  1. Glad you got out with friend! I ran into um filming on crane a couple years ago. Nice guy
  2. I've been on the same mission! Great job! Its a rewarding feeling
  3. Fantastic stuff Brian!
  4. Im with you here Al. Crane has blessed me with a twenty incher and lots of fifteen plus fish which in my opinion is Like catching a five to seven pounder at a park. I still think overall trophy size is twenty plus inches.
  5. So in the last year I have found several spring creeks and rivers that are supporting trout. These places won't be found on a mo con list or in a book. They are hold overs from bygone era trout hatcheries and "failed" stockings of years long past. They surprise you at first then you begin to catch them fairly consistently. Small ones at first then by and by they start getting bigger and begin to peak interest. So you continue to pursue them through systematically breaking down the areas you firs find them. Then its a secret trout cache that only you know about. Then you begin adventuring further and further in search of the small pockets the reside in. I have found a considerable concentration of rainbow trout ranging sizes in some places I wouldnt have thought. So I dug into why and how they got there. Its interesting to hear people and their recollections of how they showed up. Some say old hatcheries others that they were stocked by conservation in the sixties or before. Missouri is a wondrous place filled with surprise after surprise. . .
  6. Bass pro catalog store always has some cheap!
  7. Just an observation but very similar in profile and action to billethead shuttlecock pattern. I tied a couple of these and I am anxious to try them out. Thanks Brian and wrench. Addicted to ffto!
  8. Pissing contests and methodology debates are why we joined forums to begin with. I personally enjoy the debates and suave gotten a lot of good things from the disagreements on here. No one person knows the best method or most moral outlook for all situations so we come here He’s going to talk to here seeking a sort of support for our ideas or an idea good enough to change our existing opinion. Smallies are in Bennett and the niangua and tons of outlets for fishing enjoyment. Not a secret its Missouri
  9. Man it was fun once you pros left. Lol you guys slated them up by the big bridge. I kept wandering off away from the fish. Good times
  10. So took buzz lead today and wet with the Caddis fly and zebra Midge dropper spaced about 12 inches apart thanks for the help Buzz.
  11. So ollie and Buzz I stayed until I got 22 fish most of them were a little brown trout. But I did catch a 3-pound rainbow trout as well
  12. Bringing my brother again ! Maybe he'll catch something this time !
  13. My dad told us when we were kids you had to keep the first one or else it would tell all its friends. .. He would let it go of course .
  14. They do love buggers down there !
  15. Have caught some decent small jaws in the park over the years. They get thick.
  16. I'm going to try some big stuff first light that day. Hope to catch a bighun. Haven't been done there any this year yet .
  17. Wonder ice a big brown would take a strReamer up by the darn? I'm gonna try first thing that morning

  20. Thanks guys. Time to switch to Capps for a bit now so I can whoop up on ollie and buzz! Olliefest eleven I believe.
  21. Super low water this time. Concentration camp fishing. Spook one and all are gone. Did get pretty far away from access and manage a handful about ten on the day . Tried terrestrials but weather didn't cooperate. Bugger was the trick today. Black was best. Then the frenchie took a couple. Saw a pair of otters at lower access... No fish there... Yikes! Moved to middle and found fish. Bows were colored up nicely with bright red gill plates and stripes.
  22. We didn't get any better until later in the day last year. Today's weather reminds me of that day Lol
  23. Heading down my favorite creek again to see if all these dying grasshoppers and cricket bugs are being gorged on by red sided devils. . . taking my brother hopefully.
  24. Can't seem to get into carp. . . I've seen cool videos and how tos and still doesn't seem as majestic as trout or small jaws. Shoot they are crazy on Europe though and have private carp lakes and regulations to boot. To each their own. May e if I caught one on purpose it would change my mind.lol its good to see people excited about fish no matter what kind. It means our waterways will stay a focal point of conservation and pride. Ugly fish or streamlined rainbows all are welcome in my life.
  25. Im going to try rattle eyes that I found hope it works the same. Thanks again for this. These just look amazing to me. And your track record of slaying fish seems strong.
