What I don't understand is why they are so adimint about the fish being under sized but if they are using a throw net wouldn't the whole operation be illegal? It's like if they netted a legal limit, they're ok?

Thanks guys, I'm not talking about a float tube, it's a fishcat pontoon, no feet in the water. I totally understand the concern.

Well I'm ready to catch some trout and I've decided Taney is the place to do it. I'm sure table rock will be running for the next 4 months probably but my understanding is that it's still fishable. I've never fished here but am an experienced fly fisherman. Ok so here are my options, I like the idea of fishing the outlets at night, would be on a week night to attempt to avoid the crowds. Is that a good option with the current flows? My alternative would be fishing from my inflatable pontoon. I figure I could launch near the dam and was wondering if there was a shuttle service down the lake somewhere. I understand the danger of being on the water in a small craft and I understand the safety precautions I need to take. I figure I could find enough current breaks to stay out of everyone's way. Opinions about that?

I will work for weeks to get the chance to fish. I try to be with my girls as much as I can so in the last 2 years I've started night fishing a lot. I bet I'm getting pretty good.

I tend to be a little bitter, a little pessimistic, sometimes even kinda mean. This is one of those cases where the outside world doesn't see the internal struggles. I have 3 1/2 year old identical twins that are both non verbal level 4 autistic. We have no way of communicating with them and we are constantly having to guess at what they need. They start whining/crying, we try to figure out what they are after, if we are wrong they often get frustrated and will either hit us, hit them selves, or(my least favorite) will literally bang their head on the ground. My life consists of therapies, children's hospital, and a never ending battle at home trying to keep the house clean and trying to get them to eat(they are so picky and so stubborn). I though by 3 1/2 I would have a couple fishing partners but instead I am unable to even get them to respond to their names. I don't know if we will ever talk, I don't think we will be anywhere close to being ready for kindergarten. I just needed a chance to explain my situation and maybe make an excuse for some of my seemingly irrational posts. I'm trying. If anyone else has experience with autism I would love some feedback, maybe a success story or two.

Well I assumed it was a walleye. Wouldn't it be a huge saugeye? No one else out there.

Once I saw the generation predictions, turning them off over night, I committed to hitting up jfk park once it dropped out. I forgot my wafers but had my yak so I put in at the ramp, paddled up to the first inlet and drifted back to the ramp. I had only been to the little red once before and I figured the middle of the night was a bad time to explore. Caught some stocker bows, caught an 18" eye, lost a very nice brown right at the boat. Fished from 1:30am-4:45am. Caught fish on a rabbit strip leach, black, yellow, and orange buggers. Missed a nice topwater strike on a wiggle minnow.

Jeez guys, I'm about to go night fishing on the little red.

If you are out of state and do not hold a Missouri license you will need a daily license as well. I'm from Arkansas, costs me $10 a day.

When the water is up I've done well with a y2k under a large hopper. The pool under the bridge with the little dam.

Kayak. I had fished this pond before but only from the bank and the tall "berma" hay and aquatic vegetation made it impossible. The kayak made all the difference.

Yea I'm always looking for a good un. I'm lucky to have access to a couple in alma that are dy-na-mite as well.

Got to hit an awesome farm pond at my in laws near Sabetha Kansas. Fished for about 5 hrs on Saturday and landed 40-50 bass up to #5 or so.

I'm going down Wednesday. I guess I will just keep an eye on it.

I'm spending some time at the children's hospital in little rock next week and I'm considering hitting up the little red if the flows are favorable. Anyone have any info?
