  1. Haha. My skin is thicker than the rubber mats in my stock trailer. I mentioned here a few years ago that i would give wrench a run for his money on any given day for poking at people. I do it with a grin, rarely if ever in a serious tone. Just never have been a serious type of guy. Life is way to short for all that, so chances are 99% when you read something on these posts from me in regards to stuff like in this thread, it’s just to pull a feather or 2 from those that have thin skinned feathers. No harm intended, but i do like to rile people for a laugh.
  2. Now how would that be? It hasn’t been me that has made the comment after the initial. You may need to put down the twinkies and look in the mirror.
  3. Guys listen. It appears i twisted a few of your panties here with my “has been” comment. I mean the old saying “if the shoe fits, wear it” comes into play here. I mean if you are one that used to hook your boat up at 4am on a Saturday, drive to the lake and pay your entry, spend your time on the water and do all you can to catch a limit, but yet find yourself sitting on the couch with a box of twinkies, instead of hooking up your boat, paying your entry, and beating guys like me then you just may be what I referenced. Ok, untwist your panties if you got them twisted.
  4. Who’s “they”. Im pretty sure that finger isn’t pointed in my direction.
  5. But, it is not about supporting JM as much as it is supporting the business that he owns. With owning that business, he has done more for TR lake and the area than you, me, and 90% of those that live in the region have done collectively. Does his business deserve tax breaks? I would say so. Are those tax breaks equal or greater than the amount that he dumps into our region? I highly doubt it. The lake would not be better off without his money, we can all agree to that. Just think for a few minutes what the lake, fishery, and tourism would be like without. The lake would still get pounded with tournaments, pounded with big wake boats, pounded with rec. fishermen. Without his tax breaks, and money going back in to the area, this lake would be 1/2 of what it currently is.
  6. John, it was a great day. One of my buds that went owns an insurance agency so doesn’t get out much, and tho he is an avid outdoors guy had only been bird hunting once, and that was a European style shoot. He absolutely loved the actual hunt. My other buddy is retired “young age” and hadn’t hunted birds in over 20 years, so had a blast as well. The owner Bruce was our guide. Great guy that was a pleasure to chat with the 4 hours we were there. They run roughly 800 acres. Half of the fields are cut milo, and the other grown up grass for later in the season. He must have liked us cutting up with him all morning because he took us across the fence to one of the grown up fields. Dogs pointed a few more birds over there, but our lack of shooting only accounted for 1 more rooster. I think they said we will be going back the first of Jan. I’m ready.
  7. You just gotta give a few guys on this site a wink, maybe a quick thought, and move on. For them there should be no easy way for those more blessed with a fatter wallet.
  8. We had a great time with Bruce and Marcia. They had good cover, great dog work “2 shorthairs and 1 setter”, and conversation along the hunt. Marcia made a great lunch while Bruce and the other guide cleaned the birds. I had 2 buddies with me. We harvested 8 pheasant and 10 quail. Definitely was NOT my best shooting day. Weather yesterday was perfect. We will be back.
  9. You’ve got some of that asian moonshine stuffed in an outhouse somewhere. Go grab you a bottle, sit back in your recliner, and slowly sip as all of your daily problems melt away.
  10. You bored? If so i can bring a few deer for you to process.
  11. A few of us guys are heading over to Flying Feathers game bird preserve this week. I’m looking forward to it. Any of you bird guys been there? It’s in Golden City.
  12. Yeah, but exactly what does that mean? Hand out gold trophies? 😁
  13. Weren’t these guys promoting this on this site earlier this year? Pretty cheap entry, huh?
  14. Dang gents, what a perfect trip. Congrats.

Launched late, at 3. Didn’t get a sniff around Masters. Moved around the point and caught a white, LM, and a 19” walleye. Pretty slow almost 2 hours. Did something i have never done, and went to lip the LM with a jerk bait treble in his mouth, and got one of them sucked down in my thumb. One of the few times i had a buddy with me. Cut the ring, hooked on a string, and a quick yank and done.
  17. So tell us all, including any “gubment” guys reading exactly what YOU are currently doing to better this lake? Like real, actual work from brain power to man power, to put change forth? Talking on here does absolutely zero. man, as my first comment said, this convo gets beat up on this site. Does the fishery get beat up some? You bet. Is there better ways to manage it? You bet. Do new slots need implemented for take home average Joe fishermen? You bet. There has never been greater pressure on ALL bodies of water like there is today. There are just more people on this planet. More lake people in general. More boaters in general. And more fishermen. But with that, there are more people nowadays practicing catch and release than there have ever been. More people that understand proper fish care/handling than ever before. I have fished from California to Pennsylvania. The waters of this country are in good shape from what i have seen. Way more educational information out there these days to prevent some of the things that you say are causing great harm to fisheries. Again, can things get better? You bet, but it’s not the tournament guys that are doing all of the damage. As you said, things will never change.

Made it out for 2 hours today. For those interested, even tho the Stunna says slow sinking, that’s not the case with the 10 or 12 i own. I dropped it from 5’ up. Went under maybe 12 - 14” and took just a few seconds for it to surface. IMG_6671.MOV
  19. I live in Mo. so had to clue myself, but pretty cool. Some of the best hunting is after the rut anyways.

    Chicks?

We are still getting between 5 and 9 eggs daily. Way more than we eat, so she passes them out at her work every friday.

    Chicks?

Correct. To eat one of her kids would be like me taking away one pair of her 50+ pairs of shoes. Total no no.
