Yeah buddy, 3 hours of water off last night too... looks like 2in of rain so far and TR is still climbing though. Only about 13 hours left of waiting haha.

For once I'm actually preparing ahead of time instead of running around with my hair on fire trying to fly out the door. Jerk baits all got a hook check and once over. Crank baits and big sticks too... The signature series are gonna be working hard this weekend!!! Duanes hooks are sharp... I have a few extra holes already. My jig boxes are still a hot mess, but we're getting there. Butterfly net and big boy net are ready to go. Scale, tapes, and mesh bag are ready if we get something worth measuring. Gonna be tough getting to sleep tonight. MNtransplant sent me some motivation this evening!

Placeholder for tomorrow through Sunday. My awesome wife booked me a condo at Point Royale for my 40th Bday, (sorry Phil when she booked everything was closing up or we'd be there) for Wednesday to Sunday. My original plans to go to Alaska for my 40th fell through as I switched employers in January... It's also been a rough ride which I'm adjusting to life as an IT mercenary. That means if I don't work I don't get paid so my freedom to just take off and go fish has been drastically reduced. I haven't trout fished in months due to work and covid hotting my current healthcare employer hard, and I'm ready and overdue for an awesome trip with my usual cast of characters. There will be 7 of us when Seth gets down on Friday. Have a great mix of seasoned anglers and a few recreational fishermen who tolerate our marathon fishing methods. Plan is to hit it hard each day and night as the water and weather permits... figure with this many guys that are great jig and jerk bait slingers we're hoping to stick a big brown at some point. If anyone's down or would like to join our motley crew for night time adventures chasin sea monsters just shoot me a PM and I'll send ya my cell. Going to be interesting for sure with the crazy rain forecast. If it's not pouring we'll try to keep this thread updated with reports and pics. Tight lines everyone,

Yeah I don't mess around with lightning and water... never thought about it spooking them. Hopefully we can get a few breaks in the rain. Phones waterproof and we'll have a couple gopros in case we get into some big ones. I hope we can find them.

Wow looks like I wished you triple luck! I got let go from BJC dude to covid 2 weeks ago... they contacted me 7 days later and asked me to come back. So now im working again until June 5th guaranteed. Im interviewing as well and also 5 rounds in with Mulesoft. If you guys want or need an O365 solutions architect, hit me up lol.

Yep, that's in the plan for this trip. Looks like we may get some dry time in on Thursday. Not holding my breath though. Just hoping for rain and not lightning...

Can't wait... 3 more days. With the current conditions and there being 7 of us I think we'll have pretty good odds of hopefully getting into a big brownie. I for one will likely be in full on big bite mode and thinking I'm gonna throw jerks until my arm falls off for 5 days...

I think the question is should we trust the goevernment? I for one do not. Not that I believe all the tin foil conspiracy stuff, but my lack of trust comes from first hand experience of them being incompetent failures over and over again... the older I get the less trust I have.

I went through engineering school for electrical engineering, doesn't mean squat as far as I'm concerned other than the fact I can do complex levels of calculus... I use absolutely zero percent of anything related to my degree in over 20 years of IT... I have multiple family members in the healthcare careers up to including doctors who agree what the education systems have become is all driven by money and politics. It's a shame. And it's not a matter of me thinking I'm smarter than a doctor, but I do believe with my bio engineering background I could of went down that path. IT pays better, cheaper education, with less stress and allot less school. My wife feels the same way in regards to nurses and nursing schools. Anyone that has spent time in a hospital knows the nurses are the ones who run things. Im not trying to say any old dope can be a doctor, but if you don't think they turn out bad ones, or bring in foreign ones with lower standards then not sure what to tell you.

Man, been gone for a few days and this thread continues to grow... watched the video, it's way far out there, but Fauci is not some savior of the medical world... YouTube censoring, what else is new... Anyone with ties to Soros should be listed as questionable in my book. I'm no Democrat or Republican, most would label me conservative, but I'm just a God fearing, freedom loving, red neck turned city slicker. The truth is our freedoms can be taken away and certain parties and states are demonstrating that right at this very moment. That should be waking people up. As for doctors being more intelligent than others, what do you call a person who graduates last from med school... A doctor. My wife's a nurse, she's worked peds, oncology, and general practice. If you think there are not doctors out there who are incompetent, stupid, or just a pill pusher for pharma, I got news for you. Plenty of idiot doctors who'd rather write you a quick Rx for a kickback than actually diagnose a problem... Don't get me started on the health insurance abominations like my $1600 for health insurance, or my daughter's $4000 a month prescriptions so she doesn't have seizures...(she's off that med now, but that was an actual legitimate cost they gave me at the pharmacy) It's a all a big scam... I worked for big pharma, and big agriculture, the levels of shadiness know no bounds in these companies. The last 10 years it seems to have gotten monumentally worse. Stay safe out there everyone. Don't touch your face.

First time I'd seen it all the way off in a looooonnnggg time. Curious to see if this will be a pattern? TR continues to slowly rise. Will be down Wednesday night and would love to be able to get out and wade at night again... Any insight @Phil Lilley ? I see a bunch of potential rain in the forecast so we're gonna be bringing the rain gear.

A calm night on the water with no generation is about as peaceful and tranquil as I can get. It is a spiritual thing for me the times I'm out there solo as I get to an almost zen like place. I truly prefer it over fishing in the day time. Met a few other night owls down there too.

Buddy I long for an evening in the dark chasing some sea monsters with the water off... a solid night of slinging jerkbaits and crushing fish until the grey starts to peak out and dawn is coming. Honestly though I've learned to love fishing no matter what the flows there. 4 can be tough for me personally, I'd take gates over 4. Anything else I have solid plans to get into them. I'm not sure when the water was last off, but I do know this is the longest run I've seen. Heading down on the 13th through the weekend. Can't get here fast enough...

Man there's a bunch of freedom hating scared people up in here. Look I don't care for trump at all, but i sure don't run around crying because my girl lost the election. Thats a joke btw as i'd never vote for Hillary either. What I will stand up for, fight for, die for, and defend are my family, my freedom as much that's left of it, and my God given rights. Some of the dialog in here is beyond disturbing... very sad indeed.
