  1. I go to Taney sometimes but my home water is the beaver tailwater. Taney is too crowded......even at night.
  2. I’ve posted in the past.....years ago. I still fish with a few really awesome guys I met on here. I still fish for trout at night almost every week. I’ve developed some new techniques while learning the bite under different conditions. I’ll post some pics. I’ll answer some questions.
  3. I haven’t posted in a long time, and truth be told, 3 of my best friends reached out to me on this forum to fish in the dark. Sunday night chefofthesea and I braved the cold, dark conditions. Weather man said 38 for a low, I can handle that. When I noticed the ice forming on my rod I realized I’d been had again. So we slung buggers with the eyelets freezing up. Brought some rainbows to hand and after proclaiming that I was done at nearly 1 am I made one more half posterior cast back out......BAM!
  4. ^^^that all sounds fine to me.
  5. We went to lake fort smith during the last full moon, before the rain. I am familiar with that white bass run and was able to locate large numbers. On a fly rod. Also has anyone else caught a walleye from lake ft smith?
  6. Well I swear I saw it but now I don't. Maybe I'm loosing it from lack of fishing.
  7. What are ya gonna throw at them?? A buzz bait?
  8. I tried them a little last year below beaver at night. They were obviously in full spawn mode and wouldn't bite. Sounds like an early run technique.
  9. I'm starting to see zeros under the bull shoals column. Has anyone wade fished since? Also they have been doing the min. flow for a couple years now and of that time there hasn't been that much min. flow. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience night fishing with the min. flow conditions. State park area, or cotter.
  10. We fished it Friday night. Parked at the conservation lot. Found a few fish.
  11. Sounds like a fly rod would be more effective. Seeing how you are fishing flies.
  12. well I'm all sorts of pumped up now. Thanks everyone.
  13. Here's the link with the info on the meeting. http://www.swl.usace.army.mil/Missions/Planning/BeaverLakeMasterPlan.aspx
  14. My father is an authentic hillbilly from Winslow Arkansas. He goes to Walmart bare footed and the employees don't mess with him. I do my best to escape from that lifestyle but it sneaks out every so often. em=them in hillbilly.
  15. They are drawing down the lake for the next two weeks.
  16. Nice. I will definitely be giving it a whirl. Do you go with a slower retrieve at night?
  17. I do the majority of my fishing at night due to having a job and children. With the white bass coming up I'm trying to figure out how to optimize my opportunities. I have an area I fish that gets a high concentration of em and has clear water most of the time. I'm wanting to try throwing clousers to them after dark this year. I am gonna tie some with glo thread. Does anyone have experience/advice on this? Has anyone else even tried it?
  18. So they draw beaver way down, then there are no spring rains. By August you all are criticizing them because we are looking at water restrictions. Have some faith. The flooding would be twice as bad without the dams.
  19. The only one you need is a micro jig(1/100) with a white tail, chartreuse body, and a red collar. Fished under an indicator.
  20. With a tandem rig?
  21. Maybe get comfortable with tandem rigs. Jtram never leaves the house without one.
  22. I would spend the next 2 months doing research and practice casting and such. There is tons of info available online and I would be reading myself to sleep every night. Also start filling up that fly box and a couple others. I am nowhere near Stockton but will answer questions via message if needed. Not much point in pursuing perch/white bass in January.
  23. Jtram is like me.....addicted to the indicator.
  24. You are spoiled boy????
