nice job. we were in spring creek on and off few days ago. I did see water 58 up there and 62 closer to the marina. Probably the wind pushing everything around. I got my kids on fish using a drop shot, which was easier for them to handle in the wind.

water cooled off this weekend, typical mid day we found 54-56. That's with high sun and 65 degrees out. Only pulled in one fat whitebass trolling cranks.

Temps were more like 75-60-40 with 25mph winds. Caught fish Thursday on cranks. Friday Saturday..meh.. Thursday they were all in probably 8-12fow off chunk rock banks. trying it again this weekend.

I found 55-58 degrees last weekend in the Oakland area. You have the right baits, bass and walleye were hitting cranks last weekend. I should be out in afternoons this week, I'll look for your boat.

WooHoo looks like Thursday temps will spread into Friday. 70-70-50 degree days That means the honey-do list will have to wait. Can't wait to fish!

Thanks Jeremy. I can't always pick my weekend to fish, but the way I view it I learn more when conditions are NOT optimal..

Gonna try for crappie this weekend, cast for bass and those brown walleye.. Temps look nice but don't blame me for bringing the cold front this weekend. 70s to 60s to 50s on sunday.. Plan is to start out for suspended fish with jigs and bait, then work in to shore. By Saturday I might be working in the yard. Many talk about low lake levels, but years ago before the new set height this was pretty normal. Spring rains will raise it up 20feet.

2 weeks ago, it was a mess, lotsa crap floating in the water. Visibility was 6". But we tried anyways.. No fish. fish when we can, catch when they cooperate.

From what I have read, the White has been generating early and then shutting down. Is that right? I'd like to take my son wading in the afternoon. Maybe we need to stay farther down, cotter/wildcat to get some lower water. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I really like the barrel swivel before the hooks. The more spin the better I agree. For the eyes, the ability of your rig to give a little bit of reduced resistance or slack is key.. Thanks!

Crawler harnesses caught a bunch for me this past weekend. Water was 80-81, caught fish in 25-35fow on pink spinner rigs. I do love the size of our spotted bass, my biggest was 17". release.mp4

Good job Fish 24/7. I gave up on the leadcore. Its great to hit the exact depth, just a pain to reel in and we lost some fish due to reeling in the slack. Had some nasty tangles when a bait didn't run straight.

Giving away my crank colors.. only hooked one trolling for walleye.

Never made it to the river last week. We had a lot of rain that week, much in the morning and heavy bouts late in the day. The topwater bite window is there everyday morning and again at night. Up until dusk we toss shallow cranks which hooks everything from bass, gills, whites and gar. Kept some fish one night for a meal, let everything else go the rest of the week. Did pretty good trolling and pulling harnesses in 25-30fow. Trolling fish are still suspended in that range, out to 60-70fow. We use clip weights and line counter reels, that targets that zone pretty easy. Next week forecast is for Hi 90's. I will say the Spots are beautiful and getting fat on Bull Shoals! Here is one with our #1 crankbait color.

Before your topwater bite try shallow cranks 0-3' deep. It seems that topwater bite is a short window, so fish a little deeper prior to dusk but in the sun. Seems to work for us.

I've only hooked 3 or 4 perch over the last few years. This past weekend we caught a 13" on a crankbait. I agree where there is one there are 20.. Would be great to see more of these guys but I don't know about habitat or cohabitation with our bass.

What's the weekend fish battle plan? Heading down this weekend. I plan to pull some crawler harnesses in 20-30fow. Throw some plastics along some deep water structure. Throw topwater at sun up. Make at least 1 or 2 wading trips on the white with my kids. We wade up north on rivers but I haven't taken them on the white yet. I see the Norfork is dumping so that won't be an option. If I can get them to hook one rainbow each it will be a success.

This weekend I trolled at 20-25ft in 30-50fow, had 2 on brought in one fat spotted bass. Over the last month or so, the bass seem to like blue backed "fat-O" type crank baits running at <2mph. Summer trolling pattern in full swing. Sunday it poured, lightening kept us off the water. Will try again in a few weeks.

Can't let it get to you. While trolling, I've had guys scream between me and the shore not 50yds away. And they waved, I didn't wave back... though rare I put that experience in the what not to do folder. At least I can teach my kids lake etiquette. Most everybody gives room and waves. we wave back. Actually too many nice folks on the water to let it bother you.

Nice fish! with water temps getting to near 80 I think they are trending to the deep summer pattern. that 33ft mark sounds about right. Did you get the cheeks?
