  2. I know that we don't want to start thinking about how much money we through in the lake, but how many $ is that !!
  3. Wow weird !
  4. Found the pic' we were fishing a benefit tournament, I put this dude on their scale and asked if they was any prizes for the largest bluegill.
  5. wow !
  6. I figured they were bluegill, I would not mind catching some big fat ones ! I caught one while fishing for walleye that was almost a pound 1!
  7. I can't help myself...I will quit after this one
  8. That last one was for the spoon fisher folks hahaha !
  9. There rv people make pretty good switch panels too. There is and rv salvage near Joplin regional sale barn. There is probably one near you too.
  10. I bought one of these a couple years ago, the more I use it the more I like it. Only gripe is the handle is a little long. 8'2" classic black $55. I recon this is too heavy. http://fishoutlaw.com/shop/
  11. Nope, i always have my eye out for a depth finder up grade, I guess I'm just to tight. I will wait and buy someones junk that is 4 times better than mine.
  12. Grabbing the line, yes. It happens to me too sometimes, on the up stroke pause at the top for just a moment, or what I do is to take the swivel off then use a clip right to the spoon, that helps. I have a friend who takes the swivel off, and reuses the swivel to tie a heavy leader to the main line, then tie the leader right to the spoon. I have tried it but I change colors too much for that.
  13. Yep who knows??
  14. I think they are everywhere following bait fish, and yes I have caught a couple walleye there.😁
  15. I get it. I guess you will have to get the story from him. It is tough to really know anyone through youtube or a forum. What I do know of Jerry, I like, as of yet I have no reason to doubt him. Maybe he worked for someone or maybe "guide" meant something different back then? Either way he seems interesting to me, I thought that he might be interesting to others as well.
  16. Jerry is 80 and claims that he was guiding on the river at 12 yrs old. I don't know ?
  17. Back in the day we used to off road between busiek and highlandville, it was fun. Looking on the map....I can't remember where we used to get out of the woods, somewhere south of highlandville, I am sure everything has changed in 30yrs I am still curious.
  18. If you want to find a quick way back to the 1st narrow, go slow and map it once, it is kind of a long ark, something(not exactly, make your own path) like this(see map). You have a right to be nervous, it very deceiving ! I don't go back that far either, I have been back in there too, it always looks good, but not real productive.
  19. Does anyone care to divulge the location of a pit with walleye in it? I am kicking around the idea of buying a Kansas licence just for kayak fishing the pits. Feel free to message me. Thanks
  20. i guess I should have taken a picture of the graph. I was looking for fish Saturday, I thought that there might be some on the deep trees in the middle of Maze creek. Some of you might know where the north most trees are in the middle of the main channel. I never see anyone fish them. As I moved just north of the last tree, I could see something feeding way down on the bottom 45 ft or so. I thought I would drop some bait and see what they were, I would get a bump or two, I dropped a couple minnows only to get them stolen. My guess maybe bluegill. Did any one else see this? I have caught a few nice bass on Tablerock in deep trees like this. It seems like there should be a lunker in there.
  21. I have been following this guy on youtube for a couple years, I have encouraged him to post on the forum, I hope to fish with him in the spring.
  22. Strippers ?😁
  23. Me too ! Maybe if a guy could rig a couple 3 way swivels inline.....maybe ? Call it an "A cranky jerk donkey creature jig"
