  1. Just a heads up. Auction site says it's on 01'.
  2. Thanks for the info. Maybe whoever buys it would be interested in joining our TinBoats BassClub for us aluminum only guys that love to fish tourneys with a group of great guys.
  3. Nice. That will be a big advantage over the 8' in some situations.
  4. That didn't take long. What are you upgrading to?
  5. Positive clunk is coming from trailer and not U-Joints on truck? Sometimes under load as in pulling a trailer, it will show more on the faulty U-Joints.
  6. I read the first few pages of this thread last year. Just read every page and what great explaination in several different shots. Next weekend, weather permitting, and after install of Garmin, I will post some pictures for you to check out. I took a few yesterday around the Cape area with DI and sonar to show wife the difference. Excited to get this new unit going. Thanks for the thread and for the answers to my coming questions.
  7. As always, thanks J.
  8. With Bass Pro having their spring sale this coming weekend, I'm finally going to buy the new Garmin for the boat. Being probably the least knowledgeable electronics guy you will meet, I'm looking for experiences from you electronic experts that use them often. I've got a lot to learn on this issue. New unit will be the Garmin 73sv. Regular price is $999.99 and sale price is $550.00 so can't pass it up. Been wanting to try Garmin so here's my chance. Questions:. Currently have a Humminbird 688DI at the console. Great unit and new also. My delima that I need answers for is, if you had 1 unit with DI and another with DI and SI, which would you have at the console? Also would size play to your decision on location? 688 is 5" and 73 is 7".
  9. I was fishing out of Aunts Creek the day before they filmed. When I pulled up to launch I noticed one of those fancy marked up trucks/trailer/boat about to launch. Noticed a Tx. License plate. Caught the guy walking back to the dock from parking his rig. Asked if he was pre-fishing for something. He said he was here fun fishing that day. Said he was the film guy for Scott Martin who would be filming the next 2 days. About 45 minutes later while fishing he motored over and we talked for a bit. Good guy. Haven't watched that episode but pretty sure it rained like crazy if my memory serves me right.
  10. Excellent report Bill, and with pictures of fish AND the bait, my golly.... Ive only fished that area once, at last years OA tourney, so those places you mentioned are german to me. Glad after your struggles those few days, that you caught fish.
  11. Thanks Quill
  12. Is there a thread on the March 12 tourney somewhere that I'm not seeing? Looking for times and if it's at the same location as last year? Thanks
  13. Especially in a yak that can only go as fast as my arms will take it, and if a gator is coming with his mouth open, I'm taking my chances running on water.
  14. Cool video and nice fish. That looks like a killer spring haunt.
  15. sold my G3 Thur. and bought this yesterday. 1st trip out to Stockton today. Very impressed with the ride. Cut across a buddies wake several time to check ride and cut thru good. Huge difference from last boat. Ran 49 GPS
  16. Thanks Buddy, let me know when your in town and i will hook up with ya. For the new boat. ?
  17. still says problen uploading file. Anything other than cords?. Thanks in advance.
  18. Humminbird 688ci DI HD. Had it out today for the first time. Everything on the GPS side operates properly. Water temp was accurate. When trying to use the locater part of it, it has a solid black screen. It also shows water depth at 0.9" to 1.1" no matter what depth im in. Here are a few pics for reference. I checked cords and all seem secure. Any clue? Pics wont upload. will try in comments.
  19. No matter my political views on life's ramblings, when I read these threads"or in this case just a few pages" it shows me who I would and who I "couldn't" hang out with.
  20. We were there in June. Biggest was a 7.8. The water was way up from all the rain. 1st suggestion is top water frog early and late over grass. 2nd suggestion is a frog early and late. I've fished there many times, and any of the locals will tell you to bring several frogs. Caught several on a chatter bait. If your not fishing the grass, then find stumps close to shore to pitch to. That's about as easy as finding chocolate in a Snickers bar. My better half drug a worm from the back "she was getting bored" and caught some. Good luck on your trip. Your going at a good time.
  21. Few hundred for the sitting seats. More obviously if you do the fishing seats. Andy can tell you when he see this.
  22. Round 2 was about the same. Very slow bite, and little action from any of them. Still cant take my eyes off of the show tho.
  23. Lesson learned wrench. Couldn't amagine the aftermath of a boat doing it with 22 gallons of fuel and fumes within inches.
