  1. Another good report. I really like that last picture. I have soft spot for big spots.
  2. You made her stay home and Wash Windows!!!??.....
  3. Everyone should have access to affordable bassboat assistance. You could call it "JamesCare"
  4. Good stuff thanks for sharing. Were you fishing perpendicular and dragging it off the ledge?
  5. That's a great looking jig Mitch
  6. Wow!
  7. Good stuff. Thanks for sharing.
  8. Went last weekend. Entertaining didn't allow for much fishing, but got out for a few hours Saturday am. Threw a spook and buzzbait early with one short hit. Switched to my go-to 5/8oz jig and caught 2 short small mouths in 20' near a main lake dock. Started graphing suspended bait/fish off the end of the dock in 38'-40' while trolling around it and picked up a 15" spot. Noticed my line was frayed so set the jig down and tried drop shotting the suspended fish without a bite. Re-tied the jig and caught another 15" spot. Got a text that guests were awake and headed in. Caught a few more each day and night with a drop shot and jig while hanging out on the dock with the guests. Two take aways from Saturday am....1) All 4 fish were caught quickly after the earthquake, which I didn't feel or know about until later...2) catching fish under the bait reinforces what Bo noted in last report regarding shad, crawfish and the jig...which I didn't know or think about at the time...so thanks for sharing Bo. Water temp was around 82 with a green stain that got dirtier each day.
  9. Thanks Bo. What's the trick with the line tie to the eyelet on the grass jig?...or am I seeing things?
  10. Looking forward to the roll out. You must be the buddy that's been providing him with the hand poured soft plastics he's been referencing this summer.
  11. Good job 176. Thanks for the update. Glad you got out. You'll be out again in no time. You caught two more than I did at the office the other day...
  12. Great stuff Bo. Thanks for sharing. That's some heavy hardware but the success is well documented. Proves that if you change your mindset there are quality fish to be caught outside of the normal TR way of thinking. Would love to see some instructional videos from you someday.
  13. Thanks for sharing Phil. Ran into him and Ned together at the boat show last winter. I leaned in to say a quick hello and thank you with the intent to slip away without bothering them. He wouldn't have it and went out of his way to include me in the conversation. Really nice guy.
  14. Yes. Thanks to LD and many others. With almost 2k views, I'm confident this will make a difference to someone that may not otherwise have made it home from a day on the lake doing what we all enjoy.
  15. Great looking boat Vernon! Although I'd rather you wrap it with a giant Jayhawk before claiming it's cowboy colors. And that's coming from a Wildcat...
  16. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing.
  17. Pearl, smoke, green pumpkin on the soft plastics. PBJ or brown/orange on the jig.
  18. To answer your question, passionate and fortunate. You had enough sense to leave at a decent time, so not crazy. Glad to hear guys from the board are connecting in person.
  19. ...or the two of you could record some stuff from the boat. Love your trout videos on Taney.
  20. 1/2 oz
  21. Pure gold right there. Easier read than done though for me. I've got to learn to force myself to pull the cord and move on when not doing well in places I think they should be.
  22. A good tip with the buzzbait that a great friend and mentor taught me....take a pair of pliers and pinch the rivet to keep it from spinning on the wire. Then hold the bait out the window while driving down the highway for a while allowing the blade to spin. It gets the metal blade seated against the rivet making a high pitched squeal. The high pitch makes a huge difference.
  23. Fished from the dock in the same area late morning in the rain and Caught a few spots busting shad during lull between down pours. It's a fun bait fish.
  24. Bo - A refresher course on how to fish your spin jig at night would be appreciated.
  25. Ran into this issue this am. Tried several things without success. I'm kind of with wrench on this one. Managed to salvage a skunk by finding different ones in deeper water where they should be. Only item worth sharing is to change colors on the drop shot until you find what they want. i.e. don't force plum down their throat because you did well on it last time. They wanted something white/silver it today.
