Those fish are up and down that river not just in the St Clair area. Those brownies move more than you think they do but not this time of the year. Pick a stretch of that river from Times Beach up and learn it and fish it. You will be very surprised at what You will catch. Great Resource and Please Catch & Release on those brown fish.

You can see the sores from those A Rig bass that come in with 2 or 3 6/0 hooks stuck in there back or sides. Makes me sick !

You can have some great days up there this time of the year. It will get better ! You are right you always have that catfish dinner at Flat Creek Resort. Great place to spend a couple of days !!

It will get better. A lot better ! Usually peaks about deer season up the James. A lot less boats out there and the color in the trees should be nice this year. Nice report. Keep them coming. Wish I could give you a report but have not fished up there this year. Parents lived up across from point 15 for 28 years but both have passed and house gone. Sure do miss that part of the lake .

Nice Day on the water. Fished 7/31 10 pm till sunrise. Great night on the water. Caught 3 keeps on 10" power worms fishing from the Bridgeport bridge to the flat creek bridge. Not many bites but 2 of the 3 were real nice fish. One was 24.5 inches and would estimate at 7.5 lbs and the other was a 23 incher. Roll off gravel points in 10 - 12 ft of water. Love that part of the lake this time of year at night. Good Fishing !!!

Jerry, You are 100% correct on this. LOZ has always been a shallow water lake. You can catch a nice bag any time of the year in the shallows on this lake. You might have to try a different part of the lake but there is a Big Bag to be had somewhere. Lake has been unreal for years. Good Fishing !!!
