I'm taking some family members from out of town Sunday morning to Pomme. Anyone have any recommendations as to where I should focus and even possibly use? Bass or crappie. I'm a little skeptical with all this rain and floaters on the lake. Thanks in advance.

I may be a little late here, but what will all this rain do to the bass spawn... if it it hasn't happened already.

When do the white bass typically start biting good this end of the year? Are we past the point where they like to bust up the shad in a feeding frenzy?

A few years ago my family got into the whites near lightfoot. It looked like the water was boiling for an hour. They were so excited! I think it ruined them though. A few times since then, they've just not been near as interested in going unless the white bass were feeding. I've explained to them how rare that is and fish aren't caught sitting at home...... Maybe they'll come with me saturday. Any word if they've been active further south on the pomme de terre arm?

Yeah, I live on the way to the lake and have seen fewer boats up and down the road than last year. I was just curious how the fishin's been. Seems like when I have the time the weather is not favorable.... and when I don't have time the weather is nice.

That's funny. I've been wanting to upgrade for quite some time and haven't pulled the trigger yet, because I don't know (among all the options) what I want . . . just something 20+ years newer.

Yeah, I was looking alot for the white bass to feed on the shad. They must have been full that day. Ketchup, I'm targeting crappie, large mouth, and white bass.

Could anyone offer any advice fishing this time of year? Went out yesterday and got totally skunked. The sunset was beautiful though. I'm making an assumption that maybe there is just too much available food? The shad were incredibly thick!!! It looked like an all you can eat buffet out there.

A couple of weeks ago, out of curiosity (while teaching my son to drive) I had him take me to Bolivar Landing and I was shocked to see ZERO vehicles in the lot.

Just curious how the conditions are at Pomme. I'm a consistent Bolivar Landing launcher. Work, weather, fatigue, another excuse, one more excuse, etc. has kept me from the lake. How's it been? I wasn't able to get out around my last post about the white bass. I probably should change my description of activities and remove the repeated use of fishing . . . as it would be more accurate.
