  1. My fat cat.
  2. I'm 100% catch and release. Carp are not exactly eye candy.
  3. Honestly I don't get into the "carp on the fly" craze. Landing one is a real chore. Then if you do manage to land it, all you have is a carp. I don't think I will ever really target them.
  4. Running water at night too, right?
  5. Maybe plan on someone from the resort meeting you with a motor boat where the two meet? Just a thought.
  6. I've heard the midge bite in the daylight has been producing decently. 6x fluorocarbon, 3' under an indicator.
  7. I fished from 10-3. Caught 12-15 with a 20" brown and an18" bow in the mix. Caught fish on black and yellow buggers, also caught one on jtram's beautiful deer hair slider. The quality fish are stacked up in the upper special regs area.
  8. Gotta keep them lamps to a minimum. Fishing areas you know and having nerves of steel. I just throw small streamers and usually have plenty of action.
  9. Haha, the water is almost always off at night!!!
  10. It's not a problem, glad you got into them. I've taken a few guys fishing from this forum and it blows me away to see the high character fellows that show up. I have met some good friends in the fog below beaver dam.
  11. I'd blame the tippet rings.
  12. Goes to show what I know.
  13. I've been keeping an eye on table rock and it doesn't seem to be rising. I don't think it brought the creeks up much if at all.
  14. I hope you weren't fishing alone.
  15. Scuds will catch em, the midge is the king though. Sz 18-22(and smaller) I honestly think they have been running a bit of water but who knows by next week.
  16. First of all the tailwater is wadable again, might not be able to fish your fav spot but there are plenty of options and even some current here and there. The upper trophey area is holding alot of fish and has some movement. Also the area above parkers had some good flow. Jtram and myself fished friday night and saw a lot of action, throwing buggers in a varity of colors with pink, yellow and black leading the charge. Had plenty of rainbows landed and a pair of browns in the 17-18" class and fat as pigs. I went back on saturday night like a madman, fished from10-3, another 12-15 rainbows landed and countless missed strikes. Also locked into a midnight monster in the upper trophey area. Like I said we had a pair of browns the night before that I figured were 2 1/2-3lbs each, this fish saturday night was on another level. I battled for 3 or 4 minutes without gaining any ground. Then she headed upstream do head shakes, didnt take long for her to pull free. Heartbreaker, truth is I didnt have my phone anyhow so even if I landed it, there wouldn't have been any pics. I feel like it was in the 6-8lb range. I cant believe beaver does'nt get more attention at night. The bites have been very consistant and there is a chance for a trophey every night. Besides, I get creeped out being the only fisherman on the water. Jtram has a pic from friday I hope he shares, had a blast out there man.
  17. so maybe the big girls are at the bottom of bull shoals somewhere.
  18. It's because the river bed enters a huge gravel bed no telling how deep and the river simply flows under ground. Has to do with the two rivers meeting, combine gravel bed. I bet there are fish down there, I've seen the upper buffalo do this only to emerge into a clear, cool, deep pool. An oasis.
  19. High, but manageable. I did best in the areas I know to be shallow at normal levels. Some of the spots I think could be waded to. I have really embraced the night fishing for trout. If you want a partner, send me a pm.
  20. i fished from midnight til around 4 am. Had to wait out some nearby lightning but the bite was good. I landed 12-15 bows up to 16". The crazy part is I counted over twenty missed strikes. All fish landed on a black bugger. I did well near the dam and at the upper end of the trophy area.
  21. He lost me when I saw the minnow bucket.
  22. A French pheasant tail. It's the back half of a regular pt but no thorax. Red thread for a collar.
  23. We fished from 9-5. Banker's hours. Caught 20-30 fish each. Nothing big. They were doing work on the creek causing some muddy water but it cleared pretty fast. Fished a hopper/dropper with a frenchie as the dropper. Fished that set up all day.
  24. Had an hour or two during the twins nap so I went to elmdale intending to catch some perch on the fly. I did that and managed this grass carp on a San Juan worm.
