  1. Morgan it actually is pretty easy. I have to admit I too found it difficult at first and will admit I am not at all savvy with computers. But give it a chance and you will truly find a great group of guys with interesting information and usually very helpful. I hope you reconsider exploring because another fisherman with more information or just stories are always fun to read and help pass time thank you for looking.
  2. Thanks for the entertainment Jeremy. Good stuff fun Watch.
  3. Welcome Ed. Thanks for the info and I am looking forward to what you have to offer. I hope all goes well with your surgery and I wish you luck. Thanks again.
  4. I guess if we can learn anything from your misfortunes Mike, it would be its very difficult for many of us to let our baits, "just soak sometimes." Things like back lashes, phones ring, tying something else on, etc have often gotten me side tracked and then all of the sudden when im back to fishing, I learn I had one on. It's just so difficult for me to stand there idle some times. I just have to know they are there.
  5. Also with the ownership of the scale you inherit the penalties. Don't touch the fish against your body, don't let it touch the floor, release it appropriately those are two minute rules. Always wear your pfd when the big motor is running otherwise "mike, that will be a 5 minute penalty" Good luck.
  6. I agree worst fishing show just can't stand all the advertising. Best part of the show is "some" of the tech tips or ideas. Other than that, it's just simply not worth watching! IMO.
  7. Oh gotcha. Yes paint is one item that most people don't even think about how expensive ot can be
  8. Mr. Babler those must be some great big bedrooms or someone saw ya coming. Lol. That is crazy. I laid hardwood in my main living area, hallways, foyer and kitchen, tiled 3 bathrooms and laundry room, and carpeted 4 bedrooms and spent less than that. That being said I did do all my own tile and hardwood but someone else put the carpet in for me. Perhaps I guess things could be more expensive in your area.
  9. If you haven't gotten to watch the entire video it's already on the site. It's awesome!
  10. Cbass, another resort is four seasons located in little aunts creek. It's owned by Ruth and Ed. Extremely nice folks. Quaint little cabins or a couple different houses that sleep more. You should check it out. My family and I stayed there for about 10 years
  11. Day 1 Grand Glaize Day 2 Gravois Arm Day 3 Grand Glaize Day 4 they haven't fished yet. Thats nrxt saturday. But I guess if it holds true to the above pattern one can expect to see them in the Gravois Arm.
  12. So here are all the lures he found in two days. Pretty cool. He's far more disciplined than I am. I can't take that much time away from fishing.
  13. Vernon I certainly appreciate a great looking boat and hope one day to have one. I do pay attention not to intentionally scratch my boat or cause bumps and bruises. Usually this doesn't happen to me on the rock but I often find my self rubbing up against a dock or cables at lake of the ozarks. I try to wipe my boat down and wax it quite frequently. I certainly did not mean to offend anyone. Sorry if I did.
  14. Wrench I'm the same way. Though I try not to get my boat all scratched up but some times I just gotta go for it.
  15. Lol. I guess I should have said. My buddy is down there right now. He called me yesterday to tell me he was heading down but I wasn't able to go due to some chores. So these are all his. I think I can speak on his behalf as we neither one ever sell our lures. (Hoarder problem) We go to a few lakes and do this and have decent luck. He always seems to do better than me. Last time he went he found over 50 lures and 7 of them were original warts with other vintage ones.
  16. With the waters low it's a good time to walk the banks to look for lures. Who can identify all of the lures in this pic? (Not me) I'm just wondering what some of them are. Particularly the older ones. The rest of them i know. But any help would be great thanks.
  17. Good job KDC. Family and I may head down today. Looking forward to it. Thanks for the report and hope every one has a Merry christmas
  18. I'm not sure if we tend to over think or ober spend trying to stay warm. I will say the best way I have ever learned to stay warm is to dress in layers. I am a firm believer dressing in layers is the way to go. This is what I do and I seldom get to cold. Pull over winter hat, neck warmer, Tee shirt, short and long sleeve shirt, sweat shirt, fleece, hoodie and some sort of wind breaker up top. For the bottom,I wear, long johns blue jeans and again some sort of wind breaker and a pair of jogging pants if needed. For my wind breakers I purchased about 5 year ago a red head windproof/waterproof jacket and pants on sale for $28.00 each from bass pro. They are awesome. I sit in my tree stand all day in them as well. I don't wear gloves much when I'm fishing other than while driving my boat. I also keep a "buddy heater" in my boat. To warm my hands back up when needed. Although I forgot it the other day and my hands did get cold but I was able to fight through it. As far as socks I wear a pair of winter socks and a pair of lace up boots. All of this and I still feel like I have plenty mobility.
  19. I was down today and fished a few hours. Not much of a report. Caught 5 all on the wart. Anywhere from 2 to 8 fow. I did see one bass laying on the bottom in about 14 fow dead. This was in Beardsley. Hard to say what happened.
  20. Terrin thank you for the video great job and I love the message.
  21. Way to stick with it Hammer. It's always nice when you figure a little something out to save the day.
  22. I was able to get down on Monday and Tuesday. Fished a few hours each day but I wasn't able to get out too early. I mainly Drop shotted and spooned. I Had several keepers largest being about 3.5 to 4lbs. Primarily fished main lake points and creek arms. Docks came into play also. The docks didn't seem to have many out in front of them. We mostly found them in the slips 30 to 40 fow and on the bottom. Good luck to all and be careful out there.
  23. I reiterate the vinegar water solution. Cheap and effective.
  24. I decided to drive down for the day to get my fix. Unfortunately there is no medicine for the kind of withdrawls I've been having with not getting to fish since 4th of July. Fishing was pretty rough for me today. But did end up catching a few keepers with a nice 6lb lm. My arsenal consisted of square bill cranks, spoon, jig and drop shot. If I was able to graph them up I could usually catch a few out of the herd. Primarily fished larger Creek arms and docks back in those same creeks with a spoon. I did fish the bank with a light weight jig or the square bill and caught a few, but of course the better bite for me was deeper. Any where from the 28 fow to 80 feet of water with the fish mostly concentrated around 35 fow of water. Flipping the spoon in the boat stalls or just on the outside of them or the fronts of the docks. Seldom did I let the spoon hit the bottom in the stalls. I used pretty aggressive Jerks in the stalls but they seemed to like the short popping technique when they were suspended out in the open water when I was vertically fishing for them. Probably all old news for everyone but thought i would share my stories. Good luck to all
  25. As many know I am a 13 year veteran in law enforcement and as crazy as it may sound, and despite the "desparities" these days, I still love my job and believe that my efforts do help some of the people I encounter. Thank you Champ for the start of the thread and thank you all for your support.
