    I ended up catching several with one nice one in the mix. I usually have real good luck down below the trestle. There was a lot of pressure on the creek for a Monday. I saw two other guys come and go. Saw some real beasts swipe at my flies but I missed a lot of fish on early sets. Great day though and the big one made it worth it. Didn't see any redds up above.

    It crazy how we hold on to lures for a super long time catching seemingly endless amounts of fish and the one day the strangest series of events set in motion to rob us of our prized tackle. Then you purchase or make another and it doesn't seem to work quite as well as the original tattered discolored version. Great story telling Mr babler. Always enjoy your reads.

    I have tulips starting to come up and my dianthus is turning green already. Saw a huge frog on crane creek Tuesday . Hope the cold snap this week doesn't set us back too far

    I use an 8 1/5 foot rod it is better to have a long rod! I'll be in the gold ranger Good luck!

    Didn't see any redds on the upper but saw a few down from the trestle bridge last time I went! Its a great fishery and very pretty. I go quite a bit. It was a great day down there considering the wind. The big one I sight casted a Prince nymph to and he hit it on second cast. Usually they bolt by I've been working on stealth.

    Biggest one went about 15 inches but was the skinniest trout I have ever seen.

    Had a great 4-5 hours today on the upper wire road access. Managed three nice ones and countless dinks all parred up and pretty.

    I was thinking the same thing. Couldn't hurt to try since it will be so nice. Id say the water has dropped plenty and started to clear up. I think its going to be a good white bas year up there. All the way to taylor should be cleaned out and have enough water for a good run of whites and if the walleye are going to move itll be soon.

    Where are you from lance b? this may help with good white bass access in your area. I am assuming twin bridges is in the Stockton area?

      Yeah, I posted in beaver forums because twin bridges area is a tribuatary to beaver lake. Thanks anyway

    Had days on little sac and James that were about the same! One day slamming them the next no fish! Hope this year is a good run since the water level is higher it should be really good!

    I'll be up the little sac come March hunting them and whatever whites have moved up. If weather cooperates. Sac has proven itself a good river for me. Had hundreds of whites and lost a few big walleye. Seen people walk out with some nice ones too. This is my year for the fun. Also up by caplinger Mills I hear is great.

    Stockton and it's tributaries are decent as well.

    The owner of happy hook was in my store Wednesday and said the walleye have started moving up by the dam at Stockton. Also moving into river mouths. Unless we get major cold weather we may have a decent year.

    Just bought more dumbbell eyes yesterday ! Didn't have great luck on fly last year so I'm going fly rod only this year. Force those fish to take it and like it. Hopefully I luck into a wally as well. Then wander up the river and find some morel (in a perfect world) .

    Its almost temperate bass and walleye time again! Anyone going fly fishing? Share your tips and tricks!

    Weight is going to be important. Size depends on what you are fishing for. Trout will hit a tiny fly if it's in their feeding lane even in muddy or murky water. But they tend to stick to the bottom.

    Anyone been down since the flood? I wonder if all the redds got washed out and how it will affect the stream this year?

    This makes me laugh. People always think fly fisherman cheat. They are just presenting something more naturally . If one was baiting they are cheating and you should call them on it then take their rod snap it and throw them in the river. . . Or maybe they aren't baiting and you could learn something.
