Awesome picture Ron.I can't wait till my little man is big enough to go with me!
  2. I've used lots of different spinning reels and some of the best for the money has been the pfleuger president and lews speed spin. I have a stradic FJ and haven't had any troubles with it what so ever. I actually really like my stradic. I've also used the diawa Lexa A LOT and love the 2000 size. Lately I've been trying some quantums and picked up a smoke PT and an energy and so far I much prefer the cheaper energy.

My personal best of the year. Unsure if it's my best overall. I was wading that day and didn't forgot to pack anything to measure him! If he's not my biggest is pretty close.
  4. I have for sale a like new wilderness system ride 115 high seat. The sale includes a bending branches 240cm angler and a large NRS PFD. I just bought this over the winter from Appomattox river co but unfortunately I have to let it go. Everything on this kayak is in great shape and it's been stored out of the elements. It will have to be local pickup since I no longer have the means to transport it.. Asking price is $700. Thanks for looking!
  5. I have a GoPro hero 3 silver with a 16gb SD card, water proof housing and the LCD rear attachment. I've never even taken it out just opened it up and took a few pictures around the house. Where are you located?

Sounds like a great trip! I enjoyed the pictures man..thanks for the report!
  7. Any 4 inch single tail grub in green pumpkin on an 1/8oz head never fails to catch fish. Hula grubs work great for me as well. I normally will use a chompers 4 inch in dark melon pepper or green pumpkin and i usually rig them 1/8 up to 1/4 if there's heavy current. I just recently started wacky rigging and have found it works well for numbers as does the much talked about NED. My biggest smallies always seem to come from a 3.5 inch tube jig in some sort of green pumpkin or brownish color or the hula grubs mentioned above. I also just picked up some walk the dog style baits after speaking with AL and i have to say those things are a blast to catch fish. I haven't got a big one on them yet but i know its capable as is all the baits mentioned in this thread given they are used at the right place and the right time with a smidge of skill and good luck.
  8. I totally understand that feeling when you see all the drunk and disorderly individuals out there. I know there's decent people mixed in but it's tough to fish and take in the scenery when that kinda stuff is going down. Funny you mention doc because I'm pretty sure that's my little boys first crush lol he drops whatever he is doing and focuses on that show intensely. Even seeing her toys makes him go crazy lol
  9. Sounds like a great time smalliebigs! That top water bait looks sweet! I hope to take my little boy out and have a good time like that but he's just turned 7 months so we have a bit!
  10. I PM'd you kayak runner.
  11. I'm in Washington county. Those prices don't include shipping.
  12. I have for sale a like new Phenix Recon 2 model# PHX-S723. It's a great rod I just have never had time to fish it and has only been cast around the yard a few times. These retail new around $170 and I'm asking $85. I also have a St.Croix Premier spinning rod model number PS70MF paired with a Diawa Lexa 2500SH. The rod has very minor wear in the cork with no problems at all with the blank or eyes. The reel has minor scuffs but functions great. This setup was used for a season but since I upgraded it doesn't see use anymore. I'm asking $100 for the combo.
  13. That thing is freakin sweet man! Congrats!
  14. Great report! Those are some purdy rainbows. I'm hoping to make my way down there in the near future (weather permitting of course).
  15. More signage is a great idea and one that I don't think would cost a great deal of money. Anything that will educate other anglers on the laws and creel limits is great not to mention that it may give the impression that things are being enforced more frequently in the area and dissuade them from keeping what they shouldn't.
  16. Good pics and report and an awesome job saving that smallie. I dig seeing the old school zebco's in that picture. Fishing doesn't have to be expensive or complicated i appreciate the little things like that.
  17. Enjoy! those kayaks are freakin sweet!
  18. That's a tough situation man. I keep the operation game thief number in my cell which is with me every time i go out. I've had to educate close family about the seasons and creel limits....if they don't comply they absolutely do not fish with me nor will i ever tell them where i fish. I feel passionate enough about it that i've had that talk with my father and for the longest time i refused to fish with him. I still wont unless it's some local pond where it doesn't hurt to put a small dent in the panfish population. Wonder who these neighbors are? I maybe familiar with them..you'll have to pm smalliebigs.
  19. Mineral fork is easily wadeable. I've waded huzzah a few times and didn't have to much trouble so long as the gauges look ok.
  20. passionate make out session in 5 seconds....lol Being serious now...that's a pretty cool setup chief.
  21. I wish i could attend these! Work says otherwise. Looking forward to seeing the notes.
  22. Welcome to the forums fishingdad11.
  23. Joe recently took the flux capacitor off the back for maintenance.
  24. That title of "dickweed" is really showing! That was hilarious Ness. lol
