  4. middle one was a beast
  5. Here are some pictures from Friday
  6. All big fish were on buggeR. deeper water , Let it sink was prefered if n. Take on descent then a few sharp strips and theyd hit it.
  7. The success was probably due to the new water and cooler morning both. When the heat picked up friday afternoon the bite shut down. That little creek never fails to surprise me.
  8. all that can be said is wow! Great trip friday down my favorite creek. Took a longer walk and found a glorious stretch of unexpected water. Water that appeared void of life at first glance. Upon stopping and waiting for a breeze to pass i saw a riser... so flipped my sculpin colored bugger up next to a tree. Almost instantly im hooked up with a beast of a mcloud. Straight out of the water he came. Netted it measured fifteen inches. Another cast, to middle of the stream this time, and again wham! This time only twelve incher. Moved down to another tree with deep blue water only under the roots. Cast to left side fish, middle another fish, right you guessed it fish. No big ones this tree. Next tree about twenty yards away , cast to middle to fix my reel... as soon. As my fly hits water something big takes it... this one wont surface pulling line down stream. Finally a surface view and again wow! After what seemes like forever i net my new pb for the creek at ninteen inches. the rest oF Trip Filled with small fish and dry fly action in the usual spots. Best day ive had in along time.
  9. Great find on the smallie for sure!
  10. Show clinton what deplorable looks like .... honest happy people
  11. Only problem with indicator with a newer fly fisher jtram is that they still make wild casts and that float plopping will scatter the mcclouds. Plus that creek is really low right now Which makes it hard enough. not hating on floats just think going to crane you need a stealthy approach.
  12. It will translate roughly. Use less weight and lighter gear for rr. Power worms and trout magnets have good luck down there. If fly fishing bwo hopper or griffiths gnats always work as do cracklebacks.
  13. Ive never used one except one time at taney. I prefer contact with the fly probably due to the years of spin fishing before getting into fly fishing. Hopper dropper will work though if you need a float dkman.
  14. Skip the indicator. Those fiah are agressive and you wont miss any i promise. I never use one and remember big nymphs will catch big fish down there. Twelve or 14 prince or buggers. Mohair leeches. . . Etc. Ditch the float
  15. Got all my flies tied up for the trip in october. Doing some training for my buddy on casting and handling fish This week. Should be fun. hoping those browns are getting up stream come october.
  16. Shouldve gotten a weight on that yellow. What A biggun. . .
  17. Monster yellow perch!
  18. Or gaspergu if youre from texas lol
  19. Goggle eye for sure
  20. Luckily got away with small scuff. I mentioned calling police and the wife said no that he may go crazy Lol.
  21. Fin and feather. Even his friend seemed shocked and walked away. And it was a brownish red truck four door.
  22. Today i wnt to my favorite fly shop plateau. They were awesome as usual. Upon leaving a big truck pulled up next to my wifes cadillac cts. I got in the drivers side as she doesnt like driving in springfield, after closing my door i hear an ungodly thump. My wife opens her door an gets Out. The man in the truck had just doored her car really hard. I got out to make sure she was ok and the man began by saying" what"? I said you hit her caR with your door. He replied "its a parking lot." Then proceed to go back to nearly hitting it again to which i responded that he needed to be careful. He said his truck was new and he would never own that car. I simply stated that he should be more careful that others actually value there things and take care of them. He then said you should park better. He was on the line we were within ours. I just said please be more careful and we left. My wife was scared of the guy and how rude and unappolagetic he was. The guys is lucky he didt encounter someone less level headed. Very rude. His license read ... g'etr l8tr.. red ext cab ford with tons of door dings and scratches so watch that you dont park near that guy.
