  6. oh and I will have my 2 1/2 yo grandkidlet some days, so if I can get her in crappie or bluegills it would be great....
  7. I'm going to be on the lake from 15 March 2015 - 23 March 2015, staying in the Kimberling City area. What are the mid lake conditions and open for suggestions on where to fish and what to fish for. Willing to trailer or run any where that warants the trip. Thanks Bob
  8. I'm going to spend a week on TR 15 - 23 May. Suggestions?
  9. Skeet is a Cali guy and he can power fish, but I think a real power fishing guy will win this.......
  10. I have a four bank charger that gets plugged in as soon as I unhook the boat in the garage. In the winter this is religon almost because winter is hard on batteries. I have given thought to the chance of fire but I think it's a very low probability. Everyone is different but that's how I do it. As for other maintaince issues, I change the lower unit lube twice a year, when I fished tournaments I changed it at least 3 times a year. I saw a video of Gerald Swindle before he made the trek to California couple weeks ago, he said he changes his lower unit before every tournament. Lube is cheap, engines are a little more expensive..........
  11. I have probably the same Snap-on cutters. I just can't believe that pushing, gouging, twisting, etc inside the gullet can be better than cutting the hook as close as possible. I don't even get that much bleeding when I do this.
  12. I've been spooling braid with 3 yards or so of Flouro for a long time. Will not go back to straight FC ever again, but not designed for spinning reels. I use straight FC on my casting reels but not my spinning reels. Learned this little trick from fly fishing with FC tippet when nymphing.
  13. I have found in my 57 years that any meeting held behind closed doors with only select people invited, usually screws the people that were intentionally left out......
  14. Selling my aluminum Tracker TXS w/ 70 hp Johnson w/ tilt/trim. New front deck, new carpet, new seats, new 55# MinnKota, 3yr old Humminbird 798 HD DI/SI, new semi-custom boat/motor cover, upgraded trailer, new tires, new spare, 12 gallon tank, new bilge and livewell pumps (not installed). Just add water, this thing is ready to fish. Bought a new Nitro Z9, just won't use this boat anymore.

    Alaska, 1St Trip

I have worked for the Army for 31 years and it's amazing how many summers I've had work to do at Wainwright, Richardson, Cold Weather Test Center, Fort Greely or one of the Air bases. I'd move there in a heart beat but I can't afford the divorce so I'll have to continue my trips in my retirement....
  16. I also put them on ice if I keep them, also if you will soak in buttermilk overnight that really really helps. Basically though, why go to any special trouble if there are so many fish in the lakes that don't need anything special. Learn to catch crappie or walleye or both and you won't ever eat another sand bass, ooops white bass.
  17. I would have to worry about durability but if they are cheap enough and/or you can order the bodies in bulk, who cares. They would be really good in warm water, I don't think baitfish wiggle that much in cold water. Also don't know how fast you have to crank it to get that big wobble. Will pick some up and give a try. I'll report back to let you know if they worked for me.....
