My first 2 fish came on an Academy H2O jerkbait. I only switched for a color change. Im sure that would do just fine BF.

We only traveled 1/4 mile from the ramp. The water in that 1/4 mile area was night and day color difference. All fish came in the clear water.

Our bellys were growling, so we opted to head to the eatery. South side clear water was 43-44. North side directly across was stained and 47-49
  4. Had this happen. Watched a few Youtube videos and some guys got in there and reset the washer, using epoxy to make ita perm. fix.
  5. That looks sweet. I located my okd Benjamin pump pistol the other day. Gonna see how it does next weekend when it warms back up. Thats a good group wrench.

Aarchdale and i put in at Masters at 6:45. Overcast with lite wind. We tried the point to the left with nothing. Moved across the lake and i picked up 2 keepers on a jerkbait. 3 hours went by before Andy caught 2 keeps a few minutes apart. Another 30 minutes and we rounded a point and i caught 2 more keeps pretty quick. About 75 yards down we lit them up. I caught 4 keepers on 4 casts. That turned into a double minutes later for us. Off the water at 12:30. Ned, SB, crank, jig. All fish came on the JB. We ended up with 19 fish total with 16 keepers. Far better than i had expected.
  7. Thanks Phil. My buddy Eric Brown is the archery teacher/coach for one of the Springfield schools. We will be down there with them cheering those youth on. Wonderful program.
  8. Water temps play more factors than date. If we continue with these warm days/nights and warm rain it wont be long.
  9. Thanks for the report Matt. Water doesnt look to bad. Hoping to be out saturday myself towards the dam area.
  10. It is now 6:00am to 2:00pm.
  11. no but the blind lead the blind in those circles.
  12. Banning anything never works. There will always be a way to get around it. Lots of smart guys out there that can and do make any gun part you need, in their home shop.
  13. Seen all kinds of complaints about it on FB. Some say even certain food channels that cook wild game got the Ax. One guy, Donnie something, posted a few articles this weekend in regards to youtube deleting channels, and that his sources told him that all channels that mention any type of gun will be gone soon. Another Facebook takeover it appears.
  14. I like ya wrench, but considering that a child is with a parent more than at school in a 12 month period, i think parents need to take a course in "parenting 101". Its amazing the amount of parents that are physically scared of their kid. My son "now 29" learned the hard way when he was 17 that dad doesnt mess around. He never made that mistake again, especially at the neighbors again. I love kids, but letting a teen run the family doesnt work. I have 2, 13 year old twin step sons. One is seriously a demon, and the other just in a smaller boat. Both grew up with parents/grand parents that didnt believe in punishment "What a change when i stepped in" and even to this day, they control their father and grandparents lives 90%. no exaggeration. The demon doesnt come around anymore, which without my wife seeing, im glad. He's been addicted to porn since 11. His father caught him 6 months ago, and pulled the plug on the computer "for the 2nd time" and the kid actually broke his fathers nose. We got the text with pictures, and a question asking what i thought he should do about it. I REALLY dislike the guy, so i had my wife text back and say get him counseling that we have been asking for, for 2 years. Still hasnt happened. We let him move in with his father to lessin the stress in my home.
  15. I read something today that made sense: "Kids havent changed, parenting has"
  16. Something that i've observed many times over. In no way am i insinuating ANYTHING from my comment, just stating observations: In my many many homes i have visited while a L.E.O it seems that the lower on the scale of income the family had, the more the parents punished their children when needed. The more money the family had, the more spoiled the kids, therefore less parenting. I grew up with very little, and parents who would slap ya silly for the smallest of disrespect within the home. As a parent i have VERY little patience for my kids if they speak without thinking, in return, busting them when needed. 3 are married now and thank me for being the dad i am. They are nurses and school teachers, and see the opposite of what happens when theres no dads like myself in the home. Not stating anything negative about moms here, as my mom and step mom would both snatch ya up, and grab your ear while spinning ya in circles warming your butt up. "O how i miss those days"
  17. Hes a great guy. P.S. Daryk ive moved or you could stay again.
  18. The bridge shown in the famous photo of the present Kimberling Bridge under construction and the old bridge below it is the bridge built in 1927. It was built after the first bridge over the White, erected in 1922 was washed out in a flood. The bridge was washed out by a flood in April of 1927. The Crane Chronicle reported, “Witnesses who saw the bridge go out said the heavy steel girders floated and bobbed up in the stream like they were of wood, then disappeared from view. It was considered remarkable that the heavy girders did not quickly sink from sight, but the flood water was of such force that they were carried away. About half of the bridge was washed some 300 yards down the river and a great deal of the long approach was also washed out.”
  19. The photo was taken in 1927. From my readings, they had planned to blow it up originally.
  20. Pretty cool photo from the 1950 era showing the old bridge. Its now structure down below.
  21. Good write BH. I dont think i know a bigger outdoor nature lover than myself. That being said, i understand, having lived a ranch type lifestsyle alot of my life, that control is detrimental to controlling yotes. On top of that, i enjoy the sport of the hunt. On everage a guy sits 10 stands before calling one in. My average is better at times, but this winter has been 0-5. I really enjoy hearing them in the evenings as im finishing up chores, or like this morning, seeing a big male chase a female across 13 hwy just at daylight. Boy he was hot on her tail, and ran with 3' of my truck.
  22. First sit nothing. Moved a few hundred yards west and hit the female howl and the woods lit up with music. It was 10 minutes til dark so i waited. Nothing came in but i will never get tired of those pack howls.
  23. Just got my gear ready 15 minutes ago. Going to take the 25 and the 243 incase one gets in close enough for the 25. Headed out in an hour. Need to go out and shoot it first since i reset the scopeto see how far im off.
  24. We justtalkedabout how i wish Missouri would allow us to hunt them year round. Well my wish came true. Breeding season has started.
