire!
  14. Hit the little sac yesterday for about four hours . Caught ten whites. four were really Nice and the rest were small. Beautiful day and saw plenty of fish being caught. Threw clousers in white and tan. Others were throwing pain gear with rooster tail or small swim baits. Small was the key. Good luck
  15. II'll be down tomorrow morning! I think the cold front moving off and warm up today will turn them on fire tomorrow and over the next few days. High hopes I guess.
  16. Heading up there Monday morning hopefully you left some fish!
  17. Nice work Slab I'll be looking Monday in my spots hopefully they are there!
  18. I agree with hertz . Only other option is to wade down from 215 area staying off land.
  19. No shad did catch one silver rocket on white jig though. Most fish were nice. Gorged on scuds it looked like. All fought really well.
  20. No units at all from ten am to five pm then the horn sounded but no water. Caught twenty two fish today. Most on a peacocks nd cartridge/ harvester duo. A few on woolly bugger in olive and a few on red San Juan and scuds. Saw a lady catch a four pounder on a San Juan in red. Also she was catching a lot of fish on scuds in Brown and Gray. Another person was using a ruby midge and scuds duo and doing well. Fished across from outlet three and Down to where all the brush and rocks stick up. Great day lost count at twenty two or three.
  21. Super active. Caught ten or twelve in like fifteen minutes one night a couple weeks ago. Same thing last year as well. Right before dark is prime.
  22. Try right before dark on that pond just in front of boat launch
  23. Sweet. I'll be down around 8 or nine now so hopefully not three units.
  24. Fishing below dam in morning wondering what the waters like up there? Wading possible?
  25. K! Same here! Love that place. Hundred minnows every time! On the way to my great aunt's lake house. Shame they bypassed old highway five
