  2. My son lives 10 miles away from me we usually go fishing once a week...last time i was up the James it was windy as all get out and white caps...water temp up there was 56 then and water was dirty or stained....good luck..time spent with kids fishing is priceless...
  3. Im going tomorrow probably wont get in water till around noon and put in at shell knob...just dont know what direction im going from there....son has to work till 8 am and he takes a nap for couple of hours before we go.
  4. Thinking about going out Monday or Tuesday as it looks like that might be my last day out for awhile. I cant take the cold like i use to my hands and feet get cold and im done, i havent figured out how to use a spinning reel with gloves on i guess. Getting old has it's advantages, but seems more disadvantages comes with it.
  5. My trolling motor is only 54 lbs thrust motor guide on a 17' 6" Champion total approx boat weight around 2200 lbs with me in it...lol..so high winds make it tough to go. I'm thinking maybe Monday or Tuesday i might get out there depending on weather.
  6. Winds up to 25 mph today, thats enough to keep me off the lake, that and i messed my back up yesterday...lol..trolling motor not big enough to go against the wind....tomorrow they saying 30 mph winds and snow flurries... so i guess if wind is your friend as has been said, i guess today and tomorrow would be a friendly day...lol
  7. Tournament of Champions in Toldeo Bend April 2 if anyone is interested. http://www.bbcboards.net/champion-boats/640897-tounament-champions-toledo-bend-date-set.html

  10. Nice looking swim baits....way out of my price range right now.
  11. Thank You everyone that shared info last night in chat..
  12. Big M is a recreational area..campsites and boat ramps and i think they have cabins you can rent there also.
  13. Nice catch...they where talking 4-5 inches of rain this week.
  14. Put in about 10:30 am and fished to about 3 pm, very windy had small white caps on water, didnt catch anything and i did not get lost. Water temp was 57 degrees and fish where holding in 20 foot or more water...
  15. Lots if Gulls around Bridgeport and cape fair also.
  16. Thanks for the report....going out tomorrow just havent figured where yet
  17. Good Luck...It's been tough.
  18. Thanks Quill.....I may try to get out Saturday.
  19. 80 mile round trip for me to go to BPS, so i order most my stuff online.
  20. 30 to 40 mph here..it is probably blowing the bait fish right out of the water.
  21. Yea it was funny after we got back to the ramp...it was like getting dark....
  22. Heading back to Shell knob boat ramp last night, from point 23 i made a wrong turn and we wound up all the way down by arrow point (i think it was called) so we hit track back on gps and made it back to boat ramp...but we did have a nice 20 mile ride at 50 mph....i guess thats what i get for looking at all the pretty surroundings instead of where im going.....lol
  23. The only thing i caught anything on today was a Bandit 200 chartreuse and root beer colored.
  24. We didnt get in the water till about 1:30 pm....ran towards Big M and fished a big cove area, we caught about 8 blacks all undersized of coarse. I caught most of them on a bandit 200 chartreuse rootbeer colored, fish seemed to be holding in 10 to 20 foot of water and they where scattered and no bait fish around. Threw the big whooper plopper the little whooper plopper, threw a wareagle spinner spot remover . Jason threw a buzz bait and several crank baits and caught one black that was 14 inches...it was like they turned on for a minute then turned off...water temp was 65 degrees.
  25. Wonder if it has a remote control?
