  1. This ^^^^ I have never met him but I know guys that have and they say the same thing. And in all his blogs I've never seen him refer to it by his name.
  2. I believe every word, his reports are great and I love reading them. We dont usually fish much past 8 anyway so shouldn't be a problem. I actually did fairly well fishing a football jig and shakyhead off the dock last time we were there. I'm sure I'll drag the rig around the dock a few times.
  3. We stay at Mill Creek Resort and two years ago we had trouble in the cove with guests that were staying at the resort. There were two separate days where they rented a ski boat and a wave runner for 3 hours both days. They were running on plane in between the buoy and dock with the boat continuously, all while my family and I were floating in front of the dock. And with the waverunner......... taking off from the edge of the dock at full throttle was unfortunately not the worst thing they did. With my family all sitting on the dock, one of them decided it was a good idea to drive full speed right toward the dock, and do a 180 right off the corner of the dock, splashing everyone. Forget that it really annoyed us, this guy could have seriously injured/killed someone on the dock if something had gone wrong. OK rant over.
  4. You're not making me feel too good about our vacation that starts next saturday. Guess it will be early mornings and double fisting it on the dock (beer and ned) the rest of the day.
  5. The original owners are close relatives of my dad's best friend, whose family is extremely close with ours. So needless to say I've been eating there since I was a little kid and I really haven't found a place that I like better. We'll be staying at Mill Creek Resort starting next saturday, I'll have to bring that up if I stop into the Fillin Station.
  6. My favorite!!
  7. I love those old evinrudes. My dad's first boat that we had until I was 14 was an '83 astroglass with a 115 evinrude and it was the best motor we could have asked for. I also love those old bass boats, something about the style of them just appeals to me. Nice boat. Congrats!!!
  8. Same here, but I might get a couple more packs to be safe. I'm not sure I'll be able to wait until Sunday though. Probably drag the wife and son out for a short trip on Saturday once we get everything situated in the cabin.

    Ned?

I agree. The front of the bushes would be a great place to start with it. You may get hung up occasionally going up into the bushes but it's worth it.
  10. I almost never grab a white anymore if I'm using a bait with trebles. I'll just hang it over the edge of the boat and shake it off the hook with a pair of pliers. They scare the crap out of me when they have a mouth full of red eye shad.
  11. No problem, love that clip anyway.
  12. We leave the same day for our week at Mill Creek Resort. Not as much fishing for me since I'll be with the family but I'll get out enough. Here's to praying it stays this way for a few weeks.
  13. New to the forum from Gardner, KS. I mainly fish for LM and SM around the KC area (stick to the KS side), but I've spent a lot of time on the North Fork of the White and the Niangua over the years. They're some of my favorite places to visit. Fishing for smallies on the ozark rivers is undoubtedly one of my favorite things to do, just a shame that I'm not able to do it as much as I like. We go to Table Rock for vacations and we actually have one planned in 3 weeks, so hopefully I can sneak away from the resort (mill creek) enough to catch a few spots.
