  1. After dinner, my better half and I went overbto Academy to look at the fishing goodies. While looking at the hard baits, she noticed a "pretty" bait, and that the price was cheap. The company is H2O Express baits. They had cranks, jerks, rattles, etc. Has anyone seen or used these? I know most of us are of the frame of mind, more is better, but at $3.00 a bait, i dont feel so bad bouncing them off rocks on the bank, or letting the tree claim one. We grabbed a few things for the new fishing season, including 10 of these baits to try.
  2. Look at your current boat. Think of the things you like and dislike about it. Look at the boat your planning on buying, and see if the new boat has all of the things you like with your current boat, and none of those you dislike.
  3. Here is a job i did this fall that was as you stated yours is. The facia board had rotted behind the facia metal and gutters, causing the gutters to sag and pull away from the facia. This picture will give you an idea of whats expected. I removed all of the old facia board, fixed any rotted rafter tails, installed new facia boards, new facia metal, and new gutters/downspouts.
  4. If you werent so far away I would give ya an estimate. I own a contracting company here in Springfield. If you have any questions, or want to see if the quotes you get are fair, send me a PM.
  5. I was hoping for a tuneup.
  6. Looks like a good unit. I dont own a Tracker, but have seen it at Bass Pro many times. My buddy John bought this model in June of last year, and so far he likes it. It went from a 17' Lowe to the Tracker, and said it was an upgrade. Lots of boats in that price range. Good luck with the purchase, and congrats.
  7. My routine also. I may stick with a finess jig until either the sun warms the shallows a few degrees, or switch to a jerk bait around mid morning. A 4" craw would be rigged texas style on a rod also. This time of year can be tough. There are usually a few baits that will get ya bit atleast some part of the day. Find that bait, and fish it til your arm falls off.
  8. JWD, I would do as Possum said.mThrow stick baits and U. rigs out to 10' of water. I would focus on main lake points, and depending on temps by that time, try secondary with a change in bottom, and focus on transitions.
  9. I grew up on Texoma. I was born there, in Sherman, and lived in Pottsboro. The lake and the Red River were my backyard. Caught many a stripper and large cats in both. I still go there a few times a year, and camp with my family that lives there.

next week looks good. not great, but good
  11. Check out Grand Lake of the Cherokees in NE Okie. The town of Wyandotte or Grove both are close to water, and good fishing. Its a good fishery, good water, and pretty close to where your looking to go.
  12. well crud, sorry. Try a search in your FB page for TinBoats BassClub. Others have found it that way. Last year was the first year that I havent ran upriver for whites. We caught many while chunking traps for crappie around the southern end of the lake. Those we caught were in the 9" to 12" range. I plan on fishing up river a way this spring, and hope to hook up a few walleye while im up there. Got a few holes that usually produce.
  13. I just clicked the link at it took me to the page. If anyone has issues I will look into it.
  14. They do still sell a kit like you stated Larry. You can find it at Amazon pretty cheap also. As stated, a seperate pump tomkeep water circulating helps a ton, as does adding a little ice from time to time. J, its a page..Use your search for TinBoats BassClub. Settings are set on public so it should be accessable. If not let me know.
  15. Ive got the Facebook page started, with tourney dates, waivers, big bass form, and will soon attach the bi-laws. Its not complete, but its a start for now. https://www.facebook.com/?ref=tn_tnmn
  16. Fishin, yes Pomme Lake. The whites during the run are plentiful. My daiughter and I on 2 seperate days caught over 100 each during a 4 hour outing. My better half and i caught several this fall of main lake points with rattle traps near Bolivar Landing, on the far south end of the lake. The fishery as a whole on Pomme is great. Ive fished that lake pretty hard the past 15 years. JF660, Yes a livewell to keep the fish alive will be a requirement, I have 2 possible 3 boaters so far who stated they dont have a partner, so if you would be interested in fishing out of someones boat, we can make that work. I will be starting a Facebook page this week for those interested to keep up on the happenings. For those that dont use Facebook, I will be making a website to post the i formation also. I will be back from Dallas tomorrow, and will be putting together the rules, regs, waivers, etc. and will email those interested, and also post the Facebook and website info here, as long as that works with Phil.
  17. once we get past next week, i think we will be looking good. It will take a while to warm the waters, but most days with temps above 40 and i will be out there. The whites will be running up the Pomme and i will be there to catch my share for a fish fry. Im in Dallas Tx. at the moment, til Monday. I heard home got hit, but Dallas got a few inches yesterday. People down here have no idea how to react to this weather. Literally seen vehicles in ditches all across town.
  18. haha, ive owned a few of those also Bill. Tho i had a powered boat also, just something about the canoe, and a quiet creek or river with paddle in had, and pole, that remains in my head. I have a G3 Pro 175 as of now, and enjoy the boat. Ive had several glass rigs, being one of those guys that like to keep a boat 2 or 3 years then get something different. Im pretty certain that i will keep an aluminum boat for several more years, if not the rest of my fishing years. I still fish with friends who have glass boats, but my little rig does me fine.
  19. great catch, on a day that was nasty.
  20. Hence why theres so many boat makers, making very well made aluminum boats these days, with storage, room, and HP to get ya there. Looking at these newer aluminum boats can cost ya $20,000 plus nowadays.
  21. They will be prosecuted, as an example if anything.
  22. probably a good, safe call.
  23. Thanks Gramps, i posted it over there. have over 20 interested so far.
  24. Looks like snow and ice on the way..You guys down on the Ar. line getting any as of yet?
  25. Good idea dtrs... Pomme and Stockton are fairly manageable lakes, even for those with small range motors. As far as TR, i will admit, i will be lost there. Im sure i will start fishing down that way this spring, just for the new challenges. Again, thanks for the input guys.
